Chapter 68: SLIP OF THE TONGUE

IT WAS a long day for Sohee.

Kim Heedo convinced him to get a general check-up, so he did. They waited for the result. And only then did his husband finally agree to let him go home.

Yeah, I’m being obedient to my husband since I fucked up.

Sohee didn’t want to be called an adrenaline junkie anymore, so he was determined to listen to Kim Heedo until that brat stopped thinking that he was suicidal.

And I can’t have a younger dude nagging at me at this age.

"Hyung, do you need help changing..."

Oh.

It was Kim Heedo.

Sohee didn’t actually close the door since he wanted the kid to see that he still could move on his own despite his injuries.

In fact, he had just finished taking off his buttoned shirt.

But Kim Heedo’s timing was off.

"I’m fine," Sohee assured the kid while looking for new clothes in the walk-in closet. "The bruises only look bad, but they’re not as painful as they look."

He rolled down the road after jumping out of the van.

Hence, it wasn’t a surprise that his entire body was covered with bruises. Worse, he also had abrasions here and there.

Yep, no wonder Kim Heedo looks shocked.

"Hyung, I’m really sorry."

"For what?" Sohee asked, laughing softly while shaking his head. "Heedo-ya, it was me and my stupidity. And maybe because I like you a little too much? Ah." He turned around and faced Kim Heedo who looked conflicted at the moment. "Are you sorry because you can’t reciprocate my feelings when I almost died for you?"

"..."

"Dude, don’t be. And it’s not like I sacrificed myself for you. Had I known I would end up jumping out of a moving van after helping Lee Junsu, I wouldn’t have done it."

"I’ll make sure you can never put your life in danger again, Hyung," Kim Heedo said determinedly. "It’s better late than never."

"Huh? Better late than never for what?"

"I’ll take care of you properly this time, Hyung."

"Oh, that sounds nice. I wonder how it feels to be spoiled by a younger man~"

"You’ll find out soon, Hyung," Kim Heedo said confidently. "Let’s start by getting you a new phone. I saw your phone and, uh, let’s just say I felt bad that my husband uses such an old model when I’m the heir to the biggest phone maker in South Korea."

Right.

Ilsung Group owns Ilsung Smartphones— one of the biggest phone brands in South Korea, along with that one foreign brand known worldwide.

Sohee couldn’t help but smile. "I can’t believe my sugar daddy is a younger man."

"I’m not your sugar daddy, Hyung," Kim Heedo said, scoffing. "I’m your husband."

Even better then.

"HYUNG, are you sure you want an Ilsung phone?"

Sohee raised an eyebrow at Kim Heedo. "If your grandfather heard you, he’d collapse from high blood pressure. Why did you sound disgusted when I chose an Ilsung phone over an Apol phone?"

After staying at home for an entire day to rest, Sohee was finally free to go out again.

The first thing Kim Heedo did was bring him to Ilsung Gangnam when Sohee said he wanted an Ilsung phone.

And, yes, Ilsung Gangnam is Ilsung’s flagship store in South Korea.

It was a 2,000-square-meter five-story building. fгeewebnovёl.com

Sohee and Kim Heedo were on the second floor where the latest Ilsung Universe smartphones, tablets, wearables, and other IT products were located. The floor also offered a significant presence of friendly and helpful staff members.

They don’t look snobbish, so I feel comfortable taking my time choosing the model that I want as my new phone.

"It’s not like that, Hyung," Kim Heedo said while scratching his cheek as if he was embarrassed, reminding Sohee of his question earlier that he almost forgot because he kept looking around the cool flagship store. "Your old phone was an Apol phone. So, I thought you’d want the same brand."

"My father hates anything related to Ilsung, so he got into debt just to buy us Apol phones in the past," Sohee said, shrugging. "But I’ve always wanted an Ilsung phone." He then carefully hugged the phone in his hands. "Especially this Universe A Fold23."

He was talking about Ilsung’s new foldable phone— the Universe A Fold23— known for its long-lasting battery, clear phone cameras that concert-goers swore upon, and powerful gaming features that even pro-gamers enjoyed.

"This phone is perfect for the new hobby that I decided to pursue."

Kim Heedo raised an eyebrow. "And what would that be?"

"I was too young and too poor to fanboy properly over my favorite male group before, so I wasn’t able to buy their albums and merch. I already ordered their old albums and merch, but I want to experience going to a concert," Sohee started with his story. "That’s why Hong Sera, Cho Euntak, and I decided to look for our new favorite group— one that is currently active so we could go to their concert or fanmeeting."

"How about Antiheroes?" Kim Heedo asked, pouting. "Aren’t you close to your "Sanha Hyung?""

Aigoo.

I wish this is Kim Heedo being jealous and not just him being a possessive Alpha.

"Are you trying to imitate GoldHee?" Sohee teased Kim Heedo, gently grabbing his husband’s face with one hand. "Your pout is longer than GoldHee’s beak."

GoldHee would be Sohee’s original character (OC).

It was inspired by his pet name for Kim Heedo— his precious golden goose.

"I’m not pouting," Kim Heedo denied, but he was still pouting like a kid. "My pouty lips are just proof that I’m GoldHee’s father."

"Excuse me? I gave birth to GoldHee, so I’m the father."

"You gave birth to him, so you’re the mother. We are GoldHee’s parents."

Sohee couldn’t refute that.

I’m the one who drew GoldHee, but Kim Heedo provided my drawing tablet.

"Fine. I guess you can be GoldHee’s father since you’re our provider," Sohee said, letting go of Kim Heedo’s handsome face. "Anyway, we want to support a new group. Antiheroes is already a successful group, so pass. We want to discover a new group with immense talent and potential to make it big in the industry."

"Good," Kim Heedo said approvingly while nodding his head. "But aren’t you getting too close to Sera and Baek Jeho’s friend, Hyung?"

"Baek Jeho’s friend is named Cho Euntak, okay?"

"Whatever."

"Why are you being mean to your fellow Alpha?"

"Do I have to treat that kid well just because we’re both Alphas?"

"No, do it for me because Cho Euntak is like a younger brother to me."

"Why is Cho Euntak your younger brother when you already have one... oh."

Sohee raised an eyebrow when Kim Heedo suddenly went pale after his slip of the tongue. "I have a younger brother?"

"..."

"Yah. You’ve already had a tongue slip, so you might as well come clean before I get angry."

"I found out when we were doing a background check on you, Hyung," Kim Heedo confessed, avoiding Sohee’s gaze. "According to our investigation, your mother remarried shortly after divorcing your father— and she had a son with her new husband."

Hah.

Sohee smiled bitterly while shaking his head. "I didn’t even know my mother and father have been divorced for a long time now."
