The Growth of a Titan-Chapter 393- Shocking And Sudden News
Chapter 393: Chapter 393- Shocking And Sudden News
Inside the manor, everyone was waiting around for Mar-Dule to arrive before discussing anything.
Sol was back in his seat. He had offered Yoon-Jea and the others a different brew of tea, but Yoon-Jae shot him down and instead dipped into his wine collection.
While handing out wine gourds to Byeong-ho and Sol, Yoon-Jae didn’t so much as glance at either Ushi or Cian. However, neither of the two seemed particularly upset.
Cian had long closed his eyes in meditation to try and absorb a portion of the Divine Medicine Sol had given him. Everyone could feel faint fluctuations of energy wafting from him.
Meanwhile, Ushi, who was standing behind a seated Yoon-Jae off to the left, was staring at Cian as they had unfinished business. If it wasn’t for the current situation, he might have taken action against him already.
As for Byeong-Ho, he was leaning against the manor wall to the right while occasionally sipping on his wine. He didn’t particularly indulge in things like this normally, but he felt he needed a way to calm his emotions.
He had gotten some piece of news earlier in the day when he was training which made him quite annoyed. After he exited training some time ago, he heard that Sol had returned so he hurried over.
It didn’t take more than a minute or two of them waiting before a tall and lean figure suddenly leaped over the wall where Byeong-Ho was.
"I’m here, but what’s so important that you couldn’t wait until morning?"
Mar-Dule said with a yawn as he landed next to Byeong-Ho. He shot Yoon-Jae a glare, as he was annoyed that he was called away from his warm bed.
Byeong-Ho, who was about to sip his wine, paused when his nose suddenly twitched. He glanced at Mar-Dule as he smelt a faint fragrance from him that was reminiscent of a woman’s perfume.
As if he had stumbled upon something he shouldn’t have, Byeong-Ho immediately looked away from Mar-Dule and acted like he didn’t smell anything.
However, Mar-Dule’s nose also twitched.
His head suddenly swerved to stare at Byeong-Ho, or more specifically, the wine gourd in his hand.
Seeing this, Byeong-Ho paused drinking once again before handing him the bottle gourd.
"Good Brother!"
Mar-Dule didn’t stand on ceremony and immediately snatched the gourd out of Byeong-Ho’s hand and down a mouthful.
When Byeong-Ho saw this, he immediately regretted his actions as he realized he wasn’t getting back his wine.
As if to compensate Byeong-Ho, Mar-Dule took out a dakkochi and tried giving it to him, but Byeong-Ho politely refused.
Mar-Dule hesitated but then said.
"I’ll treat you to some wine later."
Mar-Dule took his food and wine seriously, so he made this promise.
Afterward, he walked over and spotted an unfamiliar figure.
Looking towards Cian, he frowned and said.
"What is this bastard doing here?"
Cian opened his eyes at this time. Smiling, he said.
"I think this is where I take my leave. Brother Sol, thank you once again for your help."
Sol nodded and Cian got up to leave, however, Yoon-Jae’s voice suddenly stopped him.
"Stay, what Ushi has to say concerns your Church."
Cian paused before he nodded and sat back down.
Yoon-Jae then turned to glare at Ushi behind him and said.
"Hurry and tell them what you told me."
Ushi looked away from Cian and a dejected expression appeared on his face as he opened his mouth about to speak, however, before he could, a message came into his identity jade slip interrupting him.
Similarly, messages came to Sol and the others.
Feeling that something was wrong, without saying a word, they all pulled out their disciple tokens and looked at the messages. As they read them, one after another their faces changed.
Ushi and Yoon-Jae’s expressions weren’t so bad, but Byeong-Ho, Mar-Dule, and Sol showed stunned expressions. They were extremely startled as well as confused.
Sol shot up from his seat and Mar-Dule couldn’t help but blurt out.
"What the fuck?! Have those old farts gone senile?!"
The only one that didn’t show much reaction was Cian, he was silent as he read the messages.
However, their reactions could be said to be tamed compared to how the disciples in the Academy reacted when they got the messages as well.
The silence of the night was completely broken as angry howls could be heard echoing across the entire academy, all of which were coming from the first-year, second-year, and third-year disciples. They were crying out, demanding answers from the higher-ups of the Academy.
The news was just too shocking and too sudden, it caught everyone completely off guard.
However, within these disciples’ angry shouts, one could sense intense fear and reluctance. They simply refuse to accept this.
The disciples from influential backgrounds started contacting their families, but they suddenly realized that their communication jade slips weren’t working.
A cold chill went down their spines and the fear in their hearts intensified.
All of a sudden, numerous disciples could be seen rushing towards the Teleportation Halls to leave the Academy. However, when they tried using their disciple tokens slips to try and activate the teleportation platforms it didn’t work.
Some disciples were so desperate to leave that they took out flying treasures, hopped on, and then soared across the sky to directly leave the Academy.
But it was simply useless, a Grand Formation surrounded each mountain in the Academy and now they prevented these disciples from leaving their Pavilion Mountains.
"You can’t do this! My grandfather is the Sect Leader of the Spring Lake Sect! He’ll definitely demand an answer for forcing me to participate in this absurd Tournament!!"
"Do you know who I am?! I’m the heir to the Dulong Clan!! You’ll have to answer to my Clan if you try to force me to participate!!"
"How can the Academy do something so ridiculous?! Has the upper echelons gone completely mad?!!"
"Aren’t we Alchemy Disciples?! How can we participate in a tournament like this?! You might as well be sending us to our deaths!!"
More desperate howls like these continuously echoed out from the trapped disciples.
They were so loud that Sol and the others could faintly hear them despite the manor being some distance away from the main buildings. But this was just on the Alchemy Pavilion Mountain, one could only imagine the uproar on the other mountains.
