Hero Hack: Reversing Heroes and Raising Harem-Chapter 100: One Dog Barked
Chapter 100: One Dog Barked
Gurrak roared, fully transformed into his wolf-beast form.
His thoughts were gone.
Only rage remained.
His claws tore through the air with blinding speed.
Velra activated Waltz Zone.
But Gurrak was no longer a normal fighter.
He was a beast.
He charged like a monster freed from chains.
Velra ducked under his first swipe, flipping backward.
He followed.
She spun.
Spinning Kick.
Layered Venom Trace mid-air. Her heel brushed his chest.
He didn’t even flinch.
Then came the counter.
Gurrak turned and slammed into her with his shoulder.
She was thrown across the battlefield, crashing into stone.
Blood spilled from her mouth. freeweɓnovel.cøm
"Even with the zone... he’s adapting."
Gurrak growled low and charged again.
Velra slid sideways.
Quick Step.
Leaving behind a flicker of Blade Trace.
He passed through it and took a light cut across his thigh.
No reaction.
She turned toward him.
"I’m not letting you take this from me."
Waltz Zone pulsed again.
She moved like liquid steel.
Hard Kick to the ribs.
Afterimage Trace flickered behind her, baiting his swipe.
He lunged—hit the echo.
She spun full force.
Spinning Kick, stacked with Venom Trace and Shock Trace.
The strike landed on his jaw.
Gurrak snarled—dazed but not down.
He grabbed her leg mid-spin.
"AHHH—!"
He slammed her into the ground. Once. Twice.
Blood sprayed. Her body felt broken.
No... not yet...
She bled.
And Blood Sync awakened.
Pain became power.
Reflexes returned sharper than ever.
She leapt to her feet.
He charged one last time.
Velra darted forward—faster than before.
Waltz Zone spiraled around her, slowing him just enough.
She jumped—twisting in the air—
And landed a devastating Spinning Kick across the side of his neck.
Every enhancement firing at once.
CRACK.
Gurrak’s body froze.
Then collapsed.
Dead.
Velra dropped to her knees, gasping.
"The last..."
She smiled through the blood.
"...sacrifice."
Then she collapsed.
---
Zain stepped calmly out of the mirror.
He walked over and looked down at Velra.
Her body was bruised and filled with injuries.
Zain crouched down and ran a hand through her hair.
"...Good job."
But just as he reached out to lift her, something shifted.
The air changed.
A deep pressure pulsed from behind.
Zain paused.
He didn’t even need to turn to know.
"...Took you long enough."
He stood slowly.
From the shadows a tall figure stepped in.
A tall, cloaked, furred figure with yellow eyes.
The same wolfman who once rescued Scavratt.
Now, he stood at the edge of the battlefield.
His gaze fixed on the corpse of Gurrak.
The wolfman’s lips curled into a low snarl.
"You... killed him."
Zain didn’t flinch.
He tilted his head, then smirked.
"Oh. You’re late."
The wolfman took a step forward.
His claws twitching beneath the sleeves of his long coat.
"He was ours. He was one of us."
Zain’s tone didn’t change.
"Yeah, well..."
He gestured at the corpse lazily.
"...he’s one of mine now. Rotting with the rest."
The wolfman’s breathing grew heavier.
"You mock us—?"
Zain grinned wider.
"Of course I do. You people collect failures like pets."
"First Scavratt... now Gurrak."
He tapped his temple.
"Maybe next time, show up before your little dogs die screaming."
The wolfman’s eyes narrowed into slits.
"You’ll regret this."
Zain tilted his head and grinned.
"I doubt it."
He then locked eyes with the beast before him.
"But now that I remember you..."
Zain’s grin widened, cruel and slow.
"You might make a very nice meal."
The wolfman snarled.
But Zain didn’t wait.
A pulse of pressure rolled out from him.
The wolfman froze.
Zain’s body began to glow faintly with a red-black light.
And then—
Two curved horns burst from his head.
His eyes glowed with raw power.
The air around him crackled with quiet force.
The wolfman stepped back.
"You’re... not a normal one."
Zain smiled, now with fangs barely visible.
"No."
He took one step forward.
"I’m the one your kind was told never to cross."
The wolfman bared his teeth.
Zain raised a hand.
"So. You still want to test your luck?"
The wolfman didn’t answer.
He just bared his teeth and grew his body.
His spine cracked, arms stretching, claws lengthening.
His already beastlike features became full-on monstrous.
"You killed Gurrak."
"Now I’ll take your heart."
Zain only smirked, waving his hand.
"Try it."
The two launched forward at the same time.
The first blow echoed across the broken cityscape.
CRASH!
Claw met palm.
Zain’s arm pulsed with red light as he caught the wolfman’s swing.
Hard Grip locking it down mid-air.
He drove his knee into the wolfman’s gut.
The beast stumbled.
But only for a second.
The wolfman twisted his arm free, slashed downward with both claws.
He cut through Zain’s coat and side in one clean motion.
Blood sprayed.
Zain hissed, jumping back and aiming his pistol.
BANG—BANG—BANG!
Each shot.
Blast Breath bullets.
Struck the wolfman center mass.
Explosions rocked the field, smoke rising.
But the wolfman leapt from the smoke, unharmed.
He landed on Zain with a snarl, smashing him into the pavement.
THUD!
Zain coughed blood, then activated Mirror Step.
He vanished, reappearing behind the wolfman.
He delivered a kick into his spine.
It worked.
The wolfman grunted.
But he turned faster than Zain could react.
SLASH!
Claws raked across Zain’s chest.
Zain grunted and stumbled back, blood dripping from his lips.
"You’re fast."
The wolfman stepped forward, drool hanging from his mouth.
"You’re weaker than I expected."
Zain wiped his chin, then grinned.
"Yeah. But I haven’t even started yet."
His aura burst outward.
And in a blink, Quick Step activated.
But he didn’t dash behind the wolfman.
He vanished.
Reappeared silently behind Velra’s unconscious body.
The wolfman’s eyes widened.
Zain looked down at her, picking her up.
"Sorry, furball," he said.
"Turns out I was a bit weaker than expected."
Then he vanished again.
This time, he reappeared in front of a cracked mirror.
The surface shimmered as he reached toward it.
He turned his head over his shoulder.
He gave the wolfman a lazy wave.
"Bye-bye."
The wolfman snarled, his chest rising and falling with fury.
"Damn you, demon...!"
Zain smirked as the mirror glowed.
He vanished through the mirror’s surface.
Gone in an instant, along with Velra’s body.
The wolfman howled in pure rage.
But the battlefield was empty. He was too slow. Again.
