Chapter 394: Chapter 394- Do You Mind Telling Us What You’re Planning?

In the manor, Sol was standing while reading over the messages once again with a solemn expression on his face.

The first message went as such...

"Disciples of the Martial Alliance Academy, from this moment on the structure of the Academy will forever change. There will now be first-year disciples up to fifth-year disciples in the Lower Academy. Those who can’t enter the Spiritual Realm before the age of fifteen will be directly kicked out or be demoted to a Worker Disciple. The only exception to this rule is if a disciple displays outstanding talents and becomes a Third-rate Martial Artist. Once a disciple reaches the Heaven Expanse Realm, they can directly enter the Inner Academy and become an official Elder. Disciples of the Martial Alliance Academy, this is a Holy Land of cultivation where only the most talented and hardworking geniuses are accommodated, if you are lacking then you are not suited to enter!"

The first message was quite shocking but at the same time, it wasn’t that excessive. However, one would only think that by itself. When the second message was added one would realize the implications of such a structure change.

"Disciples of the Martial Alliance Academy, in one month’s time the Two Continents Tournament will be held. The first section will be hosted within the Land of Shadows Shadow Dimension where all the disciples of the Academy will compete against each other. The top hundred disciples who pass this stage will be rewarded as well be qualified to participate in the true Tournament. All disciples make your final preparations, show those of the Western Continent our overwhelming might. Losing is out of the question!"

This so-called first section of the Two Continents Tournament was what sent the disciples into a panic.

The first message essentially claimed that disciples in the Mortal Realm and disciples in the Spiritual Realm would no longer be divided by their cultivation realms. If that was the case, what did it mean in the second message when it said that all disciples would participate in the first stage together?

Did the Academy want Mortal Realm disciples to fight against Spiritual Realm disciples? That was completely crazy!

However, that was only 1/3 of the reason for the disciples’ panic. The other was that the Shadow Dimension in the Land of Shadows was also known as the Land of the Dead.

And lastly, it was explained that they would be fighting against each other for a chance to enter the top one hundred spots.

If one looked at the rewards for the top one hundred spots in this first stage, one would be left speechless. Even for the one-hundredth position, there were monetary rewards and cultivation resources that would even make a Spiritual Realm cultivator’s eyes turn green.

With such an opportunity on the line, it sent chills down the disciples’ spines when they thought of how bloody this first stage was going to be. Who would hesitate to kill when such an opportunity was on the line.

However, the benefits of participating in this first stage weren’t only that, there were rumors that the Shadow Dimension contained an Immortal Inheritance, and some other smaller Inheritances!

While there were some disciples who were panicking as this message was phrased in such a way that demanded every disciple to participate, there were some disciples who gripped their jade slips while having their eyes blaze with determination.

These disciples were the ones who didn’t come from any noteworthy backgrounds, they had entered the Academy after going through endless struggles and overcoming numerous obstacles.

While the disciples from influential backgrounds tried to flee for their lives, they were clenching their fists and gritting their teeth as they saw this as a massive opportunity!

As Sol slowly read over the contents of the second message, he moved on to the rewards for the first stage of the tournament.

He wasn’t lacking in cultivation resources, so he wasn’t as excited about the first stage rewards. The second stage of the tournament rewards, however, were slightly enticing.

Those who finished in the top ten will receive a flying treasure of the Divine Grade and a Quasi-Heaven Grade Martial Arts Technique.

Though, what truly enticed Sol were the prizes for the top three spots.

Along with a flying Divine Artifact, they’ll receive a full Heaven Grade Martial Arts Technique.

Of course, there were other treasures and cultivation resources such as a few million Aether Stones, or Mana Stones and Holy Coins for those on the Western Continent, but Sol only paid minimal attention to them.

There was also the opportunity to take on the Sect Leader of the Shaolin Sect and the two similar existences on the Western Continent as a Master, but Sol directly ignored that.

Aside from the Heaven Grade Martial Arts Technique, there was something else that piqued Sol’s interest. It was one of the treasures the top three winners would receive, it was an item called Soul Mending Pearl.

Sol’s eyes couldn’t help but flicker in thought.

"Just what are the idiots up above thinking making the first stage like this? How many disciples will die in this stage?"

Mar-Dule suddenly said.

With a serious expression, Yoon-Jae responded.

"Isn’t it obvious what their intentions are? They’re trying to baptize the disciples in blood and weed out the weaklings."

"But isn’t this too fast? Wouldn’t there be backlash from the Sects and Clans?"

Byeong-Ho said with a frown, but Yoon-Jae suddenly laughed and said.

"Who do you think pushed for this outcome? It was none other than the Six Holy Sects and Five Great Clans. After all, their influence in the Academy isn’t shallow."

"And the Shaolin Sect agreed to them?"

Mar-Dule asked, but Yoon-Jae countered.

"They’re in on it too, after all, this concerns the future strength of the Continent in the face of a great enemy."

Sol’s eyes flickered when he heard that, and he softly said.

"Father-in-law had said that after he met with those from the Western Continent, both groups had come out of the interaction with thoughts of how to restructure their foundations to increase their strengths. And what those in Jianghu might lack is battle experience."

"Exactly!"—Yoon-Jae yelled before continuing—"These disciples from influential backgrounds have grown up while being completely shielded from any sort of harm, they’ve never suffered before so they’ve become complacent. And worse of all they’ve become arrogant to the extreme."

"During my time in the Academy, I thought the same. If it was on our Western Continent, having such a mindset and bearing could get you killed."

"Even in your Church?"

Mar-Dule looked at Cian with a skeptical expression.

Cian smiled bitterly as he said.

"This is a misconception you guys might have about the Western Continent; it doesn’t have luscious forests for miles on end or pure energy like your Eastern Continent. It’s a wasteland that has crack soil and black barren lands that contain vicious Mana Beasts. It also has corrupt energy that will turn you into a mutant monster if you’re exposed to it for too long without protection. Except for the Paradise Islands that my Church and the Royal Families control, it’s basically uninhabitable."

Everyone fell silent when they heard that, but Yoon-Jae soon sneered and said.

"The Six Holy Sects and Five Great Clans might have made the decision to train the disciples in the Shadow Dimension, however, who do you think made the suggestion for the first stage to be held there in the first place?"

Sol’s eyes flickered, and he along with Byeong-Ho, Mar-Dule, and Ushi turned to look at Cian.

Upon hearing Yoon-Jae’s words, Cian’s brows furrowed.

"Brother Yoon-Jae, is this what you wanted to tell me?"

Sol asked and Yoon-Jae nodded.

"This bastard knew that the Tournament was being held in his Land of Shadows and even of the Academy’s plans."

Hearing this Ushi immediately whined in complaint.

"Eldest Brother Yoon-Jae, I really, truly, did not do it on purpose. I merely forgot to mention it sooner, however, didn’t I tell you in the end? I should at least get points added."

Yoon-Jae turned to glare at him.

"Ten points added for telling me, and nine points deducted for doing so too late."

Ushi’s shoulders couldn’t help but slump when he heard that.

Afterward, Yoon-Jae turned to Cian and asked.

"Your Church really wanted this Tournament to happen within the Shadow Dimension for some reason, do you mind telling us what you’re planning?"
