The Crown's Seduction-Chapter 430: Dahlia’s Presence
Chapter 430: Dahlia’s Presence
Dani grunted as she tossed and turned on her bed. It was almost past midnight, and she was still awake despite everything she tried.
"Damn, I’m supposed to wake up early to meet Dahlia, so I should be resting right now," Dani mumbled to herself.
She couldn’t believe how much Abel affected her to the point that she couldn’t sleep normally despite her tiredness. That one scene where Abel almost kissed her haunted her; him snatching the orange from her mouth constantly playing in her mind.
She unknowingly touched her lips. It happened so fast that she didn’t even realize it happened until after the fact.
"Did we kiss?" she murmured with a frown. Surely, their lips touched when he stole the orange from her mouth. "I don’t even know what to count as my first kiss with that man!"
She didn’t want to consider the kiss she did to cast the thrall chaining spell on him as their first kiss, nor did she even want to consider what she recalled from when she got drunk. She felt like it was just a dream. Surely, it didn’t happen, and she didn’t want to confirm that to Abel to find out.
"Ahh, this is so frustrating!" she hissed to herself as she buried her face in the pillow.
Eventually, she decided to just try and count sheep in her head. Luckily, she fell asleep, but unknown to her, Abel went inside her bedchamber again after he was done checking all the arrangements for Dahlia’s arrival. It wasn’t that he didn’t trust Dani with this job. It was just that he was aware of how exhausted she was lately, especially when the queen was unconscious. As such, he made sure that things were perfectly arranged as he relayed it to her a while ago.
"You look so tame while you’re sleeping," he murmured as he gently removed the strands of her hair covering some of her face.
Dani was human unlike him, so she would obviously get tired if she didn’t get enough sleep. Looking at her, he smiled at seeing how deep she slept. He then let out a deep sigh as he stared at her peaceful sleeping face. A while ago, he almost lost his control. He couldn’t believe that his attraction toward Dani had become this strong.
He wanted to kiss her, but he didn’t want to take advantage of her. But despite those thoughts, he still managed to get a peck of her lips thanks to the orange he peeled for her. Up until now, he couldn’t still comprehend this strong force pulling him deeper into her. The spell she cast on him shouldn’t have had that kind of effect since it was nothing but a bond to command him to do things, so what was this he was feeling then?
Some time into watching Dani sleep, she stirred, so Abel quickly disappeared before she knew he was there.

Dani slowly opened her eyes. Looking out from her window, it was still dark out, meaning that she hopefully woke up on time. Yawning, she stretched her arms before getting up from bed to get ready.
Her body was so lethargic because she was still sleep-deprived. "I should get a proper and full sleep soon," she mumbled followed by another yawn. How she wanted to just stay in bed more. She gently patted her cheeks, hoping it would help to wake her up.
They needed to be up before the sun was out to wait for Dahlia’s arrival, and she also had to check on their Queen and see if she already left.
After she was done preparing, she walked out into the hallways and saw Zaila and Krisha waiting for her.
"The Queen already left with wizard Lurio," Zaila told her. "How come you wake up a bit late?"
It was true. It was the first time that she wasn’t the first among them to wake up. fгeewebnovёl.com
Dani yawned and murmured, "I slept late."
"Understandable," Krisha said. "Anyway, let’s head to the entrance of the secret chambers."
From there, they made their way to their next destination. At the eastern side of Corvus Palace was a secret wing that they had just recently found out from Lord Gregory. There were secret chambers there that were protected by a powerful spell that could detain anyone in private without them even knowing. Some chambers were even being used for confidential meetings and gatherings.
Obviously, she and the rest arranged one private bedchamber for Dahlia in those same chambers.
"Why is she arriving at such an awkward time?" Krisha whined.
The three of them didn’t like the idea of Dahlia’s arrival being this early in the day. Of course, it was good news that she was alive since they wouldn’t want to think ill of a person like her who already suffered enough from her twin sister Rosela’s scheme, but it was still a valid complaint. It was also something to consider that Dahlia was the king’s first love, and right now, their Queen wasn’t on good terms with him after he found out the secrets their queen hid from him.
In truth, it wasn’t only him that just realized the truth. They all knew some details about how their queen had angel blood in her, but they all knew that it wasn’t all there was to it, especially with the divine dagger in her body being involved. Not that they minded not knowing, of course. It was best that they didn’t know the entire details and instead trusted their Queen on this matter. Revealing her secret about having angel blood was enough of a risk for them already.
"I’ve been thinking overnight about this... Today is the final trial for Princess Xenia in Cordon. It’s already a miracle that she passed the element forest..." Krisha mumbled as they made their way to their destination. "Our Queen exposed her identity about their angel blood last night, so I guess it’s bound to happen eventually. Maybe Princess Xenia will have no choice but to expose it in the final battle, right?"
"That’s true. Our Queen is a very careful person, and she won’t reveal important information like this if it’s not time yet, so I guess the whole world will find out about Queen Dana and her being an angel eventually," Zaila began. "In myths, they are called Nephilim, but those are giants, and they are mostly sons of demons. I believe there should be a proper term for their kind since our Queen Dana was unlike other fallen angels. She’s a repenter who is living in this world trying her best to walk in heaven’s grace and will, unlike demons. Nephilims in history were known to be destructive, and our Queen, along with Princess Xenia and King Ezekiel, are not."
"You can stop with the exposition already," Dani scoffed with a smile. "We can talk about this later when we find more books that can expand our knowledge about our Queen’s kind later."
It was quite an interesting topic for them since they only knew little about angels roaming the earth. Their existence wasn’t as known as all the other beings aside from demons who would vocally proclaim their heritage and power to wreak havoc and terror on earth, and it would be best for them to learn more.
Eventually, they arrived at the secret wing in the Corvus palace and entered. Just in time, King Nikolai and Lord Fritz appeared before them with a woman right in between them. Dani gulped as she stared at the woman who almost looked like an exact copy of Rosela except for the color of her eyes. Rosela had a sharp copper color in her eyes while Dahlia had a warm, clear, and luminous chestnut color to hers.
With their work in front of them, Dani unknowingly looked around. For some reason, she felt relieved seeing that Abel wasn’t around. It was only Lord Fritz who was with the king at the moment.
From there, King Nikolai introduced them to each other, and Dahlia gave them a timid and genuine smile while it was being done. Even though she resembled Rosela, the aura she exuded was different and could easily be distinguished from her twin’s. Still, looks could be deceiving, so they shouldn’t let their guard down so easily. The fact remained that Dahlia was brought in by this Zoran who was knowingly colluding with the Demon King, an enemy of this kingdom. He was also the one who helped Rosela get her way with dark magic.
"I will entrust her to you three," the king told them with a curt nod. "I’ll go and quickly follow my Queen to Cordon arena now."
The king then left, and somehow Dani felt satisfied seeing how the king didn’t seem much affected by Dahlia’s presence. She appreciated his choice of words saying ’my Queen,’ emphasizing that he was already taken.
Despite this, she would still make sure that Dahlia was well monitored to ensure that she wouldn’t be a threat to their queen like Rosela was.
