Chapter 57: The quickest renovation in history. ƒreewebɳovel.com

It had to be the quickest renovation in history. That was what Mei Mei was thinking when she returned to The Hollow after one week. The two buildings which were sitting on the land she had acquired looked almost brand new.

Under the pale light of the moon, she realized that half of the structure of the building had actually been changed to appear like a giant moon. The exterior had been stripped and replaced with sleek silver panels adorned with shimmering holographic lights that resembled distant stars.

The smaller buildings had been demolished and two short rocket shaped buildings now stood in place.

She moved through the building like a shadow because she did not want to be noticed. On the walls of the buildings were interactive holograms that were touch sensitive, displaying galaxies , meteor showers and a slide show of outer space. They even provided information on the planets that been discovered so far, constellations and mysteries of space.

They even included interviews with various astronauts and people involved in space projects going back at least sixty years. The interviews were up to date and the only person whose face or information was missing was Mo Liang.

Even when he appeared in a group video or photograph, his face was blurred. Mei Mei did not think that this was the work of the government office. She suspected that someone from her family had intervened and poured resources into this renovation.

Her original plan had cost a maximum of fifteen to twenty million yuan, this looked like a project into which at least one hundred million had been injected.

"System, let’s begin." she said.

The moon shaped building had twenty floors, she intended to divide the floors into theme zones. Each floor would have only one activity, two floors would be lounges for resting and eating. On one floor she would have offices for the workers.

The rocket shaped buildings would be the astronaut training areas, a souvenir shop and a stellar observatory. There was still a lot of space but for the moment, that was the plan she had.

"Send the equipment for the cosmic obstacle course to the second and third floors."

Alien swamp maze

Meteor dash

Space bridge walk

Rocket launch slide

Black hole crawl

Planet swing path

Cosmic laser crawl

Moon rock hop]

"Host your points are not sufficient for all the obstacles, you must choose which obstacles you want. You have a minimum of four pieces of equipment so far."

"Dammit."Mei Mei muttered. She thought it was as simple as choosing the obstacle course and everything would be provided. "Alright, give me two asteroid climbing walls, one for each floor, two swamps, two meteor dashes and two cosmic laser crawls."

"Host, it will take some time to arrange this, you will have to return tomorrow to witness the changes made by the system."

Out of thin air, robot butlers appeared and went to work.

"What else do you need? The system can also prepare a lounge and vending machines. The cost is three million only."

"Do it." she answered instantly. "I want a galactic planet pet simulator."

"Noted, but you must choose what pets you want. Not all pets are available for now choose from this list."

[Nebula foxes

Solar kittens

Plasma puffers

Cosmic jellies

Solar gliders

Astro canines

Star gold fish

Comet tails.

Cosmic parrots

Starry turtles

Lunar felines

Planet hoppers

Rocket rabbits

Sky owls]

"Again!! I have to buy the pet planet and the animals individually? Why didn’t you lead with this?" she exclaimed. She thought she had acquired enough points but she was wrong.

"Did you think it would be easy?" C4 asked.

Mei Mei sighed and she started making choices. The very choice she made was solar gliders because they resembled dragons with solar panel like wings. "Every child likes dragons." she mumbled.

She moved her finger on the virtual screen, avoiding the canines because they were basically dogs. "Lunar felines, they glow in the dark. Rocket rabbits because they are good at foot combat and are adorable. Starry turtles because their shells sparkle like a painting of the constellations and Cosmic parrots because they are vibrant and talkative. Children that are shy will love interacting with them."

She watched her points and money dwindle as the purchases were made. "Next, give me the space alien encounter game, three floors for this one. Fill them all with gaming equipment. When I earn more points, I will fill an entire building with this game."

More robot butlers appeared, their numbers were increasing to the size of a small army. They did not interact with her and they just went to work.

"What is a space camp without a zero gravity play ground? Give me one?"

[Floating dodge ball

Black hole dodge

Space tag

Comet catch

Comet kick

Orbit ball

Galactic relay

Planetary capture

Lunar bounce race]

"Use all of my points and give me everything you can." Mei Mei could not make a choice, every game was attractive. Orbit ball was zero-gravity soccer and children loved kicking balls around. Dodge ball was also fun as was planetary capture, a team sport in which teams worked together to capture the opposing teams floating lightweight planets. In the Lunar bounce race, players run and bounced off off walls, attached to harnesses.

In galactic relay, they bounced and run, passing glowing batons to others. She could not decide which game to pick so left it up to the system. When she made more points, she would buy more.

"You are going to need a bigger space for a zero gravity play ground. At least five floors must be connected, we are going to destroy some of the work that has been done. Is that permitted host?"

"Permitted." she said.

[Points: 0]

"You still have three hundred bonus points." C4 reminded her. "Might I suggest how they are spent?"

"Go on."

"A camp fire." C4 suggested.

It reminded Mei Mei of the one basic expectation of a camp, a camp fire and a pool.

"Dammit Mei Mei." she groaned. "How could you forget the basics?" she asked herself. "Can you give me a camp and zero gravity simulation swimming pool or any swimming pool that is space themed?"

"Your points are not sufficient for a zero gravity pool but I can give you a swimming pool with glowing water. You can upgrade it with points later. I will also do my best with the camp fire and make sure that you have holographic flames which dance, change color and emit heat.

You have run out of money and points, thank you for your patronage." C4 waved and vanished from the virtual screen.

Mei Mei’s shoulders sagged and a grimace appeared on her face. She felt incredibly tired as if she had just engaged in a physical task that was tiring.

Nevertheless, with this done, she figured that work could start soon and her idle days had come to an end. Tomorrow, she would bring Mingzhu over and officially open Pearl Space Camp.

She rode an elevator back to the ground floor, got on her motorcycle and rode out of The Hollow without being disturbed. It struck her as odd that the place which was known for being rowdy and stinky was not in those conditions anymore.

Someone had cleaned up The Hollow, moving out most of the residents, especially the troublesome ones. Mei Mei was not aware that new residents were moving in and she was being spied on in the dark by many different individuals working for many different parties.
