Help! I Became A Guy In A BL Novel!-Chapter 180: A Scheme
Chapter 180: A Scheme
The sun cast its golden hue over the sprawling city as Leon’s entourage made its grand entrance. Clad in opulent attire, he rode at the forefront, exuding confidence and arrogance. His long blond hair shimmered in the sunlight. He looked radiant, to say the least.
His guards, equally resplendent, flanked him, their banners fluttering in the breeze. The townsfolk watched in awe and trepidation, whispering among themselves about the Lion King’s unexpected arrival.
Leon expected a grand reception. He anticipated Ronan waiting at the city’s gates, ready to bow and offer the customary greetings due to a fellow ruler. Instead, the streets remained devoid of any official welcome. The Wolf Clan’s estate loomed ahead, its gates closed, guards stationed firmly.
Dismounting with a flourish, Leon approached the gates, his voice dripping with disdain. "Is this how the Wolf Clan welcomes its guests? No fanfare? No hospitality?"
The guards remained stoic, their expressions unreadable. Before they could respond, the gates creaked open, revealing Ronan standing tall, his gaze icy.
"Leon," Ronan’s voice was calm, yet carried an unmistakable edge. "Your arrival was unannounced."
Leon smirked, stepping forward. "Surely, a king doesn’t need an invitation."
"In our lands, respect is earned, not assumed," Ronan replied, his stance unyielding.
Leon chuckled, a mocking sound. "Did your father not teach you manners?" He stepped forward and continued, "Oh, I forgot, your father was a barbarian." Of course, he knew about Ronan trying to break free from the shackles placed by his predecessors’ behaviour.
Ronan’s eyes narrowed. "And did the Matriarch not teach you the importance of courtesy? One must inform before showing up, otherwise, one acts like an unwanted pest."
The tension between them was palpable. Leon’s guards shifted, hands inching towards their weapons. Ronan’s eyes flicked to them, his voice dropping to a warning tone.
"If your men draw their weapons, it will be seen as a declaration of war."
Leon paused, calculating. He was deep in Wolf territory, outnumbered and unprepared for a full-scale conflict.
"Very well," he said, stepping back. "But remember, Ronan, disrespect has its consequences."
Ronan’s gaze remained steady. "So does arrogance."
He wanted to toss this pitiful wolf a bone. Make it look like Ronan was giving approval for Leon to take over the town. He meant to spare Ronan some embarrassment when he conquered that town and made it part of his territory. But now, none of that.
Leon turned on his heel, signalling his entourage to retreat. As they departed, a whisper reached Leon’s ears—rumours of Ronan’s mate, a male omega named Riven. A smirk played on Leon’s lips.
"So, the mighty Alpha has chosen a male omega as his mate," he mused. "Interesting."
Back at his camp, Leon summoned his most trusted advisor. "Find out everything about this Riven. If Ronan has a weakness, it’s him."
The advisor nodded, understanding the unspoken command.
Meanwhile, Ronan watched from the estate’s balcony, his thoughts troubled. He knew Leon’s pride had been wounded, and a wounded lion was dangerous.
He turned to his second-in-command. "Increase security around Riven. Leon won’t attack directly, but he will seek to strike where it hurts most."
The man nodded, leaving to carry out the orders.

Leon stood atop a hill overlooking the bustling city below, a wicked grin playing on his lips. The news of Riven’s presence in Soren’s domain had reached him, and he saw an opportunity too tempting to ignore. freewebnσvel.cøm
"So, the mighty Alpha’s mate seeks refuge under the Snow Leopard’s protection," Leon mused, his voice dripping with disdain. "How quaint."
Leon did not know of the arrangement between Soren, Riven and Ronan. So to him, it looked like he was staying with Soren until the matters in the Wolf clan settled down.
He turned to his most trusted advisor, a man who always went along with his schemes, "Deploy our spies. I want eyes on Riven at all times. Learn his routines, his guards, everything."
Kael bowed. "As you command, my king."
Leon chuckled, envisioning the chaos his plan would unleash. "What would happen if the Master of the Snow Leopard Clan loses the Alpha’s mate? A war between Ronan and Soren, perhaps? Delicious."
In the heart of the Snow Leopard Clan’s city, Riven strolled through the marketplace, unaware of the eyes tracking his every move. The spies were confused at how close Soren and Riven acted, but based on their information, Riven was Alpha’s mate... Maybe Soren is showing warmer... Hospitality?
They reported back to Kael, who compiled the information meticulously.
"Riven hadn’t come out in three days, but since then, he had been visiting the shopping district regularly."
Riven did not know that being an incredible foodie would bite him in the back. His predictable movements, especially his regular visits to the restaurant, made him an easy target for those watching.
He became a regular at several cafes and boutiques, but there was one restaurant in particular that captured his heart. It was the same one Soren had taken him to on their first dinner date after everything—an elegant establishment with warm lighting, fine cutlery, and a view of the city skyline.
It served the most decadent desserts and the juiciest meat platters. Riven tried everything on the menu over time, and the staff already began greeting him by name, sometimes slipping him extra pastries with a wink.
He was not the one footing the bill, so of course he wanted to try everything!
From morning to after lunch, Soren worker, and after that, he was free.
Riven did not question it. He was not disappointed either, he enjoyed alone time.
He trusted Soren completely and didn’t worry about his absence.
But Soren worried. He had received reports—disturbing ones. Spies had been spotted in the territory, blending in as merchants and travellers. They weren’t subtle, not to his eyes. What disturbed him more was the discovery that they were watching Riven, tracking his steps, noting his patterns.
Their target was clear.
Soren had kept this from Riven. He didn’t want to alarm him or ruin his time here. His place should not be associated with anything dangerous.
