Chapter 250: Mechanical fortress [2]

Ex-Machina it’s a writing technique where everything goes right by just a simple solution or downright dog shit. In my novel, the ’Ex-Machina’ is a tool of destructive power that many people wished to find. Deus the god of machinery and the Diabolous demon of machinery. One was the ultimate armor that can solve every problem and the other was the power to antagonize

[System: You’ve uncovered a very crucial piece of information! Diabolous Ex-Machina or the Demon King is created by a person along with his counterpart. Though most of the articles are aligned you’re required to unveil the mystery of this thousand-year war]

’All of this because I have Diabolous...? But wait. I kind of realized why it felt so surreal. I knew it wouldn’t be easy to gain a sacred treasure. But it turns out I have a secret mission I need to do, and this randomly generated plot answers my question. Diabolous and Deus Ex-Machina never debuted, and only I was the only person that knows of their existence... the true ending. It must be brutally difficult–’

[Hey can you stop talking to yourself? I’ve been wondering if that Golem of yours originated here then why is it on the second trial? I could’ve sworn this trial was said to be aligned from the past to the most recent destruction after the 2030th renewal]

"Many people and gods would’ve thought that as well, but it’s far from the truth... the things you heard are just baseless assumptions. Each trial is categorized by its destructive events, the more fucked up it is the higher they rank. So the lowest destructive events are offered first so the players can easily adapt to tougher challenges,"

[That explains a lot... we shifted from a pandemic to a sealed evil from the labyrinth to a waging war of the world. Now that you mentioned it, I kind of realize how much of a difference the trials are. So this time we’re back before the labyrinth scenario, that ruinous cave we saw has some similarities with this place. Enough about that, we can’t waste any more time, we’ve used about two whole days to get here. The duration takes about five whole days before we get ejected!]

"You don’t have to tell me twice, why do you think im walking while chatting with ya? Just like you im panicking just the thought of failing, but now we have a path. I asked the Magicrafters about their shortcut to the Diabolous’s creator, that glitchy voice, it must be Makino–" Suddenly the walls of the fortress exploded, and even though he remained unscathed his ears irritatingly rang

"Who the fuck did that!!?" His eyes glowed red and the anger he leashed influenced his body his arms quickly retract and came forth a blade belonging to Diabolous

[System: The effects of the title ’Strong will’ negates your ever-growing rage]

His blade retracted and his hand came back after he fully contained his rageful demeanor. "I knew it looks so good to be true. But I never thought it’ll appear so soon, are they Demons– way wha– A-angels!!?"

He assumed the worst to be the arrival of devils and their army hell-bent on ending his life as to the orders of the tree. But what he saw was nothing that he could’ve anticipated, angels appeared before him, monstrous beings full of fright. Many depict angels as men and women with a pair of the whitest wings but that’s far from a thousand eyes clamped to a pair of wings

"Bluargh!! Ew, what the fuck did I do? They’re so fucking ugly, well that answers the reason why they say ’Do not be afraid’. These fuckers are horrendous to look at, I changed my mind, becoming a demon is awesome, the last thing I want to be is an angel," He attempted to vomit but his current form failed to do so as it mostly made of metal

[What are those pigeon-winged hooligans doing here?]

"If the demons have Diabolous... then what about Deus?"

He quickly ran headfirst to confront these intruders of eldritch-like depiction by spreading his wings. One of the angels was caught off guard and he ram it through the wall with superior strength brutally flattening its entirety. Its blood dripped through the very walls and most of its eyes were popped, he tilted his head and dodges an attack from his neck

"A demon...? But your presence is different, are you one of his creations? Where is your master? Where is the magicraft prodigy of Golem creation, where is Makino!!?" Unlike the other angels the one that appeared has a humanoid appearance and a rageful tone and the one who threw the spear

[System: You’ve met one of the Seven heavenly virtues! The one that stands before you is Gabriel of Diligence

Outcome: The archangel shows great hostility to the player!!!

Seven heavenly virtues: The Seven heavenly virtues are the archangels granted with the form of man and the most devout followers of gods. They’re known to be brutally murderous once they met against their opposition, the princes of hell known as the seven deadly sins. For each sin there is a virtue opposing such ideals are present]

’The virtue of diligence... steadfast earnest and energetic when it comes to work. The opposite of sloth. If ’sloth’ gains power over debuffing, the virtue grows faster the more they remain moving. The longer it fights against demons the faster it gets, but it’ll slowly regress upon the slightest second. He truly is the opposition of sloth–’

[Did it become faster?]

He dodges again but this time his arm was grazed by Gabriel’s spear. It was a graze but the sensation was brutal, as the opposition their damage deals twice. Morris felt the stinging pain unlike most of the injuries he amassed in his time in this world

"What a pathetic piece of scrap– Arghh! You dare sully my body!!? Spear of judgment!!" A radiating light manifested from Gabriel’s palm, shifting from a light to a form of a spear and it flew with such velocity

"Darkness manipulation, Darkness cocoon!" He manages to put up a shield before it could ever strike his life, Gabriel then appeared to his back and swung his fist

"You’re too slow, foul fiend!" His spear and first collided but his target was nowhere to be spotted till a shadow from his back take the form of his enemy

"Buddy, are you sure you’re an angel? I thought angels wouldn’t do anything as horrible as attacking by surprise. Guess you fuckers are just a bunch of hypocrites!!"

As he swung his arm it then shifts when a metallic coating appeared and reinforced his fist into a weapon befitting of war. He thought that in such a range he could easily land a blow but he was met with a kick which sends him flying to the walk. His whole body ached from the blow and just when he decided to even the playing field he met with an uncertainty

[System: You’re unable to call for the power of the [Seven deadly sins] the princes of hell their original wielders are alive. Henceforth the skill has been written to be useless the linger you dwell in the past. We suggest you chose another skill, your life is on the brink of death]

"Shit– Oooof!" Gabriel mercilessly bombarded him with attacks before he could react and as time passes his power grew even stronger

"This your end!!!" Gabriel’s next attack would’ve ended his life but when everything was coming to an end he miraculously triggered his luck

[System: You’ve managed to evade!]

In such a short amount of time, he spared no time and invoke the activation of of one his wide-range skills. "Antagonizing skill, ’Black Cat’ sub ability; Field of misfortune!"

A surge of mysterious energy radiated from his body and anything within his scope was influenced by its effect. Gabriel’s finishing blow never once hit their mark as he recovered from his injuries neither the angels before him couldn’t fathom the situation. Anything that could’ve gone wrong occurred and as they intend in ending his life whether physical or magical means they never struck

[System: A minute has passed and you’ve yet to come in contact with a demon! The effect of ’Diligence’ is regressing! The virtue you hold is growing weaker]

"What’s wrong why aren’t you hitting me?" Gabriel’s regression in speed gave him the upper hand and he easily struck the angeloids mug with a raging sucker-punch

"This can’t be... why, why, why, why, why, why!!! This doesn’t make any sense! Why can’t I hit you!!?" He didn’t leave his spot and there he witness Gabriel swinging his fist without a single one reaching his flesh

"Nanomachines son! There isn’t much, it’s just a simple trick. Black Cats sub ability; Field of misfortune doesn’t lower your positive probability. In truth inside this field, anyone hostile to me will have their luck drained and transferred to me,"
