Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon-Chapter 712 - 711: Stop Whining
'A heartbeat?'
Corey could not almost believe his ears, but the more he focused on the sound and approached Rosa, the clearer and 'louder' the sound became in his ears.
Rosa's heart was still beating, although it was extremely faint, so faint to the point that only those with an abnormal hearing ability like him would be able to hear the sound of the heartbeats.
Corey stood in front of Rosa who was still encased by Divine's large cube of ice.
Without bothering to speak to Divine, he placed his palm on the cube of ice, and then runes of fire began spreading from his hand to the ice cube.
The ice cube began melting, and Divine opened his eyes and snapped his head in Rosa's direction with a cold light in his eyes.
He was expecting an enemy but when he saw that Corey was the reason behind the melting of the ice cube, he paused and frowned in confusion.
"What are you doing?"
With his eyes entirely fixed on Rosa, Corey did not even spare Divine a glance, and he answered him briefly.
"I think Rosa is alive."
"What?" Divine's eyes widened, and he looked at Rosa for a second before subconsciously looking at Triple X, Dave, and Fatty Black Bonez.
"Are you sure?"
He shifted his gaze back at Corey who had completely melted the ice cube, and was now crouching in front of Rosa.
Divine would have been surprised by this because the ice had been created using Elemental Essence and was even powerful enough to withstand his attacks of Elemental Essence and even the shockwaves and attacks of so many Mystic Beings.
Such powerful ice had been melted by Corey in the span of three seconds. However, the thought of Rosa still being alive prevented any such thoughts from appearing in Divine's mind.
Meanwhile, Corey did not give a reply to Divine's question. Instead, his attention was completely on Rosa.
Through his Eyes of Omniscience, he could see her internal system, and he was slightly fascinated by her physique and mana pathways because it better than that of an average individual.
The urge to study and observe Rosa's body surged in Corey's heart, but he suppressed it and focused on Rosa's heart.
It had a hole in it which was because of one of the Black Mandate members piercing her heart with a sword, and when Corey saw this, any thought of Rosa still being alive almost vanished from his mind.
At first, he saw that it was not beating or moving and he could not help but think that he had heard wrong. However, three seconds later, the heart moved and the sound of the heartbeat brightened his eyes.
He quickly placed his hands over her left chest, and then used Dream Healing to heal her dying heart.
Although Rosa's heart was not completely dead, Corey knew that if he did not hurry, her heart would die.
'From what I can see...the main reason why her heart is not completely dead is because of Divine's ice.'
'Luckily for her, the chill of Divine's ice slowed down the death of her heart... If not for that, her heart would have died.'
Although Corey had this thought, a deep frown could still be seen on his face.
'Although her heart is not completely dead, she's not breathing at all... It's like she's dead.'
Corey's frown deepened, and then he looked at Rosa's face.
'I don't know if she'd wake up even if I completely heal her heart.'
'... But...what about her soul? If I can't sense her soul, then that means she's dead.'
Corey used one of his newly gained ability after advancing to Tier 3, Soul Perception, on Rosa. The moment he used Soul Perception on Rosa, he saw Rosa's soul and unknown to him, a small smile crept up on his lips.
'Although her soul is still within her, it was slowly dissipating... But with every second that passes, I can also see that her dissipated soul is returning to her.'
Corey thought with a light smile, and then a hand grabbed his shoulder.
Without getting startled or looking at the owner of the hand, Corey spoke before the owner of the hand could speak.
"She's alive."
Divine's mouth hung open with a variety of emotions on his face- relief, joy, shock, disbelief, pain, skepticism, and pain.
"But-" Divine paused and looked at Rosa with a complicated expression.
"But-"
"But you can't sense any life from her right?"
Corey looked at Divine as he completed his words, and Divine shook while holding Corey's shoulder tightly.
Corey smiled, "I'm not going to give any promises that she'll live, but just know that I'll do my best to make sure that she lives."
Divine tightened his grip on Corey's shoulder, and then he nodded with a variety of emotions in his eyes.
"By the way, don't break my shoulder."
Divine chuckled softly, "Oh, sorry. My bad."
Corey shook his head, and then he shifted his attention back to Rosa.
Meanwhile, Divine looked at Fatty Black Bonez, Dave, and Triple X, and a tinge of hope flashed in his eyes.
He looked at Corey and opened his mouth, but Corey cut him off before he could even speak.
"They're dead, Divine... From the moment I sensed that Rosa was alive, I also checked the others...but they're dead, Divine... They're gone."
Divine clenched his fists tightly and gritted his teeth with sadness and anger etched unto his face.
"Fatty... Dave... Triple X... Rosa... They deserved none of this... Because of me... Because of my incompetence, they died without being able to even put up a fight."
"I'm a failure as a-"
"Hey Divine."
Corey cut off Divine while looking at him with an expression of mock anger and disgust, and when Divine saw Corey's expression, he was taken aback.
"What?"
Divine asked, and Corey coldly replied.
"Stop whining like a little bitch and tell me what our next plan is."
