Re:write The Authors Transmigration-Chapter 268: Relapse [2]
Chapter 268: Relapse [2]
Character sheet No. 4 Shin Chaerim, a supporting character that’ll die so the story and the Main character can evolve. Born in a world similar to the author the difference was that magic exists. Brought to life in North Korea ruled by a dictator her whole life was built upon countless deaths
[This is how you summarize every person in your visions? I can say granting her the title of vassal due to being familiar with magic... but tell me is that enough?]
Christoper grinned and with confidence he outright said. "Why of course... the moment mortals and in this case, humans act on instinct. The moment they feel threatened the mask they bear will cease to exist,"
...
Present
"Elemental bullets, Wind!!!" She fired a round which flew with such speed and pierced through Gale’s defenses freeweɓnovēl.coɱ
"Fuck that stings–" She closes in and punches Gale in the abdomen rendering his body to follow instinct and drop to the ground
"Gale! Why you– Arghhh!!!" Shin quickly changes the bullet attributes to electric and in that proximity both Charlotte and Gale are shocked
"Orb of greed, Absorb!!!" She quickly activates the Orb and with the two’s stats being devoured she exits the frenzy
[System:You’ve disconnected from the personality ’Black cherry’
Status: Your personality and way of thinking has been reverted
Outcome: You feel shaken after feeling the dread within the chosen personality]
[A person built from countless deaths? Looks like you’re hiding quite a talent, my dear vassal. No wonder he calls you a fool]
"By talent, you mean becoming a monster? Losing my emotions and succumbing to the desire to kill? I won’t ever call that tale–"
[Fool, idiot, and I might as well add tomfoolery! Do you think that avoiding your capabilities is the way? Instead of running, you must face it with everything you have. Even I won’t accept your excuses do you think this place will be forgiving on those who reject their talents?]
"What do you want me to say? I lived that kind of life as I lived and breathed before I was sent here. Do you think I never think of facing it, it’s not trauma but a command, those devils brainwashed my body," A wavering intent of bloodlust exudes from her soul a black and suffocating pressure that’s a sign of a curse
"The moment I try and wield the things of my fullest capability I’ll become a monster. That’s why I only stuck around using Knives. That curse won’t die..." She dropped to the ground near her comrades and sobbed after she felt the uncontrollable desire to kill
’No, no, no, no, no... please don’t! Not right now. I can’t kill them. I need to fight it. I don’t want to kill them please–’
[System: The deity known as ’The Forgotten Sage’ used its authority to dispell a low-level curse on his chosen target]
[You call that a curse? It just influences your mind to kill. What’s so special about that? Is that it? I solve your problem, right?]
Shin’s long-time problem was quickly resolved with just a wave of Sage’s finger and she quickly stopped sobbing altogether. Instead of grief, she was embarrassed after he failed her eyes from such a little thing in the eyes of the divine. After hiding her unconscious comrades she runs away with her face redden in sheer embarrassment at the matter
[Do you want to talk about it–]
"Let’s just move on with the mission!!!" It seems she is rather embarrassed and so they continue without ever mentioning what transpired in that particular moment
...
1 hour later
[At last, we’re here!]
"Why did we come here? I don’t see any exit. Looks like a dead end. Is there some secret passage I can’t see or what?" Shin asks after they went through life and death just to reach this point
[Nothing it’s just a dead end as you say but that’s not all. This is the only place without any heavenly aura to be found at this point on the map. It may look like a dead end but this was an exit route that’s been buried either by natural causes or was orchestrated]
"Why would they do such a– now that you’ve said that I was a little curious as to why this area was off-limits,"
[You learn fast my dear vassal. Although they can’t accurately spot a rat they might as well trap that vermin. Their emergency exits have been cut off but the payoff is thoroughly on their side]
"So im gonna dig this shit up?"
[You’ve already done enough. Why would I make a warrior dig a hole? Your profession doesn’t match the current assignment]
"What do you mean by– Whoa! Can’t ya give me a warning before you do that? It feels so wriggly and weird," Her chest expanded, and the three familiars who temporarily nested themselves appeared in her time of need
"So it’s finally our time to shine?"
[Correction! Dig a hole. My dead vassal and I are required to deal with the final offset to our escape. Shin move to your right]
A large surge of mana forms around the walls manipulated by Sage and the result showed hidden runes. Once the amount was met the wall was severed in half to form a passage never to be seen nor detected. Although she thought it was the exit the words Sage once said permeated her mind which made her doubt what lay ahead
[Tell me, after Morris was caught what do you remember?]
"I remember being teleported, Hugo acting strange, and his constant absence in our daily gathering," She replied whilst she walked, clasping her dagger, and eyes monitoring her surrounding
[Good... It seems my guess was correct. His role isn’t a hero. He’s nothing but a replacement. I felt it, his and Morris’s energy, both hostile and yet incomplete as if he’s abandoned]
"Wha– What do you mean?" The moment their path enters a clearing a light illuminates the dark path and at the center the bane in their plans
[Let me ask you what is a perfect hero? Is it the kindness of one’s heart? Bravery instilled in times of fear? A body granted by the heavens above?]
Shin freezes once she sees, Hugo Miller’s body crucified, hooked on a bountiful contraption. "What is this!!?"
[My dearest vassal... if there is a perfect hero then no mortal can be pure. No matter how brave, how kind, and how powerful they are perfection isn’t attainable]
[System: Intruder detected! Repair has yet to be completed! Emergency protocols have been triggered!
Status: Repairing of the target has been postponed. All exits have been shut. Termination of intruders is a must
Outcome: Overriding repairs T-minus 1 minute before override has been confirmed]
[Now you know... mortals can’t attain perfection until they reach godhood. But there are cases of attaining such perfection and this is one. Creation of intelligence unshackled by emotions. A god created by man, he is the shell of Deus Ex-machina]
[System: The intruder shall now be eliminated. The shell has awakened! Orders have been recognized, target confirmed!]
She swerved to her right after she felt the ground ruptured after Hugo landed near her spot with his body unresponsive. Hugo’s body dashes forth and she manages to bend her body in time that it avoids the tip of his blade. Shin never hesitated and kicked his barefoot in attempts to fiddle with his footing but to her surprise, her arm was clasped
[Watch out!]
"Terminate!!!" Hugo drives his sword onward to penetrate her chest she slides to the right her locked arm pointed to his chest
"Hugo snap out of it!"
Miller’s body reacted to the rising threat pointing at his chest and the body responded by releasing its grip. It kicks Shin upward and although she has no clear view of the spell fires off at Hugo’s rear and grazes his back. The attack she successfully managed to fire created a hole where the two of their bodies came crashing into the gears
"Where are we?"
[This is the workshop... the place where the two were created. What was once known as the iron fortress is the present Imperial capital. This is what they’ve been hiding all along, even if he’s just a shell he can injure Morris, he’s the weapon that’ll kill him]
"What!!? But does that mean–"
[Don’t even... he said that by no means can this person die he’s important for the future. But it’ll be a problem if Morris dies. We’ll just have to hinder their plans]
"You mean we’ll beat the crap out of ’em?"
[... correction. However, the chances of you living will be lowered. Don’t worry about the alarms. I already broke them on our way here just focus on what’s in front of you]
From the countless gears moving from left and right Shin holds her guard regarding the immensity of his foe. The power he possesses is nothing to be ignored, a physique unlike any other, what’s more, he’s the main character. This fight was way above her capability and yet her eyes remained steadfast where she was prepared to meet her end
