Chapter 56: Chapter 56: Real Culprit

Emily hesitated before asking, "Does this have something to do with the money?"

Aurora nodded. "Yeah. But I can’t say more than that."

Emily thought for a moment. "Then... what do you want to happen?"

Aurora bit her lip.

"I want my parents to know I can help them. I want them to stop struggling. But I also don’t want them to think something weird is going on."

Emily nodded. "Then maybe you just have to show them instead of telling them."

Aurora chuckled bitterly, if only it was that simple...

"Anyways. Let’s move toward the next plan, you know what you have to do."

Emily nodded with a serious expression.

Just then, the main door was opened and Olivia and Theodore entered the room with a dark face.

Before Aurora could ask any questions, they headed straight toward Adam’s room.

Aurora was curious and followed them in.

"What happened?" She asked.

"We found the rich man who framed Father," Olivia answered.

"Who was it?"

"Rose’s father’s friend." Olivia seethed.

It took Aurora a few minutes to remember Rose. The woman who had framed Olivia.

"Him? Is he taking a revenge?" Aurora asked.

"I don’t know. With the surveillance cameras, we found his car number plate and tracked it down. We got his name. Gray Winston.

And guess what? I recently heard how the Winston Group secured a million-dollar deal from the Lancaster Group even though their winning chances were low." Olivia gritted her teeth.

Aurora frowned remembering the details of how Olivia had framed Rose. At that time there was no surveillance camera around.

Compared to Adam’s situation it was quite similar.

"Now? What are we planning to do?" Aurora asked worriedly.

Olivia and Theodore fell silent.

Emily who at some point followed them sighed,

"There is no point in fighting. Gray Winston is too powerful."

Olivia, Aurora, and Theodore looked in Emily’s direction.

"You know him?" Theodore asked with a sharp gaze.

"Not personally," Emily admitted.

She got to know about Gray from Mia. Mia was his part-time mistress.

A year ago, when Mia went to a fancy party, she met Gray Winston, the founder of Winston Groups.

They hit off quickly. Though Gray didn’t have much connection in the entertainment industry, he could still pull a string or two.

With his help, Mia, even with her average acting skills, landed many minor roles.

Emily hesitated before speaking again.

"He’s not just rich—he’s smart and careful. He doesn’t do anything without making sure he won’t get caught. If he framed Adam, then he must have planned everything perfectly."

Olivia clenched her fists.

"So what? Just because he’s powerful, we should let him get away with it?"

Emily shook her head.

"I’m just saying... if you go against him, you better be really sure of your plan. One mistake, and he’ll crush you."

The room fell silent.

Aurora frowned.

"So what do we do? We can’t just sit here and do nothing."

Theodore took a deep breath.

"We need proof. Solid proof. If we take this to the police now, they might ignore us because he’s powerful. But if we get enough evidence, they have to take action."

"No! I will go and confront Rose about this!" Olivia gritted her teeth.

The more she thought, the angrier she became.

Theodore reached out and grabbed Olivia’s wrist as she turned to leave the room.

"Olivia, stop. You can’t just rush in without thinking," he said, his voice firm.

But Olivia shook him off, her eyes burning with anger.

"I don’t care! I won’t let them get away with this!" Without another word, she stormed out of the house.

Theodore sighed. He knew he couldn’t stop her, so he had no choice but to follow along.

After a long ride, they arrived at a luxurious residential area.

The tall gates and neatly trimmed hedges made it clear that only the rich and powerful lived here.

To get inside, they needed someone from the area to let them in.

Olivia pulled out her phone and called Rose.

She tapped her foot impatiently, expecting Rose to ignore her call. Just when she was about to hang up, Rose picked up.

"Oh? Olivia? What a surprise," Rose’s voice was laced with amusement.

"Meet me outside your villa," Olivia demanded.

Rose chuckled. "Oh? And why should I do that?"

"Just come out. Or are you too scared?" Olivia taunted, her grip on her phone tightening.

Rose laughed lightly. "Fine. Wait there."

The call ended, and Olivia put her phone away. She crossed her arms, glaring at the gate as it had personally offended her.

Minutes turned into an hour. The guards at the gate kept glancing at them strangely, whispering to each other.

Olivia called Rose again, but this time, Rose didn’t pick up.

Just as Olivia was about to give up and leave, a sleek black car rolled up to the gate.

The driver stepped out and opened the door, revealing Mrs. Lancaster and Rose.

Mrs. Lancaster, dressed elegantly, looked at Olivia and Theodore with a cold expression, while Rose had a smug smirk on her face.

Olivia immediately stepped forward, her anger boiling over.

"What do you mean by framing my father?!" she shouted, her voice echoing in the quiet neighborhood.

Mrs. Lancaster frowned, her lips curling in distaste.

"How uncouth. You’re as loud and shrewd as ever, Olivia. Is this how you were raised? Where are your manners?"

Olivia gritted her teeth, but before she could say anything, Theodore stepped in front of her, gently pulling her behind him.

He met Mrs. Lancaster’s gaze with an icy stare.

"Enough with the insults. Why did you frame my father?" His voice was calm, but there was a dangerous edge to it.

Mrs. Lancaster raised an eyebrow. "I have no idea what you’re talking about."

Rose tilted her head, feigning innocence.

"Yes, Theodore. What are you accusing us of? We’ve done nothing wrong."

Theodore let out a small smirk.

"You know exactly what I’m talking about. Don’t play dumb."

Mrs. Lancaster folded her arms, her expression unreadable.

"If you have accusations, bring proof. Otherwise, stop embarrassing yourself."

Olivia clenched her fists.
