Chapter 1230: Goddamnit Hera!
"She’s a what?!"
The entire surrounding shook with the sound of their united voice. Fortunately, Hera was quick to adapt. Hence, she timely covered her ears as everyone gasped in horror. Even Dominic was taken aback. She forgot to mention it to him last night because she was too busy professing her love for him.
Charlotte massaged his nape and smiled awkwardly. "Hehe. My mother told me not to tell anyone. I’m sorry."
"Miss Charlotte, you are..." Nigel’s face turned pale. He had served the Oxley Family his entire life, but he never would have fathomed Charlotte was actually a boy!
If Nigel didn’t know about this, then one could already imagine the other’s shock. But the most horrified about this news was Ulysses.
’Did Hera just say... Charlotte... huh?’ the young man’s soul felt like it left his body.
Hera felt a little sorry for the young man, but she couldn’t blame him. Charlotte really had a feminine beauty and the voice and body of a petite girl. freewёbnoνel.com
"So, all this time... Florence hid the fact that she has a son?" Lukas blurted out in disbelief, but much to everyone’s dismay, Hera shook her head.
What was it this time?!
At this point, they were scared of what she would say next.
"Charlie is actually my uncle," Hera casually revealed. This time, both she and Dominic also covered their ears.
Charlotte was also shocked by this, her mouth wide open.
’What the hell is this reaction? Did they think we’re shooting a comedy skit or something?’ Hera scrunched up her nose while looking at their funny faces. So, she clarified, "The late master Oxley had an affair with his nurse and, miraculously, he was able to finally have a son."
Elliot fumed with this additional information that he couldn’t help but curse. "God damn it, Hera! Can’t you reveal everything in one go?! What’s with the suspense?"
"Oh, sorry. It’s the reason Florence killed the late master Oxley. I think she stabbed him...? Or did she beat a bedridden? Not quite sure..." Hera rubbed her chin as she racked her brain to think more.
Everyone just kept a wide eye.
She didn’t have to think more. What she already said was enough to startle them.
Ram glanced at Hera while she murmured some things she found out about the Oxley. Everyone else was already too traumatized by the information she revealed. But when his eyes caught the young Ulysses, Ram turned around and faced the wall.
He propped his arm up against the wall and rested his forehead on his arm. As soon as he did, his back started trembling.
Bear slid his eyes to him and sighed. He patted Ram’s trembling back and said, "You have cancer. Think about what cancer would feel if you died of laughter?"
Once everyone got back to their senses, the other leaders of the family couldn’t help but raise questions. Some tried to interrogate Hera, while others went to Charlotte. Some members of the Reapers, on the other hand, were just dying of suppressing their laughter.
Axel, who was on the side, quietly took a step back to remove himself from this chaos. However, just as he turned around, someone grabbed him behind the collar to stop him. When he looked back, he chuckled awkwardly.
"Hey, there, Mr. M"
A glint flickered across Moose’s eyes, lifting his chin as he haughtily said, "CEO Zhu, I heard you’ve been using my gift to Basti. You’ve used it for a few days. Do you think you can just use it without paying a daily fee for it? Come on, pay up."
Moose waved his hand like a bully, asking for his victim’s lunch money.
Everything was total chaos to the point Hera regretted revealing this. She mentally slapped her big mouth, making a mental note that when she revealed things next time, she would do it via phone. In that case, she could just hang up and block the number until she needed it.
After minutes, Hera and Dominic were able to sneak away and lock themselves in his ward. They already planned to leave after the meeting, but with all of this, they understood they had to wait until everyone settled down.

Meanwhile, Ivy stood outside of the Silvers Mansion to meet one of the search and rescue members of the Interpol. The person handed an urn to her, which she specifically asked to be delivered today.
"So, this is... Florence Oxley’s remains?" she asked soothingly, and the person nodded.
When she received the reports about finding Florence Oxley’s remains, Ivy made a special request to cremate it right away. After all, Florence’s body was crushed by the building — a death she brought upon herself.
The team had to do a thorough process to identify her because she was unrecognizable anymore. Hence, a cremation was only right.
"Thank you for delivering it timely," she expressed.
The person who delivered the urn just saluted while she walked back inside the mansion. As she entered, she coincidentally caught Charlotte and Nigel in the mezzanine. Charlotte looked paler and tired while Nigel assisted him.
"Charlotte," called Ivy and quickly took the stairs. When she reached the second floor, she approached the two with a subtle smile. "Is everything alright, Charlotte?"
Charlotte smiled weakly and nodded. "Yes. I was just... tired."
Nigel’s eyes brimmed with worry. How Hera casually revealed all those things was quite unfair; it was something they weren’t ready for. Not only did she reveal Charlotte’s real gender, but she also said Charlotte was Florence’s sister.
Charlotte was so shocked he nearly fainted. It wasn’t easy to accept that the woman he believed was his mother was actually his sister! Fortunately, the other families didn’t probe more when Nigel told them Charlotte needed to rest.
"Miss Wei, thank you for asking, but Miss Charlotte — ahem." Nigel paused and cleared his throat. But before he could correct himself, Charlotte raised a question.
"Sister Ivy, what is that you’re carrying?"
Her question reminded Ivy of her plans and walked toward her.
"When you came to the Zhu that night, I felt bad that I couldn’t be of help with your requests," Ivy smiled weakly. "But I know you were coming from a genuine intention."
Ivy carefully moved the urn to Charlotte. "She was found under the ruins, so it’s not possible to return her in one piece. However, I thought you still might want to host a burial for her."
