I Am Tired Of Being A Hero-Chapter 187: A promise
Chapter 187: A promise
It was like watching a metamorphosis happen right in front of his eyes. Those dull hazel eyes transformed in front of him, turning sharp, like the blade of a sword before they settled on him. They instantly softened like a waterfall.
Has Ravi always been this tall?
Arlen knew that something had changed, the aura around Ravi had changed somewhat. All on his own.
Just this morning, Arlen had collected the number of some of the best psychologists in Avalon and had contacted them.
"Post-traumatic stress disorder, also known as war neurosis, is the psychological aftereffects that occur when someone has experienced murder, war, or a tragic accident. Some of the symptoms were memory loss, heart palpitation, nightmares, emotional dissociation, and obsessive recall of the past." That was the ase of the psychologist had told him and many of them had offered advice.
"He could get suicidal. You should bring him to the clinic."
Arlen looked at Ravi’s eyes and he could tell that the darkness and desperation that had filled his eyes yesterday had receded. His eyes were bright, like an unsheathed sword, indescribably strong enough to send chills down one’s spine but Arlen just smiled.
"Ravi." He called again, pulling him into a hug, "You are feeling better." It is not much of a question than it is an observation, "I was so worried."
It did not take a second before he began to act spoiled again.
Ravi rubbed his back, and breathed in the calming scent almost greedily as he spoke "I just remembered some past stuff. Sorry for worrying you but I am better now, I promise."
Arlen pulled away and looked at him, "Ravi, I think you should see a doctor. I would help in any way I can but...I think professional help might be more helpful." He had already prepared more than ten pages to convince Ravi. He blinked his eyes, planning all tactics to act cute and...
"En."
"I know it might,...En? You agreed."
Ravi nodded and held his clothes, "En. I will see a psychiatrist. I...will do my best and get better."
Arlen felt his throat dry, "I...there is no pressure."
"En."
"You being so obedient is scaring me, Ravi. En. En. Say something else." Arlen murmured.
Ravi felt helpless, "Arlen. Are you not making a fuss about the wrong thing? Shouldn’t you ask about what I said last night? About the fact that I am..."
"Don’t say it again." Arlen hastily pressed a finger on his lips, "I forbid it. Besides, No need to explain last night. I have already guessed."
Ravi’s eyelids twitched and he blinked twice, "You have already guessed."
"Arlen lifted his hand, covering his eyes gently to make him close them, and then quietly moved his fingers away to lay a kiss on his eyelids, "Didn’t I tell you, I have a book in my head filled with everything Ravi? To be honest, since you saved me in the hospital, I have an inkling about that. It was just ...too instinctive." He stopped there and pulled on the hem of his clothes to pull Ravi closer to himself, "You don’t need to tell the details when they are still so raw. Maybe one day, when we are older, we would get a few cans of beer and we would talk about it." His voice was calm and coaxing.
"Wine, not beer." Ravi said and Arlen smiled.
It was one of those full smiles that Ravi loved so much, "Wine. It is a promise." He raised his little finger and Ravi widened his eyes but faced with those blue eyes, he signed and then gently cuffed the finger.
"It is a promise, love."
Ravi nodded. An average human lived for 100 years, he would accompany him and then...
"Arlen, I want to buy a grave."
Arlen’s entire body froze, "You.,.You just promised to drink wine with me."
"What are you thinking? Asher is just 13 years old."
Arlen nodded, "And me, I am not even thirty, I am too young to be a widow so you can’t think of that. Ever. Promise me?"
"En. I promise. But the graves are not for me. They are for some other people."
"You are planning to kill some people and bury them."
Ravi was speechless.
"I would not stand in your way but they have to be bad people..."
"Arlen!" He called out, "I just want to bury some old comrades. Not kill myself or kill other people."
"Oh! I am just a little spooked."
Ravi looked at him, this is the consequence of him being so passive, "I am sorry to worry you so much but I would do that to you." His lips pursed and the words were so difficult to say, so hard that his ears turned red, "I would not leave you a widow."
"I did not hear you."
"Arlen!"
Arlen chuckled and then he caressed his hand, "I would look for the best location, on the hilltop overlooking the sea and the forest. And we can plant their favorite trees for them. I will take care of that, don’t worry."
Ravi nodded, "Thank you and Thank you for Asher too. Thank you for everything, Arlen."
"No need for thanks, I know good ways you could repay me." He grinned and his eyes licked through Ravi’s body from head to toe.
"Oh! What ways are that? Just how would you want me to repay you." Ravi challenged as he sat on the bed, leaning his head on the poster bed and looking at Arlen, his gaze hot and intense. He stared at him, slowly undressing him with his eyes. He then patted the bed, indicating for Arlen to sit down.
"You have not eaten since yesterday. I ordered food. Let me check if they have come."
"They haven’t. I can sense it if they do."
"Oh! The television is switched. The electricity..."
"I am sure that the Captain can spare a few dollars."
Arlen swallowed, feeling naked with that gaze on him. He looked at him with wide eyes, "Raviiii!"
It always worked.
Ravi chuckled, "Fine. I will let you go but Captain, next time I might not be so inclined to."
