Chapter 70: CC (CAMPUS COUPLE)

"YOU REALLY didn’t have to change your phone just to match mine, Heedo-ya," Sohee said while watching Kim Heedo replace his phone wallpaper with an image of GoldHee that Sohee made. "You’re an Apol user, aren’t you?"

"Not anymore," Kim Heedo said casually. "And it’s not like this is my first time using an Ilsung phone. I only started using Apol phones because it was my way of rebelling against my grandfather in the past. It’s not like I’m attached to Apol or something."

Whew.

I’m glad that Kim Heedo isn’t forcing himself to change his phone preference just to match mine. I mean, I appreciate that he’s trying to match me. But I don’t want him to lose his identity just because we’re married.

Anyway, today was the day Sohee was finally coming back to school.

His bandages were already off, and he was totally fine now.

That was why he felt cheerful while having breakfast with Kim Heedo in their apartment.

My husband didn’t want me to cook, but he can only cook light dishes, so we just ordered from his favorite restaurant since I said I wanted a hearty breakfast.

Sohee was truly living the life.

"Hyung, let me borrow your phone for a minute."

Sohee handed his phone to Kim Heedo, no questions asked.

But maybe he should have asked why this brat needed his phone.

"Yah," Sohee complained when he saw what Kim Heedo downloaded in his phone. "Why did you install a tracker app on my phone? Just because we’re married doesn’t give you the right to know where I am 24/7."

"I knew Hyung would say that, so I also installed the same app on my phone," Kim Heedo said as if that was enough to make things better. "This is actually an app for parents who want to check where their children are if they have to."

"Why do we need that app?"

"Because Hyung is an adrenaline junkie."

"Excuse me?"

"Hyung enjoys in real life dramas so much that you don’t mind getting involved in other people’s businesses," Kim Heedo said firmly. "So, in case you get out of my sight and then you suddenly get in trouble, I want the assurance that I’d know where to find you."

Sohee wanted to complain, but his track records made him agree with Kim Heedo.

Tsk.

"Don’t worry, Hyung. I will only check your location if you don’t respond to my messages and calls for more than an hour," Kim Heedo assured him. "Of course, you can do the same. In fact, I don’t mind if you check my location often."

"No, thank you," Sohee said, waving his hand nonchalantly. "But fine. You can keep that app on my phone. But if you use that to stalk me, I’ll get mad. Understood?"

"Yes, Hyung."

After setting up the tracker app on their phones, only then did Kim Heedo return Sohee’s brandnew Ilsung phone.

I really love my phone— it’s so pretty and useful.

"By the way, Heedo-ya."

"Yes, Hyung?"

Sohee raised an eyebrow at his husband. "Have you checked the official entries for the YeonheeToon Awards? They’re already posted on the contest’s official website."

He was talking about the webtoon-making contest that he entered with Hong Sera and Cho Euntak.

The three of us are all cowards, so we haven’t checked the status of our entry yet.

"Yes, Hyung. I’ve already seen all the entries and read most of them," Kim Heedo said. "And I’ve already casted my vote."

Sohee gasped softly, but he couldn’t ask which entry did Kim Heedo vote for.

After all, we’re not allowed to say what our entry is...

Kim Heedo looked at Sohee, and then he burst out laughing.

"What?" Sohee complained. "Why are you laughing, you brat?"

"’Gacha Girl,’" Kim Heedo said, smirking. "That’s your entry, right?"

"I can neither deny nor confirm that since it’s against the rules."

"Aside from the fact that I know Hong Sera’s writing style, I recognize your art style, Hyung," Kim Heedo said proudly as if it was a huge feat for him. "Plus, our son made a cameo. The beloved childhood stuffed toy of the main character is our very own GoldHee."

Oh.

"You did your research well. Good job," Sohee said, pleased that his husband voted for the right webcomics. "Make sure your friends will also vote for our entry, okay?"

"Don’t worry about that, Hyung," Kim Heedo assured him. "I’m not a fan of the romance genre, but Hong Sera’s story is quite touching. Plus, your art style suits the story well. And, I don’t want to admit this, but Cho Euntak is an amazing artist, too. He was the one in charge of the background, right? The color palette in your webcomics is pretty."

"Why do you hate praising Cho Euntak?"

"I don’t like the kid."

"Why?"

"Because he’s an Alpha," Kim Heedo said casually as if it was the most natural thing to say in the world. "It’s nothing personal. But as an Alpha, I don’t like it when other Alphas are near my Omega. I especially hate it when their scent sticks on you, Hyung."

