Chapter 415: The World Titan Awakens

In the lost continent of G’Henna, the devil Drakzen was leisurely walking on the dark ground next to the shore.

It hadn’t been over twenty-four hours since his battle with Ichiro in the northern continent, but after he brought the lost home of the devils back to the surface, he still had more work he needed to complete.

While devils like Armaros, Zagor, Baelzor, and Vyrazul had the mission of conquering other nations, Drakzen’s task had always been utterly different from that of his peers.

He was known as the "traveling devil," but his title wasn’t given to him due to his curiosity about the world but because he genuinely needed to explore the world to search for the artifacts and beast blood required to pull the lost continent back to the surface.

Now that the first step of his task was completed, he felt quite proud of himself as he kept walking along the dark coast.

The entire area of G’Henna was dead, which was expected from a land that had been underwater for a little over a thousand years.

Some of the marine life came up with the land, with parts that were covered in algae and coral. Moreover, there were also the corpses of dead fish that were unlucky to be brought to the surface.

The continent of G’Henna was the smallest in the world, but it was also completely surrounded by a wall of volcanic rock that reached hundreds of meters high.

The wall was located almost 100km away from the shore, allowing the sunlight to enter the continent without it being blocked by the massive structure.

After Drakzen took a relaxing walk along the shore to regain some of his strength, he started flying to the very center of the land.

G’Henna was formed by numerous small islands, with a large mainland in the center where the old castle used to be. Back in the old days, before the devils took over, the people who lived on the continent traveled with small boats to reach the small islands.

It took Drakzen a few hours to reach the center of the mainland, and he attributed his sluggish movements to his previous fight with Ichiro, believing that the sage had done a number on him.

When he reached the place where the old castle used to stand, the devil scanned his surroundings and felt slightly disappointed that nothing had survived from the old days.

There were no walls, no items, no relics—not even ruins of the large structures that used to stand tall in the land.

*Tch* "I can’t believe all the others died before this step of the mission was complete..." Drakzen muttered to himself with annoyance.

While the traveling devil didn’t care much about his partners dying at the hands of Ichiro and Melina, he could’ve used their powers to help him restore G’Henna to its former glory.

Still, Drakzen knew that Ichiro and his companions would need days to recover from their last encounter, so he still had time to complete his mission on his own.

A few days later, the devil managed to obtain five large crystals, which were the same type of quartz that Ichiro used to create the teleport and the voice crystal devices.

However, compared to the quartz that Ichiro used, which had a white, translucent appearance, Drakzen’s crystals were dark purple and had an ominous shadow hovering around them like a snake. frёeweɓηovel.coɱ

After placing the five crystals in a circle with at least ten meters of space between them, Drakzen pointed his palm at the center, and lines of concentrated energy began to appear from the crystals, connecting the quartz together.

When the lines were finished attaching themselves to the other crystals, the design of a pentagram appeared in the middle, glowing brightly and releasing shadows in a violent manner.

"My King... Manifest your presence in this world!" Drakzen shouted, extending his arms and making the crystals release a beam of light upwards into the sky.

During the times that the North was in conflict with the devils up to the point where Drakzen escaped and brought the lost continent to the surface, the dwarves at Durinhold were working hard inside the World Titan.

After Melina obtained the final piece of the titan’s core that was being protected by Frost, the dragon, the relic flew straight to Durinhold, where the dwarves received it and connected it to the massive machine.

Initially, the dwarves were stoked to connect the final piece. However, apart from making some of the lights inside the titan turn on, nothing of interest happened.

Some dwarves believed that the titan must’ve had a broken part that they couldn’t find, prompting them to run around the inside of the machine to look for the problem.

When the dwarves reported the situation to King Skadan, he was hesitant to tell Ichiro and Melina about the lack of response from the titan, thinking that they would be disappointed that the dwarven engineering hadn’t worked.

Thus, the king decided to keep the matter a secret while the dwarven engineers kept looking for the cause of the problem.

Weeks later, as the engineers worked incessantly inside the titan, the ground shook violently. The dwarves didn’t know it at the time, but the tremor was caused by Drakzen and his demonic rituals.

Once the earthquake ceased, a dwarf shouted that the titan had awakened. The inside of the mechanical giant lit up, giving the engineers a mixed feeling of excitement and nervousness.

Still, while the machine seemed operational, the titan didn’t move from his spot leaning against the mountain, so they deduced that it had to be manually controlled.

King Skadan rushed to the titan worksite after the earthquake, thinking that the giant was the cause of it. However, when he saw its eyes lit up, the king smiled with satisfaction and beckoned one of his servants to his side.

"Send word to Sage Ichiro and Sage Melina... The World Titan is awake," the king said, yelling at his men that they were going to celebrate that night.

Of course, the king believed that it was his engineers’ efforts that gave life to the machine. Nevertheless, it was Drakzen’s ritual on the other side of the world that made the giant awaken from its thousand-year slumber.
