My Wife and I Became Sages in Another World-Chapter 437: Memories of the First Sage
Chapter 437: Memories of the First Sage
As I kept looking through the memories that had been stored inside the stone, I was able to get a glimpse of the Lost Continent before it was submerged under the sea.
Suddenly, the serene and beautiful atmosphere shifted, and the blue sky turned dark red, with black clouds swirling around G’Henna’s castle in the distance.
I wasn’t able to move around or speak since I was just watching someone else’s perspective, and when they turned their heads to the side, I could see the World Titan fighting against another massive demon.
The World Titan looked slightly different from how it looked in our time. The mix of metals and stones that formed its body looked pearl white, and it also seemed like its movements were a bit more fluid.
The green fields and forests were ablaze, and the only thing I could hear were the sounds of a large battle happening around the castle—battle shouts, blades clashing, explosions.
"Alejandro, we are ready!" Said a random woman.
At that moment, it clicked. ’This is Alejandro’s memories!’ I thought, shocked but also curious.
When Alejandro turned around, I saw a small group of people behind him. Among them, I spotted Acalan, the phoenix from Kalusia.
I already knew that Acalan was a familiar to Alejandro the same way that Yoru and Vespera were to me, but seeing him there looking exactly the same as he did when I met him was impressive.
Still, there were two more individuals who caught my attention—a man and a woman with devil horns on their heads.
"We just need a little bit more time..." Alejandro replied, clenching his fist with frustration.
’More time for what...?’ I pondered.
"There is no time, Alejandro. The black clouds are already spreading to the rest of the world!" Said the demon girl.
"If we don’t close the portal, there will be hordes of demons everywhere..." The male devil continued, looking at the ground with apprehension.
"You’ll disappear too!" Alejandro replied with exasperation.
The group stayed silent for a moment, and as the explosions from the battle near the castle drowned their ears, they prepared themselves to jump into the action.
Suddenly, the scene shifted again, and I found myself hurriedly flying towards the Moon Spire. Of course, I was still watching from Alejandro’s perspective, and I noticed that the City of Eternal Night was already empty by the time Alejandro flew by, making me deduce that the people were evacuated.
Nonetheless, the Moon Spire had at least forty mages inside, and they were all hard at work on the mysterious gem.
"I’m sorry, Sage Alejandro... It’s not ready yet!" One of the mages exclaimed.
"Do what you must. We will finish the Gem Link, no matter what!" Another one shouted.
Alejandro turned around and gave his back to the mages, and I could sense the overwhelming sadness and anxiety that he felt at that moment.
"If you are seeing this... You MUST use the Gem Link," Alejandro muttered, but there was nobody around him.
’Is he... talking to me? Did he know that someone would look at his memory stone?’ I thought.
Once again, the scene started shifting. However, it only gave me glimpses that lasted for less than five seconds, as it kept switching to different memories.
In one of the scenes, Alejandro gave the two devils who seemed to be working with him a friendly hug, though I could sense an eerie feeling of despair when he did.
Then, I found myself standing atop a massive circular platform above the black clouds, and the obsidian floor gave me a hint that it was somewhere in G’Henna’s castle.
The sky was dark red, and the sea of black clouds surrounding it was generating streaks of lightning that illuminated the area every few seconds.
I could also see the figure of a demon standing on the other side of the platform, and when I wanted to detail him more thoroughly, the scene shifted again.
This time, I was standing a few meters away from a large portal inside an expansive room.
Compared to the other floors in G’Henna’s castle, this floor looked like the inside of a regal palace. The walls were white with golden accents, and there were different pieces of artwork hanging from them.
Moreover, there was a huge chandelier hanging from the ceiling, and it was so massive that it was enough to illuminate the entire room, which had a radius of at least 50m.
Still, while the layout of the room was impressive, I was still focused on the portal, and I noticed that there was a throne behind it, which was slightly obscured by the magical gateway.
’That portal is absorbing MP from the environment...’ I thought, and my pondering was interrupted when a demon stepped out of the portal.
The moment that Alejandro rushed forward to attack the demon, the scene shifted for the last time, and I found myself hovering way above G’Henna’s castle—in fact, I could almost see the entire Lost Continent from such a height.
Hovering next to Alejandro, I saw Acalan, the phoenix, and his two devil friends, who gave the sage a soft smile as he spoke up. "I’m sorry, my friends..." Alejandro muttered, and I could feel a tear rolling down my cheek.
I mean, it wasn’t me who was crying, but since I was looking at everything from Alejandro’s perspective, I could feel all of his emotions.
Suddenly, Alejandro pointed both of his hands downwards, generating a powerful earthquake as the entire Lost Continent began to sink into the sea.
It didn’t take long for the violent ocean to overtake the land, and as the castle slowly sank, Alejandro saw how his two devil friends disappeared from his sight.
"I get it!" I shouted, and right as I did, my entire consciousness was brought back to reality, where Melina and the rest of my group were standing around me with expectant expressions on their faces.
"What did you see...?" Melina asked, noticing that I looked a bit startled.
When I turned my gaze to the other side of the room, I focused my attention on the Gem Link, and remembering the words that Alejandro muttered in his memories, my mind pieced together his plan.
"I’ll explain as we keep moving..." I replied, approaching the gem with care.
