Chapter 1215: Old beast
[REWIND]
"Miri, don’t cry." Sebastian waved the toy over the crib. "Your big brother is here. Please don’t cry anymore."
"Little Master, what happened?"
Sebastian gazed at the door and watched Miriam rush inside to carry Miracle.
"I don’t know. She just started crying so much!" Sebastian pressed his lips, gazing at the baby in Miriam’s arms. "Miriam, is she hurt? Should we take her to the doctor?"
Miracle was as white as snow and, with this fierce crying, her face was as red as a cherry. It worried both Sebastian and Miriam.
"It’s okay, my little miss. It’s okay." Miriam cajoled, but the baby was crying so loudly. She gazed at Sebastian, but she knew Sebastian wouldn’t hurt his little sister.
They could only wonder what happened to the little Miracle to be crying so much.
Sebastian, however, couldn’t help but feel this slight worry creeping into his innocent little heart. Miracle might be small and a baby, but she had a sharp intuition. Therefore, Sebastian knew his little sister must have felt the same ominous feeling he felt just now.

CRACK... CRACK...
Dominic’s surroundings dimmed and when he turned his head, he saw the wall collapsing right at them. He instinctively turned his back and shielded Hera from the fall.
He knew it was futile, both of them would be crushed. However, he didn’t think of that. All he could think of was to protect her, even if it was pathetic.
"I’m sorry," he whispered as he kept his eyes partially open, gazing down at her. "I’m sorry."
Dominic moved his head down until his lips were pressing on top of her head. Hera looked so relieved when she saw him, and he felt sorry that he had failed her. The thoughts of his children also overwhelmed him with guilt.
As Dominic thought about it, he suddenly snapped his eyes open.
"I can’t!"
With one last attempt, Dominic leaped without thinking and tried to dodge the collapsing wall. This might be futile as well, but he would truly let his wife and children down if he didn’t try until the end. Thus, despite the shadow casting down on them, Dominic ran as fast as he could.
"I..." he clenched his teeth, seeing some figures running in his direction ahead. "I...!"
Dominic timely slid on his knees with his head ducked. He didn’t know the extent of the collapse, but he knew that he still had to try. Disregarding the pain in his knees, Dominic held his wife close and shut his eyes.
Boogsh!
A little part of him expected some pain to come through. However, Dominic only felt a small thumb-sized concrete fall on his shoulder. He slowly opened his eyes, gazing up, only to see two shadows towering behind him.
"Shit...!" Tiger cursed through gritted teeth, holding off the wall from collapsing onto them.
"We made it," Bear, who was also holding off the wall, gazed down at Dominic and Hera. He sighed in relief, seeing that Dominic found her.
Nigel, who came in with Bear, stared at them in shock. His shock was misplaced, but he had seen everything. Just now, he saw Dominic running with Hera in his arms. When they thought he couldn’t make it, he slid on his knee and took advantage of the tilted surface to reach them in time.
At the same time, Tiger and Bear leaped. With their gigantic figures and long limbs, they managed to jump over Dominic and stop the wall from falling on Dominic and Hera. The timing, the quick thinking, and the effective actions astounded Nigel.
"Hey, what the hell is wrong with you?!"
Nigel flinched when Tiger’s voice clapped in his ears.
"Help them! This thing is a fucking wall, you know!?"
"Ah!" Nigel jumped and rushed to Dominic and Hera. "Come, let’s —"
Dominic suddenly coughed, stopping Nigel.
"Right!" Nigel quickly pulled out a mask and handed it to Dominic. But before he could give it to him, Dominic shook his head.
"Give it to her," Dominic said and coughed heavily right after. "She inhaled too much smoke — give it now!"
Nigel didn’t even have time to think, moving the shirt away from her face and then putting the mask on. As soon as he finished, another mask fell on Dominic’s side. When Nigel gazed up, he saw Bear’s mask was gone.
"Give that to Dominic!" Bear grumbled, focusing his strength on the wall. "Take them away now and Tiger, jump out!"
"What?!"
"Come on!!" Bear roared, making everyone flinch, as it sounded just as loud as the explosion.
Tiger clenched his teeth and glared at Nigel.
Receiving that glare, Nigel quickly put on the mask on Dominic and helped him out of the wall. Once they were in the safe area, Nigel gazed up at the two men.
’Now, this is the problem!’ Nigel panicked, knowing that neither of the two could leave without getting hurt. ’It’s already amazing it only took two men to hold off an entire wall, but if one of them leaves, then... that’s dangerous!’
"Tiger..." Bear called under his breath, only to hear Tiger’s whiny voice.
"Wait, godddamit!" Tiger clenched his teeth. His position was closer to the end of the wall. Hence, all he needed was to jump away. But if he did that, this wall would fall on Bear right away. "I’m going to jump away!"
"Don’t!" Nigel shouted on instinct. "If you do, that wall —"
Nigel couldn’t even finish, Tiger leaped away from the wall. He gasped in horror, watching the wall fall once more with Bear still underneath it. For a moment, time slowed down as Nigel watched that old beast get crushed by the collapse.
Although Bear seemed strong with such an incredible physique, there was no way he would survive that. Nigel was so shocked he didn’t notice the less worried look on Tiger’s face.
Boogsh!
Nigel jumped in surprise when the wall suddenly split. His eyes slowly dilated until they were almost out of their sockets, watching the old beast punch his way out of the collapse. Before he knew it, Bear already crawled out of the wall as if he was some sort of demonic entity crawling his way out of hell.
’This old beast... is he actually human!?’ Nigel thought in horror. ’If we didn’t side with Hera, those fists would crush us. He only needed to flick us for him to do that!’