Ah.

Alphas are sensitive to the scent of other Alphas.

"I’m surprised you’re not asking me to stay away from Cho Euntak or something."

"Hyung wouldn’t like that," Kim Heedo said, shrugging. "Plus, it’s not like Cho Euntak is a threat. It’s annoying that he’s an Alpha, but it’s not like he stands a chance against me."

"Wow, the confidence."

"Am I wrong, Hyung?"

"It doesn’t hurt to be humble, you brat."

"I already pretend to be humble at school, Hyung. Let me be myself around you."

Oh, right.

Only a few know that Kim Heedo is the heir to the Ilsung Group.

"Are you done with your breakfast, Hyung?" Kim Heedo asked, checking the time on his watch. "Should we go? You want to buy pastries for your classmates, right?"

"Yes. I’ll wash the dishes before we go."

"Leave it, Hyung," Kim Heedo said. "The housekeeper will be here later."

"Oh, okay," Sohee said, standing up. "Let’s at least clean the table before we leave."

***

"HYUNG, don’t forget about our dinner plan later."

Sohee nodded, and then he turned to Kim Heedo— who was carrying two boxes of pastries effortlessly— with knitted eyebrows. "You said you reserved the entire Charcoal Tree House Restaurant for tonight, right? The one in Itaewon, near our university? And it’s the restaurant’s biggest branch with three floors?"

Right now, Sohee and Kim Heedo were walking in the hallway leading to Sohee’s lecture hall because his husband insisted on walking him to his class.

As expected, they were the center of attention.

I feel like Heedo and I have already become a "celebrity" couple here.

"Yep," Kim Heedo said, nodding. "Why, Hyung?"

"You must have spent a fortune," Sohee said worriedly. "I heard Charcoal Tree House is always fully-booked. I can’t believe they allowed you to practically rent the entire place for one night. Is it because you’re friends with Han Raehyun?"

Han Raehyun, Hong Sera’s boyfriend, was the son of the celebrity chefs who owned Charcoal Tree House— a famous Korean barbecue restaurant known for serving high-quality meat.

For their lavish interior, too.

"That and because... well, I have privileges as the grandson of the Ilsung Group’s chairman," Kim Heedo whispered. "And I’m abusing that privilege."

"I don’t have the right to complain since I’m the one benefitting from that this time," Sohee said, sighing exaggeratedly while shaking his head. And then he paused when he remembered something important. "Heedo-ya, I think the bank made a mistake. The limit of my credit card went from two hundred million won to five hundred million won."

"It’s not a mistake, Hyung. Eomma increased your monthly allowance because she felt bad about what happened to you. And she didn’t tell you in advance since she knew you’d turn it down."

"I would have politely turned it down had I known. Five hundred million is too much, Heedo-ya."

"What are you talking about, Hyung? Five hundred million isn’t much since it won’t even get you an apartment in Hannam-dong."

Hannam-dong was a wealthy neighborhood in the Yongsang District.

You need billions of won to buy an apartment there.

"Forget it," Sohee said while shaking his head. "Anyway, we’re here."

He was about to snatch the boxes from Kim Heedo, but his husband swiftly avoided him.

Kim Heedo then walked past Sohee, entering the lecture hall with quick steps.

And then...

"Hello, everyone," Kim Heedo greeted Sohee’s classmates— who were already in the lecture hall, waiting for their professor— politely and cheerfully. "I’m Kim Heedo, Park Sohee-ssi’s husband."

Aigoo.

Sohee couldn’t help but feel giddy.

Kim Heedo is getting better at acting as a proper husband.

***

"GUESS who’s trending on the school forum again."

Kim Heedo let out a sigh, and then he gave Yang Jaewon a dire stare. "Are people insulting me and Sohee Hyung again? What is it this time?"

Their last class for today had just finished.

Heedo, Yang Jaewon, and Kwon Gaon were just waiting in the empty lecture hall for Hong Sera and Han Raehyun.

Of course, Sera and Han Raehyun are invited to our dinner party.

"No, no one is bashing you this time. Well, there are negative comments, but most posts are positive," Yang Jaewon said cheerfully. "It seems like you and Sohee Hyung have become the most famous CC in our university, Heedo-ya."

"CC?"

"Campus Couple, duh."

Heedo was about to say something, but Kwon Gaon gently nudged him.

And when he lifted his head...

"Kim Heedo, are you finally flaunting your wealth?"

Tsk.

Heedo had to maintain a polite smile when he greeted his trashy sunbae-nims.

I hope these bastards don’t make a scene later.
