The Crown's Seduction-Chapter 473: Residence of Prince Raul
Chapter 473: Residence of Prince Raul
It had been weeks since Niran first set foot in Valcrez. She had volunteered for this mission because Princess Mineah was about to marry the Vampire King of Valcrez—a man they knew little about, aside from his title.
Niran wanted to ensure that Princess Mineah was well-prepared with enough knowledge about the kingdom and its royal family so she could navigate her new role as future Queen with confidence.
Not everything was in the textbooks, so Niran and Laura decided to arrive in Valcrez ahead of time to gather crucial intelligence. Their mission was to uncover vital information that could benefit their Princess, Mineah, and provide her with a strategic advantage.
The two were separated based on their areas of expertise. Niran was tasked with spying on the royal family, while Laura focused on the high-ranking officials of the inner court. By working in parallel, they aimed to compile a comprehensive report that would aid Princess Mineah in navigating her new role as the future Queen of Valcrez.
Today, Niran managed to gain entry into the royal palace and was specifically assigned to the residence of Prince Raul.
"Just make sure you don’t make any mistakes inside. Prince Raul... he’s a man with a temper, and I can no longer help you out once you’re under his wing," Corazon reminded her.
Corazon was an older woman responsible for assigning servants to the royal family. Niran had gained her trust by saving her during an attack from a thief. It had taken a week of effort, but she finally earned the old woman’s trust.
Corazon stopped walking just before they reached the grand gates of the royal estate. She grabbed Niran’s hand and said, "Goodness, are you sure about this? Can’t you ask me for a different favor for saving my life?!"
Niran gave her a reassuring smile. "I’m good, Corazon. I want to enter the palace."
"How about we wait until there’s an opening in the King’s residence instead? Prince Raul really has a temper, and honestly, no servant close to him lasts long," Corazon suggested.
"But they’re all still alive and not hurt, right?" Niran pointed out.
"Right, but they’re all scared of the Prince," Corazon reminded her.
"I’m sure I’ll manage. Who knows, the Prince might take a fancy to me," she said with a grin.
Corazon’s eyes widened. "Is that what you’re aiming for? Well, he might take a fancy to you for sure, since you’re a beautiful woman. But what he will truly fancy is the fact that you’re a luscious meal as well..."
Niran chuckled. Corazon was human, old enough to be her grandmother, and she liked her straightforwardness and kind treatment.
"Anyway, you don’t have to worry about me, Corazon. This is what I want. You know I’m an orphan without a title, and I’ve grown up just roaming from place to place. Being inside the palace and serving the royal family is already a great honor for me. I’m really grateful that you’re helping me like this. I will make sure that I won’t be a disappointment for your recommendation," she stated with a wink.
Corazon simply released a deep, frustrated sigh as she said, "Fine, let’s now go inside."
Niran quickly followed, and they headed directly to Prince Raul’s residence. Corazon had already briefed her enough to know that Prince Raul was the eldest son of the late King Arturo. He was his first son from one of his mistresses, and according to Corazon, Raul’s mother, Thea, was a human but had the worst attitude among King Arturo’s women. She had heard many bad things about her, leading to her eventual exile.
An older vampire approached them at the entrance of the residence.
"Lady Corazon, thank you for the recommendation," he told Corazon with a curt nod. He then turned to Niran and said with a smile, "I am Butler Moller, and I will teach you everything you need to know to last in this residence."
"Butler Moller, I will go ahead now. Please send me a word as soon as Niran is ready to be fetched," Corazon scoffed. Butler Moller chuckled and said, "You and your humor, Corazon. Let’s hope Lady Niran here will last longer than others from his temper."
Niran gulped, wondering how bad her situation could be under Prince Raul’s wing. Her main goal was to seduce at least one of the princes in the royal court, earning her a better position so she could be more effective as Princess Mineah’s spy. None of her peers knew of her plan since it was her personal choice.
What they knew was that she would simply spy and provide important details regarding the royal family. But Niran had a different thought. She strongly believed that being involved in the royal family, especially those against King Nikolai, was a more practical approach if she wanted to be a more meaningful subject and a big help to Princess Mineah in the future.
"Stop worrying," she whispered to Corazon before they bid farewell to each other. Butler Moller didn’t waste any time and started briefing her while walking her to her assigned bedchamber.
"Here, this is the Prince’s routine, so make sure that you’re always present for the tasks he requires. He prefers only one person serving him and hates being in the company of many servants. As you can see, there are only a few servants around because he hates being with too many faces..." Butler Moller explained.
"But why?" Niran curiously asked.
Mr. Moller stopped walking and opened a door. "This will be your bedchamber, Lady Niran. Don’t ask too many questions in front of Prince Raul because he hates it. If he’s mad, just bow your head and don’t dare raise it. Don’t speak, and quietly leave when he dismisses you," Mr. Moller advised.
The butler obviously dodged her question, but that was understandable since she was new. In time, she would find everything she needed to know on her own.
He gestured for her to get inside as he said, "Rest for a bit and be ready before dinner to serve him. Everything you need to know is in that journal. Return it to me once you’re done studying and memorizing everything in it."
"Thank you, Milord," Niran commented with a curt bow before closing her door.
’I’m finally inside the walls of the royal estate,’ she excitedly mused. She immediately went to her table to write a report for Princess Mineah at Ebodia.
