Chapter 444: Chapter 444- Leaving For The Land Of Shadows

Mar-Yue, nodded with a satisfied expression on her face.

Afterward, she turned to look at Cheong-san.

She wondered why he was using his Soul Energy to speak, but after a bit of observation, she understood the situation and tactfully decided not to ask.

She then turned her attention to Byeong-ho.

The two stared at each other for a brief moment as if they were sizing up each other. ƒгeewёbnovel.com

However, after a while, Byeong-ho forced a smile before pushing off the wall and cupping his fist towards Mar-Yue and yelling.

"Greetings Big Sister Mar-Yue!"

Cheong-su and Cheong-san couldn’t help but stare at their youngest brother with dumbfounded expressions. Woo-seong was slightly taken aback as well.

However, Mar-Yue only nodded and treated it as if it were natural. She then sized up Byeong-ho once again before saying.

"So, you’re that Byeong-ho I’ve been hearing about for so long, I guess the rumors about you aren’t exaggerations. Beating you in a spar wouldn’t be as easy as I thought."

"Our feelings are mutual."

Byeong-ho’s response caused Cheong-su and Cheong-san to display shocked expressions. They knew how strong their youngest brother was so they couldn’t help but be shaken after hearing his words.

Meanwhile, Woo-seong wasn’t as shocked, rather he had a thoughtful expression on his face. He was thinking back to when Mar-Yue had killed that Heaven Expanse Realm cultivator in the Jeagal Clan.

Amid this exchange Sol was only smiling from ear to ear.

Suddenly, a voice sounded some distance away.

"Looks like we’re late for the gathering."

Everyone turned to see that the speaker was Yoon-jae. Attached to his right hip was Ushi and to his left was Mar-Dule.

"No, you guys are right on time."

Sol said before he took the initiative to introduce Cheong-su, Cheong-san, Mar-Yue, and Woo-seong to Ushi.

After Cheong-su and Cheong-san greeted Ushi, the three of them couldn’t help but glance at Mar-Yue and Mar-Dule noting the resemblance.

"Now that everyone’s here, let’s head out together."

As natural as flowing water, Sol became the designated head of this group.

"The second ship is about to head out so we can catch it before it leaves. If we were to board the last ship who knows when it’ll leave."

Yoon-jae said and everyone agreed before leaving.

However, Sol suddenly thought of something, and he asked in confusion.

"Now that I think about it, why don’t we just teleport to the Land of Shadows?"

Ushi was the one to speak up.

"Well, the reason is similar to why there is no teleportation array from Jianghu to the Eternal Desert. The environment is unique, and it disrupts teleportations. For the Eternal Desert, it’s because of the unbalanced elements, and for my Land of Shadows, it’s due to the Void Winds. The Void Winds are winds that blow through the void from the Sea. They disrupt the chaotic space in the void so much so teleportation would result in instant death."

Sol was slightly surprised upon hearing that; he knew the winds in the Land of Shadows were intense, but he never thought they were this much of a problem.

"Wait, since we’re flying there then that would take a few days, right? So, the starting date of the Tournament is actually not until a few days from now?"

Yoon-jae looked at Sol as they walked and said.

"I always forget that you’re new to all of this. Sol, the distance between Jianghu and the Eternal Desert isn’t the same as the distance between Jianghu and the Land of Shadows. While it can take a few days of travel via a Spirit Treasure to reach the Eternal Desert from Jianghu, it would take close to a month for us to reach the Land of Shadows even with a Divine Grade Flying treasure."

"What?! That long?!"

Sol was shocked.

Mar-Dule spoke up right after Yoon-jae.

"It’s natural since we even have to pass through many territories of Spirit Beasts, some of them are even at the very peak of the Spiritual Realm."

"Thankfully there are no Spirit Beasts in the Heavenly Realm, or else we would have a hard time going to my home."

Ushi added.

While the group headed for the second carrier that was traveling to the Land of Shadows, Sol and Cheong-san asked Ushi about what that side of the Continent was like.

Sol himself had read books about the Land of shadows but it was different from hearing it from a native like Ushi.

....

...

..

On the deck of the large flying ship that was parked outside of the city, Sol looked down at the simple room token he had received from an Elder upon boarding the ship.

Turns out this flying ship was quite different from the one he rode on when he left for the Hundred Plants and Herbs dimension.

This flying ship actually had thousands of rooms to accommodate disciples. Since this journey was going to take a month’s worth of time, this was quite convenient.

In addition, each room had an Aether Gathering Array that could allow disciples to do some extremely last-minute cultivation sessions.

"Since we come from different Pavilions, we have separate rooms."

Mar-Dule said as he looked up from the room token in his hand.

"We aren’t going to split up are we? We just got together after so long, why don’t we visit my room? I actually have something to give all of you."

Sol just had a slightly emotional goodbye with Mar-Yue, so he didn’t want to be alone right now.

It was unfortunate that the Academy was only allowing disciples to board the flying ship. They weren’t even accepting payment from outside forces, other than youths from the Holy Sects and Great Clans.

Mar-Dule eyes suddenly narrowed as he thought of something.

"That’s a good idea. Sol, I’ve actually wanted to tell you something, it’s about your recent conflict with the Jeagal Clan."

Ushi perked up at that while Yoon-jea turned to glance at Sol.

Sol patted Yoon-jae’s back reassuringly and said with a grin.

"I’m fine, I came out with a few good things."

Hearing that Yoon-jae wasn’t as worried. He said.

"Then let’s go, this isn’t the place to be discussing these things."

With that, the group of eight headed for Sol’s room that was below the deck.
