Chapter 139: Chapter 139 – Will you kiss me if I eat it?

"Won’t you kiss me? Why are you being modest now?" Violet tried to forcefully kiss Aiden as he carried her to one of the guest rooms and called one of the maids to bring him bread, hot sauce, and water.

After gently placing her on the bed, she clung to his necktie, so he gently removed his blazer before taking her hand.

"Do this when you are in your right mind, and you will regret it," he threatened. Violet pouted, unfazed by his words.

"Who said I’m not in my right mind? I’m just feeling sleepy and hungry down there," she pointed at her pussy. Aiden chuckled.

This side of her was amusing, and as much as he wanted to be mad at her, he was moved with pity because of her situation.

After freeing himself and pulling away, he saw her rising from the bed and beginning to undress in front of him. It reminded him so much of their one-night stand together, but this time, it wasn’t just alcohol but something detrimental.

Being under the influence of drugs, he carried her to the bathroom and placed her in the bathtub filled with cold water.

Violet gasped, but the heat slowly dissipated. Aiden left her there when he heard a knock on the door, knowing it was the maid, and went to take the items from her.

Heading back to the room, he heard a phone ringing, but it wasn’t his. Tracing the sound, it was Violet’s phone, and the name of the caller annoyed him.

For a moment, he thought about answering it to ruin their relationship when he saw the name ’Ben,’ but then again, Alex would be upset when he finds out.

He waited a while, and after checking on Violet again, he was glad to see her in a towel. She had finished drying herself but was not completely sober.

The moment their eyes met, she hastened, tiptoed, and kissed Aiden on the lips.

Gently, he pulled away and offered her a piece of bread with hot sauce. "I’m not hungry," she refused. Aiden sighed, not wanting to force her but needing her to sober up completely before anything else.

"But you must eat it," he insisted. Violet refused until he brought it to her lips. "Please. It will help you feel better."

The softness of his voice touched her strangely, and her attraction for him grew.

"Will you kiss me if I eat it?" Violet asked, her fingers caressing his chest. Aiden held her hand. "Yes. If you eat it and still want me to kiss you, then I will."

Violet smiled and held his hand holding the bread and hot sauce, using it to feed herself. The moment she bit into the bread, she felt the heat of the sauce assaulting her taste buds.

"It’s too hot," she lamented, breathing through her mouth and reaching for the water.

"I said hot sauce," Aiden mused as Violet hungrily gulped down the water. Her arousal was slowly fading away, and her head was clearing.

"You can lie down if you want," Aiden encouraged her. She obeyed but wondered.

"What are we doing in the same room?"

Aiden smiled, glad she was regaining her senses. He sat beside her and began to gently massage her feet.

"It’s a long story, but I promise to tell you the details after you wake up."

The feel of his hands on her feet felt so good that Violet was drifting to sleep. "It feels good. Thank you," she said, still in her towel.

Aiden thought about getting Joanna to get her some clothes later, but as he sat beside her, watching her sleep like a baby, the door pushed open, interrupting the moment as Alex and Joanna stood frozen at the entrance.

At the sight of the couple, Aiden withdrew his hand as if it wasn’t there before.

"I shouldn’t have been so worried if I knew you were a gentleman," Alex teased. Aiden was a little embarrassed.

"I don’t know what you are talking about."

Not ready to let him have his way, Alex pointed out. "You were massaging her feet, and there is nothing wrong with that."

Joanna sat on the other side of the bed close to Violet’s head and caressed her hair. "Thanks for taking good care of her. That maid deserves to pay for what she did." freewёbnoνel.com

At the mention of the maid, Alex dialed Grandpa’s number, wondering if the old man was still at the hospital and got an immediate response.

"Don’t worry, Alex, I ensured everything was done."

Alex was stunned for a moment at the news before asking. "Grandpa, what are you talking about?"

The old man chuckled from the end of the line and spoke directly. "Didn’t you want a part of your brother’s memory wiped for him to stop causing trouble? I made sure of it."

A sigh of relief escaped Alex, "It’s just temporal anyway but good for now." He hadn’t forgotten his reason for calling. "Grandpa, Agnes crossed the line, and I won’t let anyone stop me from getting even."

The old man smiled from the end of the line. He had suspected it when Agnes suddenly became a busybody at the mansion, asking the maids so many questions.

If she had sadly stepped on the lion’s tail, there was nothing Grandpa could do about it.

"I already gave you power the moment I handed it over. As such, I would no longer get involved in your administration, so take this as an exam. I’m not around anymore, but I will mark you based on your achievements after ten years, and then we shall know whether or not you deserve the position of the chairman."

Alex knew this but did not perceive it involved the family as a unit. "I know this, Grandpa, but you have always been the head of the family."

Grandpa chuckled at the end of the line. "The earlier you begin to see yourself as the head of the family, the better it would be for you. As such, you have the authority to deal with any family member as you would, so how would that be?"

The question rendered Alex speechless and also made him feel like an old man. His earlier thought of dealing so brutally with Agnes was suddenly questioned as he began to think like a father would.

"In that case, I’m going to cut off her allowances until she begins to exhibit good behavior," Alex said. Grandpa smiled at the end of the line in satisfaction.

The goal was to make better family members and not to erase them. Alex was learning faster than he imagined.

"I think I made the right decision in appointing you as the head of the family," he said honestly. Alex was a little confused and asked directly.

"Grandpa, you gave us tasks to accomplish, so anyone else would have assumed this role, right?"

Grandpa laughed for the first time at the end of the line before responding. "Oh, Alex, how could you not have seen what was so clear in the eyes of every family member?"

It was clear that Grandpa had from the onset decided to make him the CEO, but then, he recalled the arrangement for his marriage and asked again.

"If that be the case, then why did you insist that I get married before?"

Grandpa was slightly disappointed that Alex could not discern all this while that his destiny was set in leadership.

"It was your father’s wish for you to marry Adelaide, so I just capitalized on it. As for the extended family, I couldn’t let them know that I had a favorite, so I had to make things a little difficult for you," he confessed.

Alex was about to ask more questions, but as if Grandpa read his mind, he gave the exact response to the question he was about to ask without him even asking it.

"I also loved the marriage part because before then, you were more ruthless in your decisions. There comes a time in life when you have to blend ruthlessness with purpose, depending on the level of the crime," Grandpa explained, but his next words rendered Alex speechless.

"I know that you and Adelaide are in a contract marriage, so why do you think I still gave you the position?"

"You knew?" Alex was confused. "How?" Did it mean they didn’t play their roles well, or was Grandpa just too smart to be fooled?

"Alex, I hope that your reason for not wanting to settle down with Adelaide is worthwhile because if you lose her for good, I won’t be there to give you a shoulder. I’m not sure to even live up to the ten years I mentioned because of my health, and the chairman position would automatically be yours."

These revelations were too much for Alex, and the fact that Grandpa had not called him over and was doing it so casually on the phone put him on the edge.

"Grandpa, there are a few things I can’t tell you now, but please trust me. There are amazing surprises on the way."

"I trust you," Grandpa said and immediately ended the call. Alex was left dumbfounded by everything, and Aiden, noticing how his pal’s countenance suddenly changed, asked, "what did the old man say? You look like you’ve been reset."

Alex lifted his head, and his gaze darkened. "I need to call Edmund first."
