Chapter 188: Should I be worried?

"I know. I was wrong. En. I should have called you last night, sorry about that. En, I understand. I was wrong."

Ravi heard the stifled laughter of the man sitting opposite him and he reached out to touch his arm, twisting the bit of skin.

"Aaah!" Arlen cried out and Ravi rolled his eyes.

"Is the Captain there?" Asher’s voice sounded in his ears and Ravi stood up to walk to the window.

"En."

There was a little silence but at least the child was not scolding him anymore, Ravi could not recall the last time he had been scolded like this. It just made him feel warm.

"Okay. You sound better than you did yesterday. Are you feeling better, Ravi?"

Ravi raised a brow, he had gone out of his way not to worry Asher, to think that he had noticed, "I am feeling better."

"That is good. Ravi, thank the Captain for his gift."

"I will. How was yesterday? Have you had breakfast? There are leftovers in the fridge, the second compartment, did you see it?"

"Yes, don’t worry Ravi."

"Okay. So what are you guys doing now?"

"I just finished my Maths lesson with Lana, we are playing monopoly."

Ravi accepted the cup of water from Arlen, drinking a bit and giving it back to him.

"The four of you?"

"No. We don’t play with Malik. It is no fun."

"Now, little Ash that is just rude." Malik’s voice sounded through the receiver and Ravi chuckled.

"Study well, I will come back today. Do you need anything from the store? Any snacks."

"My potato crisps have finished and...just the potato crisps."

"Potato crisps, got it. Give the phone to Malik."

A few seconds later, a gentle male voice sounded on the phone, "I gave you privacy last night. How was it? Had fun?"

The familiar prodding of Malik’s energy was missing, no wonder. Ravi shook his head, "No. Something happened. I will tell you later. Malik." He moved closer to the curtain, "Are you a therapist or a psychiatrist?"

"I have a Phd in clinical psychology but Ravi, I always use my abilities on my client."

"Okay."

"Okay? Really? You know what you are agreeing to."

Ravi suddenly wished that he had told Malik this in person if anything but to see the look of shock that would glaze that impeccable gentle mask. A missed opportunity, "En."

There was a few seconds and then Malik spoke again, "It would not be pretty."

"En."

"It would be expensive. I am one of the best, after all."

"Malik."

"NO need to get your panties in a twist. It would not be that expensive. Besides, the thing you hired me to do, I have the information here. When you get home, you can look at it."

Ravi swallowed, "Is it bad?"

"Not that much. Well, maybe I should not be the one to talk. My empathy level is quite very low."

"You are a psychic."

"I did not know that." There was a hint of sarcasm in that gentle voice and Ravi rolled his eyes.

"See you later."

"Wait!"

Ravi’s fingers that were about to hang up paused and then he heard, "I would also like some potato crisps, some hazelnut cookies, I like the Healthy brand, I would also like...Ravi, don’t hang up. Not when you owe me."

Ravi gritted his teeth and he recalled that he was indeed owing Malik, a fact the other did not hesitate to hang over his head. He listened impatiently for him to list all the snacks that he wanted him to buy before he pushed out a, "Got it!" From clenched teeth.

"Alright. Wishing you a beautiful day, Ravi." Malik said amicably before he hung up.

The door opened it and Arlen came inside carrying two packages of food, "What is it? Did anything happen with Asher?"

"No. It is Malik. He can be so annoying." Ravi sighed before slipping the phone into his pocket.

Arlen paused, "Malik, the doctor, your neighbor."

"En."

Arlen dropped the food on the table and came over to him, he put his hand around Ravi’s waist, "Should I be worried?"

Ravi looked at him, blinking, "Of Malik. That man is crazy. You should instead feel sorry for the person he likes." He then recalled that the person Malik’s eyes were on was his lover’s unfortunate brother. He felt a little guilty and coughed, "He is not all bad. He can be a gentle lover, I am sure. Not that I know, I guess, No, I..."Ravi was not sure how to fix this.

Arlen chuckled and ran his thumb across Ravi’s lower lip, the tender movement sending a shudder through him.

It never changed, the feeling of Arlen’s lips on his, it was electric, as intoxicated as the warm sun on his skin or the first scent of spring in the breeze but this kiss was a bit different from others. It was...

Arlen’s hand wrapped around Ravi’s neck as he devoured his kiss. Within seconds, the kiss went from tentative to scorching under Arlen’s guidance. Ravi’s legs turned to jelly at the stroke of Arlen’s tongue against his, at the tight grip at his neck and the steady heat stoked between them.

Ravi leaned against him until their bodies were flush against each other. Arlen kissed him like he was tattooing himself on his lips, the sheer strength carrying him away.

Ravi sucked on his lower lips, kissing back with the same intensity, risking the challenge. Oh How he loved the taste of this man, his lower stomach burned with desire as he thought just how much he wanted to lick him from head to toe. Soon, Arlen pulled away for a second and looked down at him.

Arlen’s lips quirked into a half smile when their eyes met. His blonde curls were tousled and his lips were wet, asking for a second kiss, "I know. He called early this morning to check up on you and he told me that he is..." Arlen did not know whether to laugh, "He is a soul-bound relationship. The kind where their souls are tied by a red string and can never be separated. I am not sure that is the kind of thing to be telling a police officer because he sounded."

Ravi was still breathing fast from the kiss and he had the desire to facepalm, "Insane. I know."

The two of them looked at each other and chuckled.

Ravi wrapped his arms around Arlen, "You do not have to be jealous of anyone, ever. You know that, right?"

"En."

"I love you, Min sol."
