The Growth of a Titan-Chapter 482- The Start Of The Long-awaited Two Continents Tournament
Chapter 482: Chapter 482- The Start Of The Long-awaited Two Continents Tournament
Sol patted the empty space to his left.
Yuji was unsure how they would test their comprehensions, but he didn’t hesitate to walk over and sit down cross-legged.
Sol turned his back to Hua-yin and faced Yuji, his legs folding beneath him as he did.
Upon seeing this, Yoon-jae and the others didn’t bother restarting their game and fully focused on Sol and Yuji.
Before Yuji could ask how they were going to test each other’s comprehension, Sol raised his right index finger. On this index finger, a golden aura flickered to life and covered it.
"You’ve mastered Fist Intent?"
Yuji said as he looked at Sol’s index finger, a slight surprise could be heard in his voice.
Sol nodded and took a swig from the small wine gourd before saying.
"I was creating a Martial Skill when I happened to master it during my seclusion."
Even though Sol’s words sounded casual, Yuji could tell from the aura emanating from Sol’s finger that his understanding wasn’t shallow. It might even be on par with his own understanding of Sword Intent. Though Sol’s claim of creating a Martial Skill didn’t go unheard by Yuji, or the others.
However, more important for Yuji was that Sol was casually drinking wine while having his index finger extended. He couldn’t help but feel that Sol gave off the same casualness as a certain someone... Byeong-ho.
"They’re the same.’
The casualness of Sol and Byeong-ho’s demeanor while competing with him didn’t come from arrogance or them looking down on him, but rather it came from their infinite belief that they were simply stronger than him. No, even further than that they had this ineffable sense that they were invincible. But at the same time, you won’t catch them underestimating their opponents despite their extreme thoughts.
This irked Yuji even more as he was sure that Sol wouldn’t be like this if Byeong-ho was the one across from him.
Yuji’s fists suddenly clenched tightly.
’I’ll show you that my months of seclusion was not in vain. I can accept Byeong-ho’s talent being greater than mine, but how can there be a second person like him in this generation? That is just absurd!’
Yuji’s face then showed a serious expression as he raised his left index finger. A sharp feeling quickly began emanating from it as faint blue Sword Intent formed around it.
The two youths who sat across from each other, one nonchalant and the other completely focused, reached forward and allowed their fingers to draw closer to each other, almost touching.
Almost immediately, the two Intents started clashing in the space between their fingers.
Despite the two youths not utilizing their Intents’ true prowess, this small clash still caused slight fluctuations to appear around them. Where their fingers almost meet even start to twist and distort a bit.
Slowly, the two push their fingers closer to each other causing the space between them to decrease. While this happened, the two Intents were like water and fire as they constantly clashed with each other.
Yuji could feel Sol’s sliver of Fist Intent trying to crush his Sword Intent along with his finger, while Sol felt Yuji’s Sword Intent trying to pierce his Fist Intent and his finger.
As this was only a small test of comprehension using a portion of their Intents, there was no delay in the results. When Sol and Yuji’s fingers eventually met, a small pop echoed out and the Intents around their finger canceled out each other. The distortions and fluctuations quickly faded away.
Sol wiggled his finger as some of Yuji’s Sword Intent entered the tip of his finger. However, his physique was robust, so it only felt like a small prick from a needle.
Yuji on the other hand was silently staring at his finger. It was completely fine; however, his face soon showed a complicated expression. You could say he won the battle but lost the war.
His Sword Intent was able to overpower Sol’s Fist Intent, but in terms of comprehension Sol had defeated him, and it wasn’t close. However, even his slight win—if one could call it that— wasn’t worth celebrating since he realized something during this small clash with Sol.
Looking up at Sol, Yuji asked confused.
"Why are you sealing your cultivation base? I wouldn’t have overpowered your Fist Intent if you hadn’t."
Sol lowered the wine gourd from his lips and said.
"It’s complicated, you could say I’m doing it for training."
Because Sol had the three seals on his Mortal Palace to prevent the aura of his crescent moon from leaking out, it made it hard for him to circulate his Internal Aether Energy as well as utilize the full extent of his Fist Intent. Not being able to circulate his Aether Energy fully resulted in him giving off the impression that he was only in the Mortal Realm if one didn’t scrutinize him closely, and while not being able to utilize the full extent of his Fist Intent didn’t diminish his comprehension, it did decrease its strength while he used it.
Upon receiving Sol’s response, Yuji sighed and got up. His shoulders were slumped, and a dejected expression formed on his face.
In no way this was him giving up on defeating Sol and getting his hands on that sword, but if Yuji said this small clash didn’t deal a blow to his confidence going into that future battle, then he would be lying.
"Are you not going to stay? I brew some wine, why not stay and drink some with us if you’re interested."
Sol said as he shook his small wine gourd.
Yuji paused, but soon shrugged and said.
"Why not."
Smiling, Sol jumped up.
"Why don’t we head back to Ushi’s mansion? We can also have some discussions about your Namgung Clan’s Martial Arts there as well."
"That’s-"
Yuji was taken aback upon hearing Sol’s last words, but he was grabbed by him and pulled into the air before he protested.
"Haha, don’t worry, my wine is worth the exchange of those techniques! Even if it’s just some basic stuff, tell me everything."
Yuji upon hearing Sol’s claim, highly doubted him, but Sol just continued to chatter nonstop for him to get a word of rejection in.
As Sol dragged Yuji off while trying to extort him, Byeong-ho and the others also decided to head back to Ushi’s mansion. Their fun exploring the Land of Shadows was a short four days, but now they had to clear all distractions from their minds and realign their focus on why they truly came here.
Tomorrow was the start of a grand tournament that spanned two powerful Continents and had numerous renowned as well as obscure geniuses participating...
