Reawakened with a Dual Survival System in the Apocalypse.-Chapter 32: Prime suspects and an offer
Chapter 32: Prime suspects and an offer
"Good morning."
Jayhan stepped out of the tent, Kara following behind him.
Right on the picnic mat, the team had settled down.
Jayhan had already told them there was going to be breakfast; they dared not pass on such an opportunity.
Veronica narrowed her gaze on Jayhan and Kara.
"Did you two have sex?"
Kara flinched, but it quickly turned into a small frown.
"You really don’t have any filter when you speak."
"But I’m right, aren’t I?" Veronica pointed, "You two totally had sex behind my back."
"Why the hell would we have sex with you?"
"Don’t be such a selfish meanie..."
"You’re still annoying..."
Jayhan settled on the mat.
Getting in the way of those two wouldn’t get him anywhere.
"Hey, it turns out a couple of people woke up to find their belongings gone. With the scene you pulled yesterday, don’t you think we are the prime suspects?"
Seo asked, her eyes fixed on Jayhan.
Jayhan, on the other hand, reached into his inventory and began to pull out the food they were going to have for breakfast.
He calmly set them on the mat, bringing them out one by one.
"You think we are the prime suspects?"
Seo took a second to scan around, and even as the strangers were arguing, they still had their eyes on Jayhan and the rest.
"Isn’t that obvious?"
Jayhan handed her a loaf of bread and a can of soda.
"Don’t bother about that; fill your bellies. Tomorrow we are all heading out of the plaza."
Seo found it strange that Jayhan wasn’t bothered about the current situation.
The crowd was getting louder, and it seemed like a fight would break out any time soon.
If everyone turned to them as the main suspects, it could get very bad.
"You’re a strange one," she uttered before taking the food from him.
Soon, everyone was seated on the mat, having their breakfast as Jayhan had asked them to do. fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com
Taking a bite, Jayhan couldn’t help but take a quick glance at the fight that was brewing.
"Don’t you dare say shit to me! You were the last one to sleep!"
A man in a dirty office suit yelled while pointing at a little girl.
"I didn’t, old man! If anything, shouldn’t we be asking that group over there!"
The girl pointed at Jayhan’s group.
Suddenly, they all went silent for a while, hesitating to say a word.
"Dammit," someone finally uttered, "I’ll go do it myself!"
The person in question was a policeman.
He had his uniform on and a gun strapped to the side of his waist.
Offering to be the one to confront Jayhan, everyone immediately lined up behind him, curious to see how it would play out.
The only reason most of them were scared was mainly because they saw what Jayhan did to the last person that approached him.
No one wanted to be in that situation.
"Good morning, I hope you lovely people slept well," said the policeman as he stood before the group.
Only Jayhan and Adonis paid the man any attention. The girls continued eating.
Jayhan got a closer look at the man’s face.
’Of course it’s you.’

Jayhan knew who he was in an instant.
In the game, this man wasn’t just a policeman; he was also of a cannibal cult that would soon be formed.
"Can we help you?"
The policeman placed his hand on his chest.
"My name is Jacob, as you can see with my badge, I am a policeman under this city’s oath."
"You have the etiquette, and while I respect that, I do believe my group leader wasn’t asking for your name. What is it you want?"
Adonis chimed in and took a sip of his drink.
The policeman now had a serious look on his face.
"An incident happened while everyone was asleep," he began.
"People have complained about their food going missing overnight. There are a lot of people here, so something like this was bound to happen later on. The lack of food will cause an uproar, and if we are going to live in this plaza peacefully for the next four days, peace is needed the most."
Jayhan threw him a glance.
"You’re not here to question if we were the ones that stole it?"
The policeman sighed and then scratched the back of his head.
"I guess you saw right through me."
’It was pretty obvious.’
"I did think of that, but even if you were the ones that stole it, it’s not like you’ll confess and hand it over."
"So, what are you here for then?"
"Simple. I want everyone here to live as best as possible. We all know how dangerous the world is right now."
The policeman took a step forward. "Your group looks to be well stocked with food and other necessities. Surely you feel guilty being the only ones living it up in such a situation; as such, I feel you should hand it over, so everyone here can have something to eat today."
Jayhan didn’t say a word, but the policeman kept going.
"The last time I let my guard down, the thief managed to steal everyone’s belongings, but now, if you hand over what you have to me, my boys and I can keep it safe."
Hahaha!
Adonis laughed out loud.
"You humans never cease to amaze me. You would blame your lack of resources on others? Why should he have to give you anything? Do you not fear the stupidity that just left your mouth?"
The policeman frowned a bit.
"I’m trying to look out for everyone here. Being selfish while others die makes you no different from this apocalypse."
"It has only been a day; humans do not starve from a day’s hunger. If the humans are feeling hungry, then let them hunt for food. I despise hungry peasants who can’t work for anything."
Adonis spat.
