Chapter 157: They Talked Smack. Got Smacked.

The A-Rank heroes frowned, stepping back a bit as they watched the three women in black and red suits move closer.

One of them leaned in and whispered to the others, "Hey... you heard the same news I did, right?"

"Yeah," the second one muttered.

"That new villain group... led by the Velvet Demon."

The third nodded. "They say she wears tight black and pink."

They looked at the women in front of them again.

The colors were a little different, black and red.

But the design, the feel, the attitude...

It was too similar.

One of the heroes spoke louder.

"Hey! You three. Are you with the Heavenly Demon group?"

The girls didn’t reply.

They didn’t need to.

Their calm eyes and smug smirks were enough.

The lead hero scoffed. "Yeah, that’s what I thought."

The second one scratched the back of his head.

"What do we do? Fight or run?"

The third one laughed. "Are you serious? We’re A-Rank heroes." ƒreewebɳovel.com

"Yeah," the first said, stepping forward.

"This is just a few members. Not the Velvet Demon herself."

"This is the perfect chance. If we beat them, we’ll get points—credit."

The second one grinned. "And let’s be honest, their bodies..."

He whistled, looking them up and down. "Too sexy to waste."

The third one laughed. "I wouldn’t mind pinning one of them down."

The girls still didn’t respond.

But their eyes grew colder.

Their stances shifted.

Heels digging in, hands flexing, ready to move.

One of the heroes cracked his knuckles.

"Let’s go. They picked the wrong heroes to mess with."

The second pulled out a chain weapon.

"We’ll break them and drag what’s left back to base."

The third raised his fists.

"Let’s see what the Heavenly Demon Sect is really made of."

Still calm, one of the women finally spoke, her voice soft but clear.

"You talk too much."

The other added, "Let’s see how long you last."

The third smiled, low and slow. "Try not to cry when your pride breaks."

The battle was about to begin.

And the heroes had no idea they were already in checkmate.

---

The three A-Rank heroes stepped forward, each grinning with overconfidence.

The girls from the Heavenly Demon Sect stood their ground, silent and calm, their bodies ready, their eyes cold.

Blaze Talon, the leader, smirked and pointed toward one of the girls with a lean, muscular frame and short black hair.

"You. You’re mine," he said, flames sparking around his fists.

She didn’t respond.

She simply stepped forward, raising her hands into a fighting stance, her eyes locked onto him.

Iron Coil swung his chain around lazily.

"Guess I’ll take the quiet one," he said, eyeing the second girl with long red hair tied in a loose ponytail.

She cracked her neck and rolled her shoulders, unfazed.

Stonehide Jackal stomped forward, facing the third girl, who was slightly taller and stood with perfect posture.

"Let’s see how much that perfect body can take," he growled.

The three pairs separated, each moving into their own corner of the ruined street.

Blaze Talon grinned.

"Just so you know, I don’t hold back just because you’re pretty."

The girl in front of him still said nothing.

"Tch, fine," he muttered. "Let’s get started."

He charged forward, fist blazing.

She dodged fast—so fast it shocked him.

She wasn’t using any flash or power... just clean, raw speed.

His punch missed.

"What the—?"

She spun around and delivered a kick to his ribs.

He stumbled back, surprised by her strength.

"Fast and strong," he muttered. "Not bad."

Meanwhile, Iron Coil cracked his chain and lashed it forward.

The red-haired girl jumped sideways, landing lightly on her feet.

Her eyes followed every move.

He grinned. "You’re light on your toes."

She rushed in.

He flicked the chain again, but she dropped low, sliding under it and throwing a punch to his side.

He winced, barely stepping back.

"Sharp eyes too, huh?"

Stonehide Jackal charged his opponent. "Come on then! Hit me!"

The tall girl didn’t hesitate.

She dashed forward and slammed her shoulder into his chest.

He barely moved, but his eyes widened.

"That actually hurt?"

She followed with a spin-kick to his thigh. He grunted.

"These girls... they’re not using any flashy powers..."

Blaze Talon snarled and threw a flame punch again, this time aimed at the girl’s head.

She tilted her body just enough for it to pass, then jabbed him in the gut.

"Fast little—!" he hissed, stepping back.

Iron Coil swung wide again.

His opponent ducked under the chain and countered with a low kick to his ankle, sending him off balance.

Stonehide Jackal raised both arms to block another heavy strike but staggered again.

The girls had no fancy attacks, no glowing abilities.

But they moved fast, hit hard, and never hesitated.

The A-Rank heroes began to frown.

"Something’s wrong," Blaze Talon muttered.

"They’re just using speed and power," Iron Coil said.

Stonehide Jackal growled. "We underestimated them."

And the girls... they hadn’t even started going all out yet.

One of the girls smirked as she ducked a chain swing and landed a clean punch on Iron Coil’s chest.

"This is A-Rank hero strength?" she said calmly. "Disappointing."

The tall girl fighting Stonehide Jackal kicked him in the ribs and stepped back.

"You talk big, but you’re slow."

The black-haired girl dodged another flaming fist and whispered.

"You’re not even worth breaking a sweat."

The three heroes froze.

Their faces twisted with anger.

"Damn it," Blaze Talon growled. "How dare you mock us?!"

Iron Coil pointed at the red-haired girl.

"You think you’re tough just because you can dodge?"

"If not for your sexy body—" Stonehide Jackal snarled.

Blaze Talon stepped forward, flames rising again.

"We’ve had enough. Now we’re gonna be serious."

Iron Coil licked his lips.

"And once we’re done, we’ll make sure you never forget what we taste like."

The red-haired girl tilted her head, unimpressed.

The black-haired girl smirked.

And the tall one stepped forward.

"Come if you can," she said coldly.

"We’ll break more than your pride."
