A glass shattered on the floor then came another and another...
"You should stop. I left a good drink in that drawer over there, hopefully, you know how to handle that one since you can’t handle your marriage."
The words kept ringing in his head over and over again, shattering the remaining sanity he had. It has never been heard that a woman divorces her husband hours after marriage. It is possible that the woman was never in love with the man, but everyone in Halkhalls knows that Harlow Blackwood was head over heels for Alanis Hamilton.
It is a fight of heirs...
There were different speculations online about why Harlow had backed out of the marriage. Some said it’s because the heir of the Hamilton family is impotent, while others say his member was so little.
"Really?" He muttered as he thought of everything he had seen.
Still in his thoughts, his phone rang. Alanis checked the caller and smiled. Just when he thought she would never call. He knew she couldn’t live without him. He had been scared for the first time in his life.
For the first time, he questioned her love for him. Was it not as strong as she had confessed on their first date night? It was the night his grandmother had personally gone to the Blackwood’s household to fetch Harlow.
Alanis let his phone ring, till it stopped. He passes his hands through his hair as he stares at the screen, waiting for another call. And then it came.
He almost jumped for joy, but he cleared his throat and picked it up.
"Couldn’t even stay a day without me I see." Alanis couldn’t hide the excitement in his voice.
"Don’t flatter yourself, Mr Hamilton, I called because grandma is here in my mansion. Come pick her up." Her cold voice was heard. He opened his mouth to speak but she hung up before he could.
Alanis stared at the screen, his knuckles white as his grip tightened on the phone. The fury that boiled inside him was unmatched, and with a guttural yell, he hurled the device across the room, shattering it against the wall.
The commotion drew his assistant, Gus, who cautiously entered the darkened office. The only light came from the moon filtering through the large windows, illuminating Alanis’s imposing figure. He stood hunched over the desk, his head bowed, and his hands pressed against the polished wood. When he lifted his gaze, his bloodshot eyes pierced through the dimness, exuding a menace that made Gus freeze in place.
The daring assistant who looked like he had signed his death said, "Sir, it’s been 24 hours and your wife has yet to return." Gus pressed his lips together when those dark bloodshot eyes met his. Alanis looked like a monster, the devil in human form.
Gus prepared himself inwardly for his death, but rather than death, a dark chuckle escaped Alanis’s lips, low and menacing. It built into a laugh that echoed through the room, sending shivers down Gus’s spine.
"She’s toying with me," Alanis murmured, his voice laced with bitter amusement. "She thinks she can play these little games and make me doubt her." His laughter ceased, replaced by a cold, calculating smile
That scheming woman was only messing with him. Because she heard him say she would be back tonight, that’s why she hadn’t returned. She was playing hard to get with him.
"I know her game now Gus." Alanis smiled.
"She’ll be back within three days." He said confidently again. Harlow was obsessed with him, there’s no way she’s left him for good. ƒгeewebnovёl.com
"Alright, sir." Gus nodded.
"Prepare my car, we’re going to the Blackwood’s mansion." He said.

"You better sought this out before morning Harlow," Elisa said through gritted teeth, pointing at Grandma Hamilton, before leaving with her daughter to the dining room. She already hated Harlow because of what she had said earlier. Elisa hates to be reminded of her place in the family.
She has been mocked more than enough, that’s the reason she had eliminated Harlow’s mother in the first place, to take her place, yet, even if she’s now the wife, she’ll always be a mistress. Her daughter Claudia will always suffer the fate of an illegitimate child.
Harlow wasn’t jusr her father’s favorite, she was the family’s favorite, and she was now Grandma Hamilton’s favorite. The only key to Alanis’s heart...
Then what is left for her daughter Claudia? She clenched her fist.
She has watched Harlow outshine her daughter in everything for so long. Harlow was smarter, when they were in school, she had better grades, and that’s why Claudia settled for a local celebrity.
Harlow was better looking, she was the best jewelry maker in the globe even if no one was aware of her identity. Then a thought came to Elisa. Having been worked under Harlow in their jewelry company, Claudia knew a few things about jewels.
How about she steal Harlow’s identity and be the best jeweler? She smiled at her thought.
She will have to discuss with her daughter about it.
Elisa sat on her seat and watched Harlow place Grandma Hamilton on a seat before sitting beside her disdainfully. If she had a way of killing this girl, she would do it right now, but she would never soil her hands with her dirty blood. First, she would take Frank out, and then his useless daughter, and both she and Claudia can live happily with the Blackwood’s wealth.
But one thing Elisa failed to notice was that this Harlow wasn’t the push-around anymore. She said her mind whenever she wanted. She spits Vernon and will never let these two mess with her family ever again.
In her past life, they had been the brains behind everything. The people who manipulated the Hamilton family against her. But in this life, she will just have to take them both out. When she’s done with them, Garth and her family can suffer the consequences.
The servants started bringing out the dishes one after another. Just like she asked the head chef, they had prepared everyone’s favorite meal. She smirked. She couldn’t wait to get a good laugh tonight. Claudia and her mother will taste a little piece of her revenge tonight.
"I have decided to invite Garth over tomorrow so that we can start the preparation for Claudia’s wedding." Elisa stared proudly. She didn’t care if society mocked her, after all, Claudia had met and dated Alanis first.
Almost, Immediately, a servant walked into the room.
"Sir, Mr Hamilton is here."
