My Wife and I Became Sages in Another World-Chapter 448: God City
Chapter 448: God City
When our group reached the 80th floor, we found ourselves inside a very small room, at least compared to any of the previous levels.
The room had a strangely modern design, almost as if we had entered a penthouse without furniture.
In the center of the chamber, there was a glowing circle on the ground that pulsated light every few seconds.
"Hmm, I feel a very faint essence of magic on that thing..." I commented.
My group nodded and agreed with me, prompting me to approach the circle slowly. As I got closer, a message in Romanic letters appeared above it, like a hologram.
"God City...?" I muttered, turning around and glancing at my team to see if anyone had any clue where we were.
Nonetheless, not a single one of us had any idea what the God City was, and after exploring the rest of the room and seeing that there were no exits or staircases leading up, the strange circle seemed to be the only thing we could interact with.
I told my team that I would go in first, taking a deep breath and stepping inside the glowing circle, making it glow even brighter and making me feel like my body was being embraced by a warm light.
Suddenly, in the blink of an eye, I found myself in a completely different room, making me scan my surroundings as my brain went on high alert.
It was another massive city inside G’Henna’s tower, but this one looked much different than any other we saw before.
The buildings were all quite large, with a white or light blue facade that made the place feel a bit brighter.
The ground for the road had grooves that glowed and illuminated the path, and I could see a few small towers that were the size of a 10-story building scattered around.
After sending my team a voice message and explaining that I had been teleported to the 81st floor, they all stepped on the glowing circle one by one.
We had no idea why this place was called "God City," but the architecture and materials they used to build everything were of a much higher quality than any other we had seen in the world, not just G’Henna’s tower.
Our curiosity led us to explore the inside of the buildings, noticing that a lot of them were residential houses. However, there wasn’t a single piece of furniture or appliance anywhere.
"It’s as if nobody ever lived here..." Melina commented. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
I thought about her words for a moment, and they made sense. The other towns and cities inside G’Henna’s tower had signs of struggles. The cities didn’t have to be in ruins for us to see this.
"Hmm, that could be the case," Jackson replied, explaining that the tower had been built not long before the demons were summoned into the continent for the first time, so he believed that no human had reached the point where they could move into the "God City."
As we kept curiously looking around the place, we were interrupted by a brief earthquake, which made me instantly sense demonic energy nearby. Still, it wasn’t any typical or ancient demon.
Not far from our location, a massive black demon stood beside one of the tall buildings, with its horns making it look slightly taller than the structure.
His body shape reminded me of the giant demon that fought against the world titan during our arrival on the continent, and while this demon was also huge, it was much smaller than the first.
"That’s a Primal Demon..." Jackson muttered, gritting his teeth and clenching his spear.
"It’s not as big as the one we saw outside, but its power level should be around the same," he continued.
Preparing myself to rush forward, the rest of my group followed up, and we split up to advance toward the primal demon from different directions.
Arashi went first, extruding her dragon wings from her back and crashing against the demon’s face at the speed of lightning.
Frost froze one of its feet to the ground, which momentarily messed with the demon’s balance.
Vespera flew above it and crashed down on the top of its head with her spider legs, utterly stunning the demon and leaving a large, bloody wound on its head.
Nessa jumped, flew for a quick moment, and punched the demon in the stomach, making the massive monster arch its back and get on one knee as it couldn’t get its foot unfrozen.
Jackson threw his spear with all his might and stabbed the demon in the hand, and while his attack didn’t do much damage, it was enough to catch the demon’s attention.
As the demon swiped its arms to attack Jackson, a whole building beside them was destroyed, giving Melina the perfect distraction to fly above the giant demon and produce a massive lightning strike that blinded everyone for a second.
When I prepared myself to deliver the final blow, I gripped my bo and charged it with fire magic, and as I propelled myself in the air, the demon fell on his back before I could reach it.
"Huh? It’s already dead..." I muttered to myself, stopping my advance.
I was a little disappointed that I couldn’t finish it myself, but on the other hand, I was glad that the massive demon didn’t prove to be a challenge for my group.
After we were done, we explored around a little more to check for any more demons, and when we confirmed it was clear, we kept moving up the staircase to the next floor.
The 82nd floor was almost a carbon copy of the previous. We were still in God City, so all the buildings and lightning were the same.
There was only one thing that made level 82 different from 81, and that was the fact that there were two Primal Demons instead of one.
Of course, after taking down the first one so quickly, I didn’t think that fighting an extra one would be a great deal.
Nevertheless, the detail we didn’t know was that each subsequent floor would have double the amount of Primal Demons as the previous level.
