Re:write The Authors Transmigration-Chapter 253: Ex Makino [2]
Chapter 253: Ex Makino [2]
As Christopher Morris found the end of his journey through the memories stored within the tree he met an eccentric man. No, to be clear his portrayal was that of a lifeless silhouette of his former self, nothing but a memory intact to his machines. Excelion De Makino, a being purely crafted from unknown origins appeared and asked him to stay and hear his tales of the beginning
’Holy crap! This is a motherload of lore drop if I ever see one, we’re back at the very beginning... the revolution, Alpha test, and some might call it Zero Zero or what they call the Origin. Armageddon... no matter how long it passes it’s still puzzling, I can’t believe it, but as much as im acting like a ten-year-old I need to find Makino. He was here a while ago– There you are!’
"Bastard!" As Morris ran closer to catch a glimpse of Makino he saw a fair maiden granting him the slap of his life
"So this is your answer? Excelion, not even once... did you truly give up? You chose that path instead of me, I truly am a fool! They’re right, I should’ve trusted them, I shouldn’t have wasted my life," The maiden urgently left as swiftly as her palm came brushing forth in Makinoxs face her departure came to be
[Holy!]
’Oof that didn’t end well for our friend over there, wow I can’t believe he got dumped the moment he left. But this isn’t nearly enough to make him look so miserable, can you remember what he looked like? This Makino looks a little bit decent, it seems this isn’t the thing that ticked him off, let’s just watch him for now,’
"Sir Excelion are you okay?" Morris suddenly heard a familiar voice he once heard and he veered to see the man who aimed a gun through his noggin
[Isn’t he that guy we met before?]
Makino yanks his collar and pulls his body from the ground as his anger engulfed every bit of his skin. "Lucius, what part of keeping her away don’t you understand? You had one job and you blew it, boy! Sigh... forget it,"
He loosens his grip and this boy Lucius the same person who’ll grow to be the man that’ll hold Morris at gunpoint stands. "Help me pull this thing will ya? Don’t even speak, I don’t have the energy. Not after what happened, now move your arms, we don’t have time to cry about my life,"
[Should we follow them?]
"What do you think?" He ran and tailed the two right after the blank space of white changed to form the pieces of Makino’s memory
’This place, it feels different from the world tree, it kind of reminds me more and more of a world of shattered memories. The instability of these memories is the same, I need to be careful, one wrong move and it’s all over for me, I hope Jin and the rest are okay. For now, I need to focus solely on learning the past that Makino wants me to remember– Whoa! What the hell?’
He halted when a gust of wind seemingly sent dust into his eye and he fell to the ground after the shock. This work or maybe Makino’s memory isn’t comparable to anything that he ever felt for most of this world sensation can be felt. The wind, the warmth of the sun, and the noise coming from the wave of people where he too came to be pushed by masses
[What are you doing? They’re getting away. Come on you need to focus or else you’re gonna die. I just came back after checking your disciple’s eyes, they’re fighting literal giants! Get a move on you lazy bastard!]
’You don’t have to tell me twice!’
...
Meanwhile in the real world
"Ifrit flames," Jin mows down a single line of the Nephilim but in their onslaught, these towering monsters retaliate
"Watch out!"
Blake tossed a vial of his personally crafted concoction where it lay waste on anything that it touches. The flesh of those giants burned and extended exposure causes their flesh to melt leaving nothing more than a pile of bones. The corpses of these giants were then brought back to the living as an individual with unyielding servitude
"Heed my command, kill your allies!" Quons army of the undead grew in size and they slowly held their ground
On the other side, a flock of bats came hurdling forth, and one seemingly transforms into a humanoid form. "You got a lot of nerves going after someone I took a liking to. Esther do it now! This place will be the death of your army!"
Esther emerges from the bats and her hands shine blindly as her heavenly aura came in contact with these giants. Their life force being drained meant their weakening and with that Airis’s bats manages to infest and devour their blood. In doing so she grew in power for her subjects provided her with blood and she unleashed a violent tear
"Man, those girls sure are absurd. No wonder they’d fall for that lunatic... now what to do? Jin said I shouldn’t fight like that’s going to stop me, but he’s right. There’s no one else better at guarding him than me, even if my character isn’t a demon an occultist is never helpless," Yuri offered hundreds of thousands of bodies to perform a ritual to summon the aid of a long-forgotten demon in his slumber
"I beseech you, the great primordial demon of the forgotten era! Grant us your power to turn this ruinous castle into an Almighty bastion to guard the Demon King. By the power vested in me with the great demon sleeping in front of me I say, you better fucking listen to my request ya hear!!?" In her fit of rage, these demons responded rather quickly and the castle walls were now strengthened and reinforced
...
[Luckily we managed to find him again. Morris, can I ask you something? You’ve been out of it once we exit the conference, you can tell me anything you know. It’s not like seeking my guidance is forbidden, but if it gets out of my control then that’s that]
’Nothing made any sense, this place kinda gives me a large dosage of deja vu. I don’t know why exactly, but it feels like this isn’t the second but the third time. Crazy isn’t it? If im not insane then where was our first meeting with this city?’
"Sir Excelion please dial down on the alcohol, I can’t carry you to your bed. If you do you’ll be sleeping on the workshop’s cold and dusty floors. Do you want that?"
"Who gives a fuck Lucius? My fiancee left me, my colleagues turned a blind eye, and everyone, except you abandoned me. They think I’ve gone insane, hehehe, im over it, I already knew my fate doesn’t grant me a happy ending," Makino wiggles his goblet filled to the brim with wine as he broods over the horrible truth instilled in his existence
"Sir... may I ask why?" Lucius leaned forward taking his goblet and gently placing it down on the table
"What do you want?" He raised his head long so buried in his arms that his eyes grew moist in the tears he shed
"Sir Excelion De Makino, why did you choose a path that no one else even in a million would even dare choose? Is it money, fame, or perhaps the blessing of the gods if they favor you at the end of your life? Why did you agree with that entity’s proposal, to create a machine, or specifically a golem that can hold the might of the gods?"
Makino laughs and said. "How awful, even my intern thinks the great golem master will fall so low? Do you think I’m greedy, Lucius? Answer me truthfully I hate the sweetest lies more so than the bittersweet truth, so let it all out, I won’t be mad..."
"It’s a common fact that humans are prone to worldly desires, that includes you as well sir Excelion. Many believe your theories are a misconception and you’ve gone insane in the process of widening your knowledge. But you know me, im not a fool to believe words before I see the real face of something that’s been victimized by mockery and envy," He truthfully replied Makino stands from his seat, and up he goes walking on the chair like any drunkard
"Theories they say? It’s just something that never has yet to happen... without gods, our world will be plunged into eternal chaos. They maintain everything from the elements going so far to our natural ecosystem. Global warming, forest fire, drought, and the rise of water levels. These aren’t theories but our future reality, without the gods, we mortals will be the death of this world!"
’Holy shit! He unknowingly said the current crisis of earth in mere seconds? Compared to the world of trials. That place had no gods and without their powers, it grew chaotic, over time the end of the world is increased by humans. Who would’ve thought we’d be the highest contributing fuckers, I expected no less of the race that created the atomic bomb,’
"You see Lucius? What I strive for isn’t the present but the future, a world without gods is a world full of disorder. That’s why I made Deus the god of machinery and her counterpart, Diabolus the demon of machinery. We, mortals, have only one ending and that’s our idea, we die but we live forever, I want to give the future a god crafted from machines,"
