Corey glanced at Divine who was looking at him with an expression mixed with surprise and relief.

He jumped towards Divine and landed on the ground with Melissa still in his grasp.

"How...are you fully healed?"

Divine asked with a baffled expression, and Corey raised his brows.

"Shouldn't I be asking you that question. Your body is a mess."

A wry smile appeared on Divine's lips, and he glanced at his hands and body. After Melissa tried escaping, he was forced to stop his usage of elemental essence or else his life and future would be in immense danger.

He knew just how badly injured his body, and the thought of the resources he would need to heal himself almost caused him to cough out a mouthful of blood in anger.

"What do you want to do with her? She's extremely powerless at the moment."

Corey's voice drifted into Divine's ears, and Divine looked at Melissa who had a cold expression.

A flicker of pain flashed in Divine's eyes before a cold and ruthless light glowed in his eyes.

"Kill her."

Corey nodded, and then he tightened his fist around her neck. Melissa's eyes widened, and she started making sounds from her throat.

Due to Corey's acupuncture sealing technique, her arms and legs felt extremely weak and she could not event mount up a struggle.

Corey looked at Divine, waiting for him to say something in response to Melissa's reaction. However, Divine watched with a cold expression without saying anything and Corey continued choking her.

Panic, anger, shock, and fear appeared in her eyes as she continued making pleading sounds from her throat.

Just as Melissa was about to lose consciousness and die, Divine raised his hand, signalling for Corey to stop.

Melissa coughed, and Divine coldly spoke with cold eyes.

"So? Anything you want to say?"

Melissa inhaled and exhaled multiple times, and then she glanced at Corey before shifting her gaze back at Divine with a fearless and calm eyes.

Corey furrowed his brows slightly when he saw Melissa's expression.

'So she was faking her reaction and expression when I was choking her?'

'She's a very good actress.'

Just as Corey had this thought, Melissa calmly spoke.

"If you kill me, your plans of leaving the Underworld would be revealed to the Underworld officials, the Outsiders, and the Underworld residents."

Divine's eyes frosted over when he heard Melissa's words, and even Corey had a solemn expression.

"I've already set up numerous backup plans in the likelihood that my ambush fails."

A small smile appeared on Melissa's lips, and then she looked at her U-Watch.

"If I'm not released and left alive in thirty minutes, the entire Underworld is going to know of your plans."

Melissa gave a wicked smile at Divine, and then a soft chuckle escaped her lips when she saw Divine's soul-chilling eyes.

"How cute... So? Anything you want to say?"

Melissa repeated Divine's exact words with a wide grin, and Divine coldly scoffed.

"Yeah. How cute."

"Wh-?"

Before Melissa could react, a dagger appeared in Divine's hand as he swung it towards Melissa's neck.

Melissa's eyes widened in disbelief and shock, she tried to speak, but the dagger in her neck prevented her from speaking.

Divine swung his hand once again and Melissa's head flew.

Corey glanced at Melissa's head as he landed on the ground with a thud, and then he looked at his fingers before shifting his gaze towards Divine.

"Were you planning on cutting my fingers with her neck?"

Divine rolled his eyes with a chuckle, "I knew you'd be able to react to my sudden attack."

Corey scoffed, and then he looked around.

Seeing the Headquarters of Neon, a building and idea he thought of as his child, becoming a demolished building brought about an unpleasant taste in his mouth.

The Neon Headquarters was an idea of his, and it was not just an idea, a building, or a headquarters, it was their home... The home of The Breakers.

What made the sight of his home being destroyed was the fact that he had not even created enough memories in his home.

Their home was newly built, but in less than a year, it was now a pile of rocks, stones, and rubbles.

Neon Headquarters not only housed the members of the Breakers, it also had other workers in the building. However, Corey doubted they were alive because most of them were average Tier 1s, Tier 2s, and Tier 3s.

Corey had ignored all these people because he cared not for them, however, he suddenly remembered that Selene and Kiefer were also in the building.

'Divine said that they were in the training room. Are they still alive?'

'Selene should have been able to handle the shockwave and aftereffects of the attacks since she's a Tier 4. Hopefully, she was able to protect Kiefer.'

Corey furrowed his brows in thought and he glanced at Divine. He saw him consuming a rare medicinal herb while sitting in a cross-legged position and with a calm expression.

'He doesn't seem to be bothered by Melissa's words. Maybe he has a plan?'

'Hopefully he doesn't take her words for granted or the consequences would be dire.'

Corey exhaled softly, and then his eyes glowed brightly. He increased the output of his Eyes and Ears of Omniscience so as to locate his two underlings.

'They're also lucky that they were not in the meeting of they'd be dead. Was it an effect of Kiefer's luck?'

Corey furrowed his brows with a pondering expression. Knowing that time was of the essence, he pushed these thoughts to one of his Stars of Consciousness, and then he focused on his task of finding Selene and Kiefer in the destroyed seven storey building.

However, the moment he increased the output of his Ears of Omniscience past a certain point, he heard an extremely subtle and nigh-silent sound.

BADUM!

'Is that...'

Corey frowned, and then his eyes slowly moved towards Rosa.

'A heartbeat?'
