Chapter 470: Fertility

Since the day Abel confessed to Dani on her fake deathbed, a lot had unfolded, leaving Dani struggling to process it all. She couldn’t shake off the memory of Abel’s promise, and he consistently made her feel cherished every moment they spent together. Despite their hectic schedules, he prioritized her, ensuring they carved out time together, including the promised date they had planned.

And sure enough, it was the best day of her life so far.

It wasn’t much, of course, what with their busy schedules back when it happened. Still, it was the most memorable day she had with him so far, being on par with the first time they made love and their respective wedding ceremonies. Truly, that night might’ve been brief, but it was the most fiery their relationship had ever been throughout their shared history.

As always, life went on, and they made sure to make love whenever they had the time, no matter how brief or long they had it. But then, the day finally arrived when almost all of their current problems seemingly evaporated overnight.

Somehow, the king wasn’t actually dead, and things just went better from there on out as Minister Amed was revealed to be one of the perpetrators surrounding the plague. Of course, he was executed like Haman before him, and the plague that constantly kept her up at night went away with him. And as if nothing had even happened, all was well in the kingdom once more... That was unless she counted her current problem as insignificant.

"Why am I always getting this thing when I don’t want it anymore..."

Dani let out her frustrations at her own body as she felt her monthly period come up to her again. It had been a while since things cooled down and both she and Abel were able to spend more than enough time together just making love. They even made sure to do it every day since they were actively trying to have a kid now. But for some reason, his seed just refused to take hold of her.

"What in the world am I supposed to do with this..." she grumbled to herself. "Do I have to do a blood sacrifice or something just to get pregnant?"

With a sigh, Dani shook her head before getting ready for the rest of the day. At the moment, Abel was busy with his own duties while she was relatively free for the day. It was why she was currently alone in their shared room at the moment, lamenting her own body’s inability to seemingly become with child.

"Maybe I should ask for some advice for this," she told herself as she casually prepared to put on one of her many normal dresses. "This is going to be embarrassing though..."

Well, said topic was only embarrassing if she let it get to her. Then again, she didn’t see herself getting embarrassed if she asked an impartial healer about this stuff. But since the best healer she knew was both her friend and a notorious gossip, Dani couldn’t help her own apprehension at sharing her current troubles with them.

Then again... Zaila somehow always knew what to do when it came to this stuff. Perhaps it was for the best that she just sucked up her own feelings about sharing her current troubles with her friends.

With her mind made up, Dani made her way to where she knew Zaila would be hanging out at that moment in time. Making her way to the garden, she saw her friend casually sharing a bit of tea with Krisha. It wasn’t something she was expecting, but she at least knew that Krisha was one of her more level-headed friends in their group. Hopefully, that would help with limiting more of Zaila’s teasing. freeωebnovēl.c૦m

"Oh, Dani," Zaila immediately noticed her with a smile. "What brings you here?"

"Here to join us for tea, maybe?" Krisha gently smiled at her.

Despite herself, Dani rubbed the back of her neck as she replied, "Not really. I’m here for advice."

Immediately, Zaila perked up with a smug smirk on her face. "Oh? What kind of advice?"

Dani was about to quickly reply when she felt her words get stuck on her throat. Shaking her head, she took in a deep breath before letting herself sit down on one of the empty chairs on the table. There was no point being shy about this. This was important to her, and she refused to back down now.

"The babymaking kind," she directly replied with a straight face. "I’ve been trying to get pregnant with Abel, and it still hasn’t happened despite us doing it every day."

To her horror, Zaila’s face lit up into a mischievous smile. But before the teasing could be unleashed, Krisha gently tapped her arm, making Dani feel grateful for her friend’s presence.

"Right..." Zaila coughed as she did her best to remain composed. "Obviously, you’ve been getting a lot of loving from Lord Abel, so that’s not the problem. Perhaps it’s a matter on your end?"

"I don’t feel any different," Dani admitted. "I’m still as healthy as I was before."

"I agree. I don’t think it’s a matter of our friend just not being fertile," Krisha quickly added. "Still, have you tried taking fertility medicine?"

"What do you think?" Dani deadpanned. "I’ve been drinking moon tea almost everyday now. And I always feel so hot and bothered because of it that Abel’s honestly impressed with my endurance now."

"So that’s not the problem then," Zaila hummed in deep thought.

A terse silence soon followed, and Dani was almost fearful of what she would hear from her friends next. She already did her own research. The worst they could tell her was to do the things she already did.

"How about different positions?" Zaila suddenly asked.

Dani blinked. "Positions?"

"Oh, I’ve heard about that," Krisha seconded. "The position of our bodies can affect fertility and all that."

Immediately, Dani’s eyes lit up bright. "Tell me more."
