The Crown's Seduction-Chapter 447: Love Mark
Chapter 447: Love Mark
Krisha’s wedding ceremony went relatively smoothly, and the newlywed couple promptly disappeared as soon as the ceremony was finished, leaving all the guests in the care of the Stewart Family. The festivities continued, and the celebration itself looked to be a great success.
Meanwhile, Dani, Krisha, and Niran all gathered at one respective table to talk among themselves. Dani and Krisha, especially, were both glad that they could finally interact like old times now that Prince Raul, Niran’s husband, already knew the truth about his new wife.
"It’s still sad that Laura isn’t around," Zaila snorted. "We could’ve been a complete group by now."
"Well, that’s true, but it can’t be helped since her exam is nearing," Dani commented as she drank the wine Niran poured for her. "It’s a crucial time for Laura and she has to pass that exam with flying colors no matter what."
Staring at her friend, Dani frowned when Zaila kept staring at her neck while whispering something to Niran. The two both then giggled to themselves, telling her that whatever it was they were talking about, it was probably about her.
"What is this?" Dani confronted them with furrowed brows. "Are you two talking about me out in the open like this?"
Niran nodded while still giggling. "You’re not aware, are you?"
Dani raised a brow. "Aware about what?"
"You have a visible mark on your neck, woman..." Zaila pointed out with a teasing grin before giggling some more with Niran. "You have a creative love mark!"
Dani’s eyes widened at the thought. She knew what a love mark was, and her face quickly paled as she recalled how Abel had suckled on her neck not too long ago. Was it enough to put a hickey on her neck? She never even thought she would have one from that. Then again, her mind had been muddled from all the sensations he was giving her back when they were both inside the carriage.
"Do something!" Dani harshly whispered to Zaila with wide eyes.
"Why should I? Everyone already saw it, and none dared to point it out except us," Zaila shrugged. "And besides, the Chancellor most likely put that there for a reason, and I didn’t want to be on his bad side by removing his masterpiece on your neck."
"It’s fine, Dani." Niran seconded with a wink.
Dani inwardly cursed as her eyes searched for Abel, quickly noting how he was currently staring at her. As usual, he gave her a roguish smile and a wink, and her face quickly reddened from those actions alone. And as if her embarrassment at that moment still wasn’t enough, Zaila added even more fuel to the fire as she began teasing her.
"Enough about your hickey, Dani. It’s not like it’s forbidden to give that to people," Zaila insisted with a teaching chuckle. "You and Chancellor Abel are getting married tomorrow anyway. You’ll probably end up having more love marks on every part of your body by the end of tomorrow." She then turned to Niran and said, "Right? I can only imagine what’s going to happen in their bedroom."
This time around, it was Niran who blushed hard at the image their friend gave them. Dani couldn’t help but imagine such a thing as well, but she at least had enough control over herself to want to change the topic as soon as she could.
"Is that so? How are you and Prince Raul then?" Dani quickly asked Niran, doing her best to change the topic away from her. "Are you two good now?"
Niran smiled timidly as she nodded. "We’re doing good now. I believe we just passed the first hump in our relationship, and I just hope things will continue moving forward that way," she hopefully replied. "Thankfully, Zaila’s sessions are helping him a lot with all the trauma he experienced with her mother and his mother’s family."
"That’s good to hear," Dani hummed with a smile, having finally managed to stop herself from blushing. But while she already managed to keep herself from melting in embarrassment, she would absolutely confront Abel about the mark he made later once she got to him again.
"It wouldn’t be easy though, I’m sure. It’s a very meticulous journey, you two will have," Zaila pointed out with a knowing nod. "Raul had developed this mental illness causing him unusual shifts in his mood, energy, activity levels, and concentration. Still, he’s showing positive progress, and him being inspired and in love are actually helping him a lot."
From the sidelines, Dani watched as Zaila and Niran talked to each other. She was happy for her friend Niran with how well everything was going for her, especially in her love life. In fact, she was sure that no words were needed to tell what was going to happen with how obvious Prince Raul’s eyes and actions were in showing how much in love he was with his new wife.
In contrast, Dani turned to look at Abel. Currently, he was engaged in a serious conversation with King Nikolai, but his gaze then suddenly turned towards her, and he quickly winked at her the moment he caught her staring at him. As usual, Dani’s face blushed hard at the gesture. She already lost count of how many times she had blushed because of Abel, and there was no telling how many more he’d do that to her moving forward.
She cursed herself as she quickly looked away. There was no telling what else he would do if she kept staring at him.
"Oh, the live music’s playing," Zaila suddenly noted aloud. "Too bad the piece is a slow one though."
"Dani."
She flinched as Abel’s deep voice magically came from behind her. Turning to face him, she felt like she was melting with how his smile and his mischievous lips and eyes were all coming together to keep her on her toes.
"Can I have the honor for this dance?" Abel courteously asked.
Blinking, Dani did her best not to say no. Not trusting her lips, she instead nodded at him and gave him her hand.
