Splitting the Heavens-Chapter 1714: Hai Yuanyuan’s Skills
Chapter 1714: Hai Yuanyuan’s Skills
Perhaps due to the harvesting of the Void Lotus, the separate space that was contained in the giant ark suddenly collapsed. The inward-collapsing void vortex devoured everything around it, and even several cultivators from the Spirit Tip World struggled to find their footing. They were sucked towards the vortex.
Cai Qiao and the other True Immortals were naturally closest to the void vortex. With their profound cultivation, they easily resisted the pull of the vortex. They even managed to save some of their disciples.
Still, 3 or 4 Martial Dipper Realm cultivators sucked into the vortex one after another, and at their cultivation level, there was no way they could live.
Be it Cai Qiao or the other True Immortals, they were too preoccupied to mourn the loss of their elite cultivators. Their furious gazes were fixed on a figure that had shot out from the collapsing space before the vortex formed.
The mysterious figure managed to use some strange movement art to flee from the collapsing space at the very last second. She looked around only to see 3 pairs of furious eyes belonging to True Immortals. Those terrifying figures charged straight at her, and in her current cultivation level, she could tell that of the 3 True Immortals who were rushing at her, 2 were high-level True Immortals!
As they were about to encircle her and seal off the surrounding void, the greatly alarmed Hai Yuanyuan couldn't help but yell in fright. In a flash, she transformed into a streak of light that shot into the distance.
Hai Yuanyuan’s Five Elements Movement Art was truly exquisite. If she was fully focused on running, she would have broken through their encirclement before it could form. However, she was holding a basin-sized gray lotus in her hand which she needed to protect.
"Void Lotus!"
The treasure might have been nurtured in a separate space in the giant ark, but Hai Yuanyuan discovered she couldn’t place it in any spatial artifact after she harvested it. She had no choice but to carry it in her arms while protecting it with her inner qi.
It was precisely because of the Void Lotus that her speed and ability to travel through the void was affected.
"Oh? It’s Hai Yuanyuan from the Spirit Luxuriant World!” Cai Qiao exclaimed. As he had the highest cultivation among those present, he accurately determined her direction of escape and was the quickest to act. He managed to intercept her.
A conflicted look appeared on his face after he identified her, but he quickly covered it up and asked in a stern voice, “We have been fighting over the Void Lotus for so long... Isn’t taking it away without even telling us a little rude, True Immortal Hai?”
Hai Yuanyuan, though cut off from escape, did not panic. Instead, she chuckled, "This lotus grew inside the mountain. All of you were fighting outside and it hardly seemed like you were fighting over it. Aren’t you just robbing me after seeing my treasure?”
Seeing Hai Yuanyuan turning the tables, the third tier True Immortal immediately stepped forward and snapped, "How dare a mere first tier True Immortal act so boldly? Considering the alliance between our worlds, leave the treasure behind and we won’t do anything. Otherwise... You can’t blame us for being ruthless!”
Hai Yuanyuan remained unfazed even though she noticed them sealing the space with their domains. While looking at them, she giggled, “It’s not impossible for me to leave this treasure behind. However... There are 3 of you! Who am I supposed to give it to?”
Cai Qiao’s gaze was solemn, but his tone was unusually calm, "Let’s not play these cheap tricks anymore, Young Lady Hai. Just put down the treasure and considering the alliance with your Spirit Luxuriant World and Sage Shang’s reputation, we will let you leave. However, if you continue to mess around, we won’t care about the alliance any longer.”
His words were partly aimed at Hai Yuanyuan, but it was also to signal the other True Immortals. Considering the bigger picture, Cai Qiao needed to remind them that Hai Yuanyuan’s identity wasn’t as simple as it seemed, as he wasn’t trying to set a trap for them on purpose so that they would offend a Sage.
Their expressions changed instantly, but when they looked at the Void Lotus in Hai Yuanyuan’s arms, their gazes heated up again.
Cai Qiao and the others stepped forward in unison. They started to close the encirclement and it was obvious they were determined to obtain the Void Lotus no matter what.
It was also at that moment when Hai Yuanyuan’s expression changed. She flung 3 talismans at the 3 True Immortals.
Having visited the Spirit Luxuriant World, Cai Qiao was familiar with Shang Xia. He knew that she was the heir to Shang Xia’s martial path, and Shang Xia was a superior rank six Talisman Grandmaster.
That was probably also the reason she was able to remain so composed and confident while surrounded by 3 True Immortals. She probably had talismans made by Shang Xia, and a substantial quantity of them at that.
"Be careful of the rank six talismans!”
Cai Qiao warned the others again. He pulled his domain towards himself for protection and no longer pressed forward.
Hearing his warning, the others did the same and acted as though they were facing a powerful enemy.
However, when the talismans were fully activated, Cai Qiao and the fourth tier True Immortal realized they had been tricked. The talismans flying towards them were merely rank five talismans that barely caused their domains to ripple.
Even with a Talisman Grandmaster as her mentor, Hai Yuanyuan's supply of sixth-rank talismans was far from lavish. She only had a few of them to be used in an emergency.
However, her battle style wasn’t as one-dimensional as they had thought. In the direction of the third tier True Immortal, a massive palm formed in the void and crashed down on his domain.
It was a rank six True Space Restriction Palm Talisman!
That was the only rank six talisman among the 3 she had thrown. Though it was ranked among the lowest in terms of strength among the rank six talismans in Shang Xia’s arsenal and hardly a threat to high-level True Immortals, it was extremely effective against everyone else.
Even though it didn’t severely injure the third tier True Immortal, it slapped him senseless. He was barely able to maintain his domain and he was sent flying, exposing a gap in their encirclement.
Hai Yuanyuan, who had keen instincts, transformed into a beam of five colored light and flew through the opening.
Realizing they had been duped, Cai Qiao and the other fourth tier True Immortal raced after her. Even though they were a step behind, they were still high-level True Immortals. They immediately acted to stop her. A rainbow-colored bridge appeared in the void in an attempt to pin her down while the fourth tier True Immortal slashed through the void in an attempt to seal off her escape route once more.
In a critical moment, Hai Yuanyuan activated another talisman. The rank six talisman resembled a scroll, and a myriad of lights burst forth the next instant. It became a rainbow-colored cloud that surrounded her.
That was a rank six Myriad Cloud Talisman. It was a peak-tier rank six talisman and second only to rank seven talismans.
Be it Cai Qiao's rainbow bridge or the fourth tier True Immortal’s blade qi, neither could inflict the slightest harm on Hai Yuanyuan.
"Cowering bastard, let’s see where you can run now!" The third tier True Immortal who finally recovered, felt utterly humiliated. He was furious as he swung his divine weapon at the fleeing Hai Yuanyuan. Unfortunately, even the high-level True Immortals failed to do anything to the cloud, much less him. All he did was to destroy a small part of the cloud.
"Let’s see how long you can hide in there!" The third tier True Immortal continued angrily.
However, before he could finish speaking, a surge of qi abruptly emerged from within the billowing clouds and mist. It was so powerful that even the effects of the Myriad Cloud Talisman failed to conceal its mighty presence. The pressure that came was so immense that the third tier True Immortal who was approaching the cloud found it difficult to circulate his inner qi.
