Perfect Avatar-Chapter 224: The Sin Of The Flesh
Chapter 224: The Sin Of The Flesh
In the void where they were left alone, the main Dora released his last tear. Eyes fixed on his right hand, he whispered.
"I have to...kill everyone?"
His eyes flashed yellow and he inhaled quickly. The warmth in his chest became permanent, like a second heart enveloping his heart.
Beside him, having heard his words perfectly, Candace’s mouth trembled a little.
Dora displayed a multitude of unfamiliar expressions on his face. His smile quivered, his palms perspired, and suddenly, he experienced a great wave of happiness, yet he remained unaware of its source.
All of his emotions culminated in one knowledge shared by all of his Personas: they had to kill everyone, not just the Sin Avatars, but absolutely every living thing.
He slowly turned to Candace, giving her the most worrying look possible.
Without a word, he transmitted a sinister message to her: I must kill you.
Candace’s head shook in a slow motion, signifying her acceptance of the inevitable. Dora leaned closer, his hand inching towards her throat.
Trapped and powerless, Candace made no attempt to resist, not even considering the idea. She shut her eyes, anticipating the fatal touch that would seal her fate.
One second, three seconds, five... but nothing happened. She opened her eyes slightly and right in front of her, another surprising scene was unfolding.
On his knees, Dora gripped his right hand tightly. His teeth were grinding, his eyes hidden behind his long hair.
"... Damn it."
His body gradually turned white and disintegrated into luminous particles.
Candace’s gaze followed the particles floating and disappearing above her.
She was at a loss for words, especially since Dora’s inability to kill her was a harsh reminiscence of his past behavior.
Whether it was Dora or the Sin and now this one, none of them managed to harm her after their memories were erased.
That was the reality here, but that reality only applied to Candace. In other parts of Kalaharis, the out-of-nowhere burst of joy had the effect of a huge injection of euphoria into all the Personas.
Gamma and Omega released a tremendous wave of aura, like a howl of joy and after sharing a sinister smile, they turned their glowing eyes towards the earth where the beast kept fleeing.
Meanwhile, the fusion Dora clenched his fists, an incredulous laugh hanging from his lips.
"Hello? Are ya okay? Say something!" Mercy shook him by the shoulders.
"Okay?" The boy’s dazzling eyes turned towards her. "I’ve never felt...better."
The air was becoming hazy around him, a sign that his energy was having trouble escaping. Mercy stepped back, worried.
"How... is this possible?... After all... After... Mercy..."
The girl jumped in horror, now she was sure that something terrible was going to happen.
"There is hope! There is a fucking way out! We...can...create a paradise! We can do it!"
The ground cracked beneath him, the crack spreading through the walls around them.
Mercy took an offensive stance, one more step and she would materialize her scythe, but the boy in front showed no hostility, only madness.
He looked at his hands again, whispering inaudibly, almost crying again.
"...everyone...we can put everyone...in the same photo...like that day...mom...Wendy...father...Midgard... Elizabeth..."
He let his arms fall as his eyes searched for the stars.
"In a... world without... what does that mean? How is it poss... No! No I don’t need an answer, I don’t need an explanation... it’s possible! We will do it!...I just need the power to..."
He lowered his head, his smile disappeared and his eyes widened.
"...to destroy the world."
A new gust of wind touched them, Mercy was disturbed by the abnormal behavior of Dora who, from her point of view, was ready to make her regret her choice of punishment.
However, Dora’s aura regressed and his face softened.
"...Oh, yeah... You were in the picture too, and Zuri... Iris... Freya... Lisa and that creepy guy too? Hm, well, they’re already here so why not? Oh, I also want Marie and Lilith.... maybe Liliana?... the list is so long..."
"...What are you saying?"
He turned to her and Mercy’s heart skipped a beat.
Dora’s eyes radiated an incredible peace and joy, beyond anything he had ever shown.
No anger, no terror, nothing bad, just one intangible warmth filled with a perfect blend of passion and care.
"I say that...I really miss our time together...so I’m happy now."
Mercy lowered her guard, her eyes trembling. Her mind was clear, her body had evolved, but she was losing control of the situation again.
"You’re right...this time we were dating...I don’t remember why I tricked myself to want it so much...but it wasn’t something I hated. I’m glad it happened... because now I can add it in my future projects."
- Once we add you to this world.
Dora placed a hand on his forehead, lifting his hair slightly. There were many words to describe that face, mostly a simile that of the cutest lady, but in Mercy’s eyes, in that moment, a new word screamed loudly in her chest.
"...Wow."
"Hm? Did you say something?"
"Oh?!" She stepped back again and met the wall in her path.
"Uh... Damn decor... Yer talkin’ too much! It’s already very late so let’s... get down to business now! No running away! No excuses!"
She pointed her finger at him, her chest beating and spreading her aura uncontrollably.
"Why are you panicking? I’m not going to run away. Not anymore, you’re already part of my future."
A rush of excitement and adrenaline melted into a toxic haze enveloping them and spreading across the city.
Their eyes met, their senses beginning to go crazy under Wrath’s formidable pressure. Dora’s eyes sharpened.
"... If you don’t use your own pressure now, you’ll lose your mind, like Lilith."
In the middle of the Colosseum, at the exact spot where Mercy’s awakening occurred, Wrath’s eyes glowed brightly, the mist spreading with a force ten times greater than normal.
"...Maybe I don’t mind losing it now? It feels better than last time."
- Wrath is the sin of the body’s emotions.
Mercy’s eyes shone brighter, she stepped forward and reached Dora, both looking into each other’s eyes.
- Destroy the world to create a real paradise.
-Reject morality and embrace your true passion.
The temperature gradually rose in the city, strange feelings coursing through every citizen.
Iris and Morgiana struggled in their slumber, while Lilith, positioned by the window, blushed intensely, her exhilaration reaching its peak and rendering her unable to move.
- Yield to the call of the flesh.
Mercy grabbed Dora by the collar, her breath becoming heavier and releasing red steam.
"...Teleport...Now."
Dora raised an eyebrow and got ready to snap her fingers with a single smile.
"Well, at least you have the decency to choose a better place. Show me something good."
- Give us more reasons to bring you into our world.
The snap plunged the alley into a brief luminescence before giving way to a deep silence.
In a room of the building, closer to the Colosseum and drowned under the pressure of Wrath, Mercy and Dora appeared, but it would be the last seconds to keep their minds clear.
Toxicity filled their lungs and madness took over. They could have stopped it at any time, but they chose not to, perhaps it was already a consequence of their exposure to Wrath’s pressure.
Still holding tightly to his collar, Mercy pushed him onto the bed, climbing on top of him.
Her aura was slowly turning the room into a furnace, her eyes and hair incandescent.
"...No more...escape...I’m going to push this body... to its limits."
"You’ll break trying."
The next moment, the glass literally exploded after another burst of heat.
No tears were shed, no clothes were ripped apart; such actions were unnecessary as they disintegrated into dust.
