Married For Now-Chapter 67: LONG-OVERDUE CLOSURE
Chapter 67: LONG-OVERDUE CLOSURE
TO BE honest, Kim Heedo didn’t expect Park Sohee to be blunt with Lee Junsu.
But was he mad about it?
No, and that surprised him.
I’m usually sensitive when it comes to Lee Junsu, especially since Sohee Hyung basically asked Lee Junsu to stay out of our lives.
Park Sohee may have given valid excuses to cut off Lee Junsu.
But the end result is the same— Sohee Hyung wants Lee Junsu out of the picture.
"Is this alright with you, Heedo-ya?"
Actually, Heedo already had an answer before Lee Junsu even asked that question.
But he wondered why Lee Junsu asked that in the first place.
Does Lee Junsu think Sohee Hyung is crossing the line?
Heedo didn’t want Lee Junsu to think that Park Sohee was a meddling person.
I mean, Sohee Hyung can be nosy sometimes— but only if it’s for my sake.
"It’s fine with me," Heedo said, and he hoped both Lee Junsu and Park Sohee detected his sincerity. "Sohee Hyung has been hurt by my stalker who turned out to be your friend, Junsu-ya. Then he got hurt trying to help you, and Hyung only helped you because of me. We indirectly caused Sohee Hyung to be in those dangerous situations. That’s why I’m fine with whatever Sohee Hyung thinks is best to improve his luck."
"I only asked because I wanted to know if your grandfather is still controlling you through Park Sohee-ssi," Lee Junsu explained, and then he turned to Park Sohee. "Sohee-ssi, I hope you weren’t offended. I just wanted to make sure that Kim Heedo isn’t being controlled. Even though I don’t have the right to care about him anymore, I couldn’t help it."
Oh.
To say that Heedo was surprised to hear Lee Junsu say that he cared about him would be an understatement.
Not in a good way.
Because there was never a time I felt Lee Junsu care about me after our break up.
Was it just lip service for Lee Junsu?
Heedo wasn’t sure and, surprisingly, he didn’t care as much as he thought he would.
After I found out what happened to Sohee Hyung, and after knowing that he did what he did because he cared about me, something in me changed suddenly.
It was as if he finally woke up from a long nightmare.
"You don’t have to apologize to me. I have no control over your and Kim Heedo’s feelings," Park Sohee said in his usual chill tone. "The only thing I can control is how I react to your feelings. So, if you two realize that you still like each other, then now is the time to be honest with each other. Don’t be unfair to me and Sanha Hyung."
Okay, now that was upsetting.
Heedo turned to Park Sohee with knitted eyebrows. "Why is he your ’Sanha Hyung?’"
"Sanha Hyung is older than me," Park Sohee said defensively. "And he told me to call him ’hyung.’ What’s your problem, Kim Heedo?"
"I don’t like it. Just call him ’Sanha-ssi.’ You’re not close anyway."
"You’re just changing the subject, aren’t you?"
Ah, right.
Sohee Hyung did say something important.
"I chose Sanha Hyung, and I’m still choosing him today," Lee Junsu said firmly. "Sohee-ssi, you don’t have to worry about me. I have no intention of stealing Kim Heedo from you."
If Heedo was the same person from a few months ago, Lee Junsu’s harsh words would have crushed his heart all over again.
But he didn’t feel hurt anymore.
"You can’t steal a person, Junsu-ssi. He’s not an object. Our Heedo is his own person," Park Sohee said, patting Kim Heedo’s back. "He’s a big baby, but he’s still his own person."
Pfft.
Heedo couldn’t help but chuckle while shaking his head.
Being with Lee Junsu is painful and suffocating. But being with Sohee Hyung is easy. I know I shouldn’t compare the two because I was the reason my relationship with Lee Junsu became toxic. Maybe all I’m saying is Sohee Hyung helped me realize that I’m tired.
Tired of the non-existent relationship Heedo was clinging to.
I’m surprised Sohee Hyung has been patient with someone like me all this time.
"Junsu-ya, I’m sorry for making our relationship toxic," Heedo said in a voice full of remorse. "You made it clear from the very start that you didn’t want me anymore. But it was me who didn’t respect your decision. For that, I apologize."
Lee Junsu looked surprised at first, and then his eyes softened somehow. "Have you finally realized how tiring this entire thing is?"
"Yes, I want to stop this toxic non-existent relationship that I started."
"I know you two are in the middle of a serious conversation, but let me interrupt for a moment," Park Sohee said awkwardly. "I think this is my cue to leave."
