OMG!!! My Crippled Husband is a Hot, Powerful CEO-Chapter 131 – I’m back, so let her go
Chapter 131: Chapter 131 – I’m back, so let her go
Alex pushed Melanie harshly into the room as soon as he opened the door and closed it.
He was furious, and now that he had the company, he didn’t have to pretend or play nice, especially knowing how much Grandpa liked Melanie because of her father.
"If you ever try to hurt my wife again, I will kill you," he stated coldly, causing Melanie’s eyes to widen. Alex had never been so cold to her before.
"Alex, it’s me. I’m the one you love, and I’m back, so let her go," she said seriously, though afraid. Alex laughed, but his eyes carried a glint of pain.
"Let her go? What did you tell me when you heard about the accident?"
Melanie’s head lowered in embarrassment, but she soon regained herself. "Alex, there was so much pressure on me. Dad’s health hasn’t been good."
There were many others like Melanie in Alex’s life. They left before getting to know much about him, and when the time came, they wouldn’t give him a breathing space.
However, his time of being a cripple saved him from all these, and just as he showed his true self, things were returning to the way they used to be, even with the marriage title.
Alex laughed again, but it didn’t reach his eyes. Melanie thought he was the same as before, not knowing this man had been through the fire.
"Your dad? Or your husband?" he asked directly, having investigated her years ago upon his return. Shame covered Melanie’s eyes once again, but she gained the right nerves to defend herself.
"You disappeared without a trace, Alex. Not even grandpa knew where you were, so how could you blame me?"
Alex was guilty for that part but had no regrets. Disaster struck, and he had to do what he had to do for his family.
That was the reason why he respected Melanie’s decision of also moving on.
"I left for just two years, and you married a man your father’s age," Alex pointed out.
It was before the attack on his family. Things were peaceful, and though he hadn’t proposed, they were in love.
Melanie was there when the tragedy struck, and that was when Alex disappeared without a trace. He declared Dion dead and had to hide her. As he trained, he stayed by her side, but it did nothing to help her sanity.
Melanie was unaware of certain things, but the fact remained that she had gotten married, causing Alex to give up on her upon his return.
Two years later, when he came back, the King family suddenly became untouchable and the news of his arranged bride covered the airways
"Tell me, is it true that you are Salvador? Logan dropped some hints. We put the pieces together, and all signs point to you," she inquired.
Alex’s expression hardened at her question. Not only was she interfering with his wife, but she was also colluding with Logan. However, if he were to reveal the truth to anyone, it wouldn’t be Melanie.
"What matters is your infidelity. You couldn’t wait and married that older man," he remarked with a cold smile. "And how did you feel when you saw me in a wheelchair?" he pressed, causing Melanie’s face to flush with shame.
Clutching on to her older husband, she asserted that he was far superior to a young man in a wheelchair, and she had no regrets about moving on. Alex found great satisfaction in her silence.
"So, now that you’ve heard I’m no longer in a wheelchair, you decide to show your face?"
Feeling attacked, Melanie was determined to win Alex back, as he had once been hers.
"It’s over. My husband is ill and will soon pass away. If I combine his inheritance with my father’s wealth, we will be unstoppable," she whispered, trailing her fingers along his tie.
However, he pushed her away with such force that she nearly stumbled.
"Alex," tears shimmered in her eyes as he glared at her. "Don’t ever touch me again. I’m married, and that settles it."
Melanie gritted her teeth at the thought of Joanna, knowing that the innocent girl could never handle a man like Alex.
"And do you think that naive girl would stay with you if she finds out you are Salvador? A man like you deserves a woman like me, not her."
Alex smiled at the memory of Joanna. She was the perfect person for this game. "Fortunately, I am Alex, and sadly for you, I have found a young, beautiful, vibrant woman who loves me dearly. As for you, I wish you all the best with your old man."
As he turned to leave, Melanie spoke up again. "Alex, I know that you kidnapped Logan, and the proof that you are Salvador is on this tiny drive."
She revealed a small pen drive disguised as a lipstick before discreetly tucking it into her bra.
Alex realized that Logan had cleverly spread news about him being Salvador, meaning more people knew about it.
"Kiss me, Alex, and it’s all yours," Melanie’s voice turned seductive, with a hint of lust in her eyes. "I miss your touch, your kisses, your soft words. I want to feel you inside me for the first time, Alex. Don’t you miss me?"
She was close but did not touch him. Only their eyes locked, one filled with passion and the other with pain and disdain.
"I guess your old man hasn’t been satisfying you well enough, but that is your cup of tea. Drink it while it’s still hot," Alex remarked as he neared the door.
Melanie’s voice cut through the tension, "If I give the order, everything on this drive will be aired on all social media platforms."
Her threat seemed to push Alex over the edge. His expression darkened, and he swiftly turned back, his hand pressing against her throat. His glare and voice were both cold as he spoke,
"Or, I can kill you right here and now. Give me that drive."
Melanie struggled to breathe as Alex’s grip tightened, her feet dangling off the floor.
She tried to resist, hitting Alex’s hand, but something inside him seemed to snap. He lifted her effortlessly, pressing her against the wall like a piece of paper.
Outside the door, Joan could only hear deep breathing, which turned into gasps and coughs. She wondered what was happening inside.
Melanie’s eyes welled up with tears as she struggled to catch her breath. In a sudden move, Alex squatted down, grabbed her legs, and turned her upside down.
He shook her violently until the lipstick-shaped pen drive fell from her dress.
He dropped Melanie, causing her to yelp as he picked up the drive with her head down. He didn’t care about her well-being in the future.
"Don’t approach my wife again, or it won’t be her best friend you’ll have to deal with. I will be the one to send you to your grave."
His words indicated that he wasn’t bothered by Violet slapping Melanie. Alex reached the door and saw Joanna walking away. His heart sank. "Joan?"
