Hero Hack: Reversing Heroes and Raising Harem-Chapter 169: Blink If You Love Violence
Chapter 169: Blink If You Love Violence
Velra spun through the sky, her body bouncing from hit to hit.
Each time she tried to steady herself, Skybrand vanished again and reappeared behind her, striking fast and clean.
A kick to the back. A slash across the shoulder. A knee to the stomach.
The air cracked with every impact, but Skybrand showed no sign of slowing down.
Velra finally flipped midair, forcing herself to stop.
She hovered in place, breathing hard, her suit scorched in several spots.
One arm hung lower than the other. Her lip was bleeding.
She looked up, eyes locked on Skybrand.
Skybrand floated calmly above her, wind swirling gently around her boots.
Her expression hadn’t changed. Calm. Focused. Almost bored.
Velra frowned hard. Her hands clenched into fists.
She could feel that Skybrand wasn’t even going all out.
They were both AA-Rank, yes.
Their stats were high. Their strength matched on paper.
But Skybrand wasn’t even trying.
Velra wiped the blood from her mouth with the back of her hand.
"Damn you," she muttered, her voice shaking with frustration.
"You’re just playing with me."
Skybrand didn’t respond.
She tilted her head slightly.
"Of course I am."
Velra’s eyes narrowed. "What did you say?"
Skybrand gave a small shrug, her wings flickering behind her.
"You’re not worth full strength yet."
That sentence stung more than any punch.
Velra growled.
She shot forward with a burst of energy, aiming a powerful roundhouse kick toward Skybrand’s ribs.
Skybrand blinked away effortlessly, reappearing behind her again.
But this time—Velra didn’t stop.
She twisted midair and fired off a spinning back kick.
Skybrand caught it.
But Velra smirked.
With her other leg, she launched a knee straight into Skybrand’s chest.
Skybrand let go and floated back a few steps, finally pushed off balance for the first time.
Velra dropped down to a rooftop below, landing hard but steadily.
She looked up.
"No more games," she said.
Skybrand adjusted her stance in the air, wings spread, eyes narrowing.
"Fine," she said, her tone sharper now.
Then she vanished again—faster than before.
Blink.
She reappeared behind Velra in an instant.
Velra’s eyes widened. "What the—?!"
Before she could even turn fully, Skybrand slammed a spinning kick into her side.
She sent her crashing through a half-broken wall on a rooftop nearby.
Velra gritted her teeth as she hit the ground, rolled, and pushed herself up again.
"What the hell... how can you be faster now?" She muttered, coughing slightly.
Skybrand didn’t respond.
She was already above her, blinking again, launching another flurry of hits.
Velra tried to guard, but each strike kept her off balance.
Just like before.
A hit to her back. A strike to her ribs. Another to her leg.
Skybrand blinked behind her again, ready for one more blow—
But then—
She froze mid-air.
Her body locked up. Not completely, but enough that her movement stalled.
Skybrand frowned. "What... what is this?"
She tried to blink again, but her wings faltered slightly. Her arm wouldn’t move.
Down below, Velra slowly stood, brushing blood from her lip, smiling.
"Oh, I forgot to mention..."
Skybrand’s eyes narrowed.
Velra raised her hand. "Even when I’m getting thrown around, I’m still thinking."
Skybrand’s gaze shifted behind her.
Then she saw it.
Faint glowing marks in the air.
Lines of energy left behind from Velra’s earlier wild movements.
Velra smirked. "I laced the air with traces. Paralysis type."
Skybrand growled softly, struggling as her muscles slowly broke free.
Velra continued, "They only freeze you for a second... But sometimes, that’s all I need."
Skybrand clenched her fists. "Smart trick."
"But don’t think this will stop me."
With a sharp breath, Skybrand flexed her entire body.
Wind erupted around her, and with sheer force, she broke free from the first paralysis trace.
But the moment she tried to move again—
Snap.
Another invisible trap locked around her mid-movement.
Her limbs stiffened, and she froze again.
Skybrand gritted her teeth. "What?!"
She struggled, forcing her hand to move, but her strength was dropping fast.
Then she felt it.
A burning tingle crawled through her veins.
Not just paralysis—poison.
Velra grinned from the rooftop below.
"Oh, did you think I only left one kind of trace?" She said sweetly,"And only a few?"
Skybrand’s eyes widened.
"You layered them..."
Velra nodded proudly.
"Different types. Different effects."
"All scattered around the air from the start of our fight."
Skybrand’s body shook as she broke free again, but this time, slower.
Her breathing was uneven. Her energy felt off.
"You poisoned me," she said through clenched teeth.
Velra placed her fingers on her cheek and tilted her head.
"Mildly. Enough to slow you. Not kill you."
Skybrand’s fury exploded across her face. "You planned this from the beginning."
Velra stepped forward, smiling wider.
"Of course. You’re fast, but I knew I couldn’t beat you head-on."
Skybrand’s hands shook. "You... used me."
Velra giggled. "No, no, don’t say it like that."
Then her voice dropped low.
"I studied you."
Skybrand’s face twisted with rage.
Velra’s smirk grew cold. "You’re beautiful when you’re angry."
She turned away, smiling.
"But now I need to withdraw. My girls are tired."
Skybrand forced herself forward, trying to follow.
But her knees buckled in the air, her flight unsteady.
Velra looked over her shoulder, eyes glowing.
"Next time, I’ll win. And when I do..."
She smiled again, wider this time, her voice soft but sharp.
"I’ll turn you into my slave."
Skybrand’s eyes narrowed with fury.
Velra winked. "So wait for that, okay... my darling Skybrand."
Then she turned and vanished, sprinting across the rooftops while taking her injured girls.
Skybrand hovered in the sky, fists clenched, wings twitching with unstable windfire.
Her muscles were still tense, her blood still laced with the lingering effects of poison.
She gritted her teeth, eyes burning as she stared at the spot where Velra had disappeared.
"Damn it..." she muttered.
Her breath came in short bursts, not from exhaustion—but from anger.
"That woman... mocking me... and escaping again?"
Her voice rose.
"I’ll crush her next time. I swear it."
