OMG!!! My Crippled Husband is a Hot, Powerful CEO-Chapter 132 – Alex, the Monster
Chapter 132: Chapter 132 – Alex, the Monster
Alex pursued his wife, catching up to her and lifting her from behind as Joanna struggled in vain to break free.
He only released her after ushering her into another vacant room and shutting the door behind them.
Joanna faced him with fear in her eyes. "Are you going to kill me too?" she asked, her voice trembling with apprehension.
She was not only afraid of what he might do to her but also terrified that he could be Salvador.
Despite her reluctance to accept it, the pieces of the puzzle seemed to fit together from all that she heard.
Joanna couldn’t recall her past conflict with Salvador, but the mere mention of his name sent shivers down her spine. The overheard conversation only added to her unease.
Alex never denied it whenever the question propped up but only kept diverting attention.
"What are you talking about?" He responded dismissively, prompting Joanna to speak candidly. "I overheard everything. Are you Salvador?" she inquired, her gaze fixed on him with a mixture of seriousness and fear.
Alex’s expression darkened as he took a step closer, causing Joanna to instinctively retreat.
"You’re scaring me. Can you please stop?" she pleaded, holding out her hands in a feeble attempt to keep him at bay. Unbeknownst to her, her words struck a chord with him, and he replied in a soft tone.
"Angel, I’m your husband. How can you be afraid of me and not trust me?" he questioned, his hurt evident in his eyes.
Guilt washed over Joanna, but she couldn’t ignore the fact that Alex never explicitly denied being Salvador, leaving her deeply unsettled.
Instead, he deflected the question with a different response each time it was brought to light.
"I just want the truth," she whispered pleadingly. Alex briefly doubted his assumption that she wouldn’t accept him if she knew the truth or stand by him as they were supposed to in their contract marriage.
To test her, he asked seriously, "Assuming I am Salvador, then what happens?"
Joanna was taken aback by his proximity, but his scent and gentle demeanor calmed her fears.
The weight of the question left her speechless, and before she could respond, he scooped her up and carried her to the bed.
Panicking, Joanna asked, "Isn’t a party going on?" She preferred Alex in the wheelchair rather than on his feet because the wheelchair limited him in ways his feet wouldn’t.
Alex, still recovering from months of self-confinement in a wheelchair, found standing for long periods taxing on his legs. He vowed never to play a wheelchair prank again.
"Just relaxing my back, but I’m waiting for your answer," he said, reclining on the bed. Joanna followed suit, finding the position more comfortable. She finally mustered the courage to ask,
"Are you Salvador?"
Alex turned to face Joanna, her face glowing under the chandelier. Without permission, he pressed his lips against her head, unsure why he had kissed her when they were not in public.
She turned to her side and pushed him away. "This isn’t part of the agreement," she reminded him, the truth cutting deep.
"Agreement?" Before he could finish his sentence, the door swung open, and Logan stormed in, his expression furious.
No one had been able to stop him from entering the venue, and his secret allies had pointed out Alex’s location.
Alex stood up from the bed, his expression darkening, as Joana sat up.
"What are you doing here?" Alex demanded, noticing Logan’s upset demeanor. Logan had been searching for Alex as soon as he arrived, unable to speak freely without Alex present for fear of another attack by Salvador’s men.
"Are you wondering how I escaped from the kidnappers? Salvador’s men are not as loyal as they claim," Logan taunted, certain that he was talking to Salvador.
Alex, already aware of the situation, braced himself for what was to come.
"What does that have to do with me and why ruin our sweet moment?" Alex asked innocently. Logan turned to Joanna, feeling a pang inside him as he saw her on the bed.
The sight of Alex and Joanna together suggested they couldn’t get enough of each other, even stealing moments during the party to be together. Logan believed this revelation might prompt Joanna to leave Alex for good.
"Joan, you need to leave him. Alex is a monster with blood on his hands. He’s Salvador, and I can prove it to you," Logan urged.
Alex then tapped a few buttons on his phone, and they heard a beeping sound. Fear gripped Logan as he realized Alex had locked the door with the code he entered.
How careless of him to confront Alex alone? He should have brought Grandpa along but his anger prevented him from thinking clearly.
Alex closed in on him, saying, "I see you haven’t learned your lesson from last time."
Logan anticipated an attack and made a dash for the door, forgetting it had been locked until he was trapped in front of it.
Despite the setback, he persisted, pounding on the door and shouting, "Help! Grandpa, Alex is going to hurt me."
Alex responded coldly, "You know that’s true." Joanna, alarmed, rose from the bed and inquired, "Alex, what’s happening?"
Her voice seemed to momentarily soften Alex, his demeanor shifting as he looked at her. "Will you wait for me outside?"
Joanna declined, much to Logan’s dismay. He wished she had accepted, as she could have sought help against his monstrous brother.
Each time he faced Alex, Logan seemed to forget the past mistreatment. However, Joanna saw this as an opportunity to uncover Alex’s secrets, which had become overwhelming for her. "No."
Logan implored Joanna, "Joan, please go get help."
Enraged, Alex kicked him in the face, causing him to spit blood and collapse with a groan.
Tears welled up in Joanna’s eyes as she questioned Alex, "What are you doing?"
Alex realized she would never accept him for who he was, torn between keeping her out and letting her in. "I’m sorry, my Angel." His thumb wiped a tear in the corner of her eyes as he stared at her with pain in his eyes.
Confused, Joanna asked, "Sorry for what?" Before she could comprehend, darkness enveloped her.