"No, Hyung," Heedo said, holding Park Sohee’s hand to stop him from leaving. "Lee Junsu and I have nothing else to say to each other at this point. It’s long overdue, but we finally had a proper closure this time."
Yes, this was the end.
Heedo had no regrets.
There’s a sting in my chest, but it’s not as bad as I thought it would be.
In short, Heedo’s heart finally felt light after all these years.
This time, I’m sure I’m ready to move on.
"Heedo-ya, thank you for everything," Lee Junsu said, smiling faintly at Heedo. "And I’m sorry for breaking your heart."
"I should be the one apologizing for failing to protect you, Junsu-ya. I’m sorry for everything. And thank you for being patient with me," Heedo said, and he was being sincere this time. "I wish you and Sanha-ssi the happiness you deserve."

IT WAS a nice closure.
Having said that, Sohee couldn’t help but feel like something was still amiss.
After all...
Lee Junsu never said that he no longer has feelings for Kim Heedo.
"Hyung, you lost to me."
That was the first thing Kim Heedo said as soon as they returned to Sohee’s room.
In fact, he said that after tucking Sohee into bed.
He’s treating me like a child as if he wanted to prove that he’s not a big baby. But why is this brat suddenly picking a fight?
Sohee raised an eyebrow at Kim Heedo. "How did I lose to you?"
"We made a bet," Kim Heedo said while sitting on the chair next to the bed. "Have you forgotten about it, Adrenaline Junkie Hyung?"
Oh.
Being called an ’adrenaline junkie’ refreshed Sohee’s memories effectively...
<"When will you stop accusing me of being an adrenaline junkie?">
<"Once Hyung stops doing dangerous things.">
<"Do you want to make a bet? If I don’t get into any dangerous situation starting today until the entirety of the university festival, you’d never say the words ’adrenaline junkie’ again.">
Ah, shit.
"You’re the one who started the bet, Hyung," Kim Heedo said, smirking while crossing his arms over his chest. "Since you got into a dangerous situation during the university festival, it means you lost. You’re really an adrenaline junkie, huh? Do you enjoy being in a "drama" that much?"
Aigoo.
Look at this kid nagging at his hyung...
"Hyung isn’t listening."
"I don’t feel like being scolded by a younger dude."
"If you don’t want me nagging you, then stop being an adrenaline junkie. Hyung should just enjoy the drama from afar."
"Tsk. I get it, so stop nagging."
"Hyung, you didn’t forget about my prize for winning the bet, did you?"
Sohee wanted to pretend that he had forgotten, but the memory of the day they made a bet became clear in his head.
And it made him blush.
<"What do I get if I win the bet, Hyung?">
<"I’d let you do me raw.">
Oh, right.
I promised Kim Heedo I’d let him do me bareback...
"Don’t worry, Hyung. I won’t touch you until you’ve fully recovered," Kim Heedo said teasingly, and then he touched Sohee’s face— slyly sliding his fingers into Sohee’s mouth. "But I’m looking forward to it."
Sohee was embarrassed that a younger dude was teasing him like this, so he bit Kim Heedo’s fingers instead of licking them.
"Argh, Hyung!"

SOHEE wanted to get discharged, but Kim Heedo was adamant about having him stay in the hospital for at least one more day.
He didn’t want to make his husband worry, so he followed his wishes.
I heard Lee Junsu got discharged last night, though.
Anyway, the next morning, Sohee welcomed his visitors.
Kim Heedo didn’t leave until Hong Sera and Cho Euntak arrived.
"Hyung, Heedo Sunbae-nim must really care about you," Cho Euntak said while peeling tangerines. "There are two bodyguards guarding your room."
Haaah.
I asked Kim Heedo to withdraw the bodyguards because it’s embarrassing, but he pretended he didn’t hear me.
"Well, I was almost kidnapped," Sohee said, shrugging. "Anyway, I feel bad that I got kidnapped while we were busy. Euntak-ah, I’m sorry for leaving our booth to you. And I also feel bad for our entire class."
"It’s alright, Hyung," Cho Euntak said. "I’m just glad that you’re safe. Our classmates also wish you a speedy recovery."
"Aww. Thank you," Sohee said, and then he paused. "Kim Heedo also left his class’ pub to stay with me all night. I wonder if his classmates are as understanding as Euntak and our class."
"That might not be the case," Hong Sera said, sighing. "I bet Kim Heedo is being picked on by the sunbaes in their department who hate him for no reason."
"What?" Sohee said, clenching his hands. "How dare those bastards bully my husband?"
