Reincarnated Jester: Taming Players-Chapter 69: New Enemy
Chapter 69: New Enemy
Jung could hear loud noises far from him. "Probably, similar things are happening to the other students as well," he guessed, but didn’t change his destination.
Finally, enough time appeared at his disposal, enabling him to ingest the pills.
Reaching into his inventory and taking them out, Jung swallowed them painfully, fully expecting to tire himself out.
Minutes passed by, and as he reached the cave and almost met Mira, he still had a long way to go.
So he stopped and rested before facing her.
By the time he was in good shape to keep going, another five minutes had gone to waste.
"I hate this. This is a chore and nothing else," he complained to his two companions but didn’t stall more than that.
"That’s what happens when you are devouring them in one go. No sane person has to do that," Nero said behind him.
Jung spat in a teasing tone, "I know how to get a huge amount of taming pills for you. It’s gonna happen tomorrow, and you could look forward to it."
Shuddering, Nero immediately went silent.
There was no anticipation in her stillness.
[I love watching you suffer, so I have nothing to complain about,] the system said, not hiding her sadistic nature.
"I will get my revenge," Jung promised, gobbling another explorer archetype pill.
[You still have to deal with the ruler god, and now that the Archeons are on your bad side—as you would say—you are in deep shit.]
Vex spoke and acted like a human, reminding Jung to check the status window.
After swallowing the last pill, he called forth magical runes, and read his system panel.

’Fair enough.’ Realizing that Vex was on version 6, Jung thought happily.
"What’s new about you?" Jung asked, expecting a half-assed answer.
[Can’t you see?] the system questioned, acting confused. [I am prettier than I was before.]
Jung’s eyelids twitched in irritation, but smiling, he said, "Sure, sure, beautiful."
Then he glanced at his progression and sighed. "Two damn percent is all I need."
For the average human, Tier VI was a tremendous achievement, as not everyone could overcome the bottleneck.
However, there was no such thing for Jung, and he could bypass that barrier with no complications.
Finished with his tasks, Jung appeared before Mira.
The girl stood in front of the meat paste that had once been Barni. "Do you think his death was painful?" she asked Jung, acknowledging his arrival.
"Probably," Jung didn’t even try to lie.
"Exactly my thoughts," Mira said, and observing Jung, she asked, "What happened? Which one did you kill?"
"Astra..." Jung said the name and felt nothing about it.
Hearing his confession, Mira didn’t respond for some time. "He was barely a kid. Just like Barni, you and me." There was no judgement in her voice, only sadness and emptiness.
"I know," Jung said and added, "But he had to die."
"Did he, though?" Mira asked with a misty expression.
Jung didn’t answer. Standing and allowing the girl to collect her thoughts, he lingered and opened his mouth after seeing she was ready to move.
"Leora should be inside. Come with me."
"Okay," she said and followed him.
The path was in Jung’s memory, and they reached the place relatively quickly.
However, she wasn’t there. Jung had left her lying on the ground near the Scar that no longer existed, and she should have been knocked out.
Yet there was no trace of her. She had completely disappeared, leaving no clues behind.
"Good job, dumbass," Nero laughed in his mind. "Now she’s gone."
"Stfu. You aren’t in the position to criticize me," Jung spat at the cat and said to Mira, "She isn’t here. Let’s get away from here."
Nodding, the girl walked with him. "I was meaning to ask, but I couldn’t find the right time. Why is it following us? I remember seeing it before; is it really yours?"
"Yep. She’s a cat," Jung said and smirked. "She’s an animal I tamed."
As soon as Jung said that, Nero hopped onto his shoulders and smacked his head, almost breaking his neck from the force; her strength was still fearsome.
"I think she’s angry," Mira said as a matter of fact, giggling.
"No shit, I’m angry..." Nero made a fuss, but no one except Jung could hear her.
Leaving the cave, Nero hid inside Jung’s heart, making Mira exclaim, but Jung asked her to keep it a secret.
Five minutes later, they reached the entrance point, the place where everyone had spawned after Walt brought them here.
The sight they saw could be described as pure chaos. Dead bodies lay everywhere, and injured, bloodied students filled the area.
Every instructor who betrayed the academy had already fled the scene, leaving teachers who fought their students, but the loss was clear to see.
Teenagers were crying in fear, but some brave ones helped wounded classmates and teachers.
Yet once a green atmosphere, a field stuffed with expectations and a beautiful forest were nowhere to be found. freewebnøvel.coɱ
The trees were broken and scorched.
Holes covered the landscape, and the smell was so strong it was begging students to vomit.
And in this situation, where children were dying and teachers were powerless, the lightning beam appeared, surrounding the land and healing everyone whose life could be saved.
Then the culprit of this spectacle showed up.
He was wearing white clothes, cloaking himself to the brim, and his presence birthed a huge uproar.
Of course, it was Walt.
The guy who plotted this entire massacre, and was so brazen that he saved the students whose lives were in danger because of him in the first place.
"He looks like a hero," Nero said, but added, instantly putting a smile on Jung’s face, "Hero with no style."
Jung agreed with the statement, glaring at the man with eyes full of malice.
He didn’t conceal his bloodlust and gained the attention of the man.
And they locked eyes with each other.
Jung scrutinized his latest opponent.
"I am going to teach him new magic tricks."
After Jung slew the Chosen One, and before he reached the gods, he had one more enemy to defeat.
[Ding!]
The system’s voice rang in his ear.
