Chapter 174: Corpse Room Cleared

Zain crossed his arms and looked at Velra.

"So," he asked, "how about the corpses? Did the girls manage to collect enough?"

Velra nodded confidently. "Yes, Master."

"Skybrand only attacked a few girls and we still have over 300 girls active here."

"So, even with a few injured, we managed to gather a good number of corpses."

Zain tilted his head. "Hmm... what kind? Heroes? Villains?" freёweɓnovel.com

Velra raised one finger.

"Mostly beasts. About [80%] are beast corpses."

"The rest are a mix of rogue heroes and weak villain squads."

Zain smirked. "That’s fine. As long as they’re corpses, they’re usable for me."

He cracked his knuckles. "Show me the way."

Velra turned and motioned with her hand. "Follow me, Master."

She led him down a long hall, past resting girls, supply stacks, and a large sealed door at the end.

With a quick swipe of her badge, the door opened slowly.

The cold hit them first.

Inside, the chamber was dark and cold, lit by blue crystals in the corners.

Rows of preserved bodies, beasts, humanoids, and hybrid monsters.

They were stacked and tagged.

Zain stepped inside, hands in his pockets, and took a look.

He frowned.

"Not... a lot," he muttered.

Velra followed in behind.

"About 1,000 corpses total, Master. It’s not as many as before."

Zain raised an eyebrow. "And this is after a whole month?"

Velra nodded. "Yes. The number has dropped. Everyone’s more careful now."

"Heroes are moving in teams, villains have pulled back."

"The Hero Association had even sent an [AA-Rank] hero with a [Class]."

She crossed her arms.

"Even villains might have started sending one with a [Class]."

Zain scratched his head.

"Hmm... so the entire food chain is getting smarter."

Velra nodded. "Yes, Master. The easy days are over."

Zain glanced around again. "Still... a thousand is decent."

He sighed. "Let me think about what to do next."

He rubbed his chin for a moment.

"For now, just rest."

"Also... remind me. Where’s my room in this place?"

Velra gave a small smile.

"If you want to rest, just ask one of the girls. They’ll escort you."

Zain raised an eyebrow. "Escort me?"

"Yes, Master," Velra said.

"They’ve already been told."

"You’ll be given the safest and best room in the entire base. No one else uses it."

Zain nodded, smirking.

"Good. I’d hate to sleep near the corpse room. That smell sticks to you."

Velra chuckled. "It does. Even perfume doesn’t help."

Zain then turned to look over the mountain of corpses piled in the storage chamber.

"Alright," he said, cracking his knuckles.

"These guys are going to fuel my next upgrade."

He waved a hand toward Velra without turning.

"Velra, just go rest."

"You still need to heal your mind after that fight with Skybrand."

Velra stepped back respectfully. "Yes, Master."

"But remember, if you need anything—food, water, a report... just ask one of the girls."

Zain nodded. "Got it."

She paused for a second and glanced at the corpses.

She then added, "Also... please don’t force yourself so hard, Master."

Zain glared over his shoulder. "Don’t worry!"

"I am your master and the Heavenly Demon!"

Velra bowed slightly, hiding her smirk.

"Of course, Master. Just looking out for your... well-being."

With a light chuckle, she walked out.

Zain turned back toward the room, clapping his hands once and took a deep breath.

"Alright, system," he whispered. "Time to start the feast."

He raised his hand slowly, palm facing the ceiling.

"Let’s turn these corpses into [Hack Points].

One by one, the corpses began to vanish.

Faint light wrapped around each body, and they dissolved into glowing particles before being absorbed into Zain’s system.

The air in the room pulsed with energy.

Zain watched the floating screen, smirking wider as the numbers ticked up second by second.

10,000,000... 12,000,000... 15,000,000.

He exhaled slowly. "Finally..."

He stepped back as the last corpse vanished.

"I’ve passed ten million," he whispered.

"Now I’ve got enough to get a [Royal Class]."

He looked at his hand, flexing his fingers like he was already feeling the upgrade.

"No more waiting. No more playing catch-up."

He laughed a little to himself.

"Velra becoming my first slave? Making her build the Heavenly Demon Sect?"

He pointed to himself with a smug grin.

"Best. Plan. Ever."

He walked out of the chamber humming a cheerful tune.

"You know," he said to himself, "everyone thinks I’m just naturally talented."

He glanced at the ceiling dramatically.

"If only they knew I’ve been cheating this whole time with the [Hero Hack System]."

He snapped his fingers.

"Next stop—[Class Awakening]."

He turned around, clearing his throat and called out toward the hallway.

"Hey! Someone get in here!"

A few seconds later, one of the slave girls entered the chamber, followed by another.

Their eyes widened the moment they saw the empty room.

"What... happened to all the corpses?" one of them whispered.

The other one elbowed her. "Shh! Don’t ask!"

Zain smirked and pretended to yawn.

"Yeah, they’re gone. Vanished. Supernatural stuff. Nothing suspicious here."

The girls looked at each other but wisely said nothing.

They already knew better than to ask questions.

Zain stretched his arms. "Escort me to my room."

"Yes, Master!" they said together.

They quickly moved to his side, one taking the lead and the other walking slightly behind.

Zain chuckled.

"See? No messy cleanup, no boring explanations, and no annoying paperwork."

The girls stayed silent... but they nodded quickly.

They still had no idea what just happened, and they weren’t going to ask.

They were just slave girls with no family or past.

They only needed to be good girls to survive in this cruel world.
