Reawakened with a Dual Survival System in the Apocalypse.-Chapter 31: Mapping
Chapter 31: Mapping
The following day...
"Hey! Who the hell stole my food stock last night?! Fess up right now!"
"Yeah... it’s not funny, guys!"
"Dammit! Someone better answer, or else!"
The voices of enraged people echoed from outside the tent.
Some of the people who were still sleeping began to wake up, including Veronica and the rest.
Opening her eyes, Kara slowly sat upright.
"Who the hell is making noise so early in the morning..."
Jayhan was seated at the side, fully dressed, and drawing on a piece of paper.
"You’re awake. I thought you were going to sleep your morning away."
Kara pouted, "Don’t tease me."
Once again, the shouting of a man echoed from outside,
"Answer me, dammit! Who took all the food and water!"
Kara sighed, and then she looked at Jayhan, about to say something.
"Don’t even think about it," Jayhan uttered.
"You haven’t even listened to what I wanted to say."
For the first time since she had woken up, Jayhan dropped the pen and turned his attention to her.
"You were just thinking of trading our food for coins, right?"
Kara leaned closer.
"It’s a good idea; we can earn more coins that way."
"Yeah, that would work if we wanted to starve to death for the next three days."
Kara didn’t say anything right after that.
She remembered the food they had gathered would most likely not last them that long.
"I’m sorry."
"No, it’s a good idea. Even I thought of it."
Jayhan went back to drawing as he continued,
"But after giving it a long thought, it’s best we don’t get involved with people we don’t know.
If they need food, they can get it from the green zone. It’s not our job to fill their bellies."
As he said that, he paused for a while,
’Yeah, that’s right. I know how it turned out for that one person that helped; it didn’t take long for people to take control of him. Some people are not worth saving.’
Suddenly, he felt Kara’s breasts pressing against his back, her lips close to his ears and her arms wrapped around him from behind.
"Since when did you become so evil?"
She teased, her hand making its way inside his clothes so she could rub his chest.
"I’m not being evil, just realistic."
Even as he answered, he didn’t take his eyes from the paper.
"You aren’t paying attention to me. What are you busy drawing?"
Kara leaned over him even more, trying to get a good view of the paper.
"It’s a map, surrounding this place, you should recognize it."
It was true; as Kara gazed upon the paper, she could tell it was a map.
Although, Jayhan wasn’t much of a drawer.
"That’s kind of impressive, my love. How do you remember it so well?"
"I have a mini map in my head."
While Kara thought he was talking about his sharp memory, Jayhan was talking about his S-class skill, Radar.
He was the first to wake up while everyone else was asleep.
So he practically had enough time to think all by himself.
During this time, he recalled something Seo said during their first encounter, something about not finding the green zones.
This led him to use his Radar skill to do a scan of the city and craft a map in his head.
And he realized Seo Yuna was right.
The green zones were disappearing.
Places where the green zone existed in the game no longer had them.
He wasn’t sure what was going on, but thanks to his mapping skill, he was able to nail down some green zones that were never in the game but still functional.
By the time he was done pinpointing them, he began to draw their locations on a map.
So far, he had drawn seven maps, and now he was on his eighth.
"Are you going to tell me what we need these maps for?"
Jayhan drew the last line on the map.
"One is for us, and the rest I plan to sell to the people out there."
"Sell?"
"Yes, since it’s a map for the green zones, I expect the wise ones amongst them will try to get their hands on it."
Kara simply smiled.
"I guess I’m going to work harder too." She stood up.
Jayhan raised his head to look at her.
All he saw was a beautiful lady staring back at him, with eyes so bright they could light up the room.
"You’re moving faster than I expected. As your girlfriend, it’s my duty to remain by your side and not fall behind."
’This coming from someone with multiple unique skills.’
"I don’t think you need to worry about that."
"Why?"
"You’re strong enough as it is."
"Pfft! Hahah!"
Kara laughed out loud, her arms wrapped around her stomach.
"Boyfriend of mine, isn’t this the same thing you say to me every time you don’t want me to get the same character as you?"
Jayhan didn’t say a word, because he already knew where she was going with it, and she was right.
"Don’t worry, no matter how strong I get, I’ll always be your Kara," she smiled teasingly.
"Sure."
Kara stretched.
Hmmm~
"I should go check up on the others and make sure they don’t get involved with the drama happening outside."
Jayhan rolled the finished map and threw it into his inventory.
"I’ll come along. I’m mostly done here."
And then he handed her a body spray.
"You smell like cum."
Kara’s face turned red at Jayhan’s comment.
She thought about sniffing herself to confirm if what he said was true.
Then she realized that would make the situation even more embarrassing for her, so she snatched the body spray and pouted.
"Thanks."
Jayhan smiled.
"Let’s go."
