Chapter 616: Who was it?

"Are we done talking, or do you want to hear more?" Nathaniel was the one to interrupt as he walked to the girl before holding her hand and pulling her in for a brotherly hug.

"Ssshh, don’t think about anything anymore. You know you can’t get angry, right? Getting angry only makes us lose energy, which we can readily use to hurt our enemies. You are not stupid enough to let those bad people win," Nathaniel said as he caressed Elliana’s head softly.

Ari, on the other hand, the most shocked from Elliana’s outburst, looked at King Eros with a contemplated look.

The only reason they were listening to all her talk was because she was their legal daughter, right? That could and should be the only reason.

Ari looked at Elliana with a pang of jealousy brewing in her heart, completely unaware of what the girl had to suffer her entire life to become this careless and fearless.

"I am fine. You don’t need to coax me like a baby," Elliana said, and Nathaniel chuckled at her words.

"How can I not? Don’t forget that I am the one who partially raised you in your initial years," Nathaniel’s words were said jokingly, but they were nothing less than a slap to the parents, who were teaching them how to talk to them.

At the end of the day, it was the brother and sister duo, who stood with each other as a ray of hope to light their worlds and survive all the hardships together.

"Let’s discuss business first. I called you all here for two things. First, to let you all know King Eros has one more kid to look after, and second, she seeks our help to free Arizona from Azrael’s trap," Elliana said, standing with her head leaned on Nathaniel’s biceps.

King Eros didn’t say anything. Since he was released from that maze recently and didn’t really know what kind of temperament his daughter had, and all the times they met, things always went haywire, he didn’t want to say anything to make her angrier than she already was.

However, the displeasure on Azura’s face was clear, and even a fool could see it.

"What do you have to say, Mom?" Elliana walked to her mother after her anger and irritation at the matter were finally released, and she held her hand.

Azura didn’t look at her daughter. She just looked at her feet, not wanting to say anything to trigger anyone in the room.

Elliana sighed.

"Look at me," Elliana said, and Azura lifted her gaze to look at her daughter, who was slightly taller than her.

"Why? Why should we help her release that monster of a sister of mine who only mixed poison in our lives? It was all her plans from the beginning. I agree that the ultimate master was Azrael, but it’s because she saw the weakness in Arizona, who was ready to do anything to get my husband," Azura said.

Elliana pressed her lips into a thin line.

"I understand you very well, Mom. All these feelings, I have been there before, but if we keep indulging in them, where will be the good in the world? How will-"

"I don’t want to be good. I am a dark witch queen, for god’s sake," Azura said, and Elliana suppressed the urge to smile at her mother, who was now acting like a child.

Seeing no other way to get her mother to agree, Elliana could only think of the last method. The guilt trip.

"Don’t forget that the sister you are hating on right now is the reason ultimately I am standing in front of you. She was the one that the siren queen came to and locked her powers inside me to keep me alive.

What happened after that might be her plans and everything, but don’t forget that it was her locket in my neck that kept me safe for eighteen long years. Or do you really think anyone who would’ve found out about the siren powers inside me wouldn’t have come for me? Have you forgotten about Gertrude?" Elliana asked, and Azura pressed her lips into a thin line before looking at Ari, who was looking at her hopefully.

What Elliana said made sense to her. Every word her daughter said was true, but do emotions really see logic?

"I am going to help her get back to Arizona. And I am not going to do it because I have suddenly grown some kind of sympathy for that woman, but because there are some questions that I need an answer to from her," Elliana said before she looked at her father.

It was time for him to speak. It was the time he would side with her and show that he would have her back.

Though Elliana was talking about freeing Arizona, was it really easy when she didn’t even have any idea where the heck that maze she created was?

"I will help my daughter," King Eros said, and Elliana was about to smile when they heard her mother speak.

"Are you helping her because Arizona is the mother of your illegal daughter?" Azura asked, and Eros sighed.

"Then, should I not help her?" He asked.

"Are you not going to help your own daughter? Didn’t you hear her? She needs answers," Azura said.

King Eros- "..."

Nathaniel - "..."

Elliana smiled at her mother, who after all the negative emotions, was finally able to look past all those things.

"Do you have any idea where Azrael’s maze can be?" Elliana asked no one in particular, but when no one said anything, she sighed.

"I will ask her directly," Elliana said, and Nathaniel was about to tell her that he would go with her when they heard her phone ringing.

Elliana pulled out the phone from her pocket, and seeing it was Glow’s number, she furrowed her brows.

Right. How could she forget? Weren’t they getting their marriage certificates today? Elliana smiled and picked up the call, ready to hear words like they had registered their marriage and were inviting her to an after-party, but what she heard was something completely different.

The sound of a metal hitting something before being dragged on the ground came from the other side, and her body went rigid, making the other members around her become stiff too.

They looked at her, ready for any kind of action with just one signal.

Elliana didn’t say anything for a few seconds.

She waited for the other person to speak first, biting into her own finger, letting the fresh drops of blood fall on the ground, surprising everyone with what she was doing.

Azura was the first to react.

Her daughter was performing the highest-level locator spell. But why was she doing it? She could’ve just asked her to do it rather than doing it herself.

Everyone knew she shouldn’t be using magic when she was healing to prevent her powers from becoming weaker.

"Ba-" Azura started, but Elliana raised her hand to stop her from speaking further.

Elliana shook her head at her mother.

She placed a finger on her lips to indicate to everyone not to make a single sound.

The vampires behind her clenched their teeth to control their senses and not react to their princess’s blood.

The sound became even more abrupt while Elliana sat on her toes to make a small circle with her blood to know the exact location of this person on the other side and Glow’s distance from this person.

As she had guessed, they were in the same area. She gulped and asked Nathaniel to hand over his phone to her.

She did everything as quietly as possible since she was unsure if the enemy on the other side was a witch or someone else.

Elliana gently opened the dialing pad and punched Sebastian’s number before returning the phone to Nathaniel.

She told her powers to communicate the message to Nathaniel to call Sebastian and ask him to immediately send a team to look for Marcello since he was nowhere near Glow, but what surprised and worried her even more was the fact that she wasn’t able to locate Marcello.

Just the possibility of what it could mean, made her tremble in her place.

If anything happened to him because of the fight that was only hers, she wouldn’t be able to forgive herself ever.

Elliana closed her eyes to calm her, trying to force her heart to focus on the matter at hand.

"Are you performing a locator spell right now, Princess Elliana?" She heard the voice from the other side.

To say she was surprised would be an understatement.

She had never expected to hear this voice out of all the people.

"What do you want? And since you know I am performing a locator spell, it’s not hard to guess you have a witch by your side. So what exactly do you need from me in exchange for Glow," Elliana asked.

The man on the other side smiled.

"Ah, quite the businesswoman you are, aren’t you, my dear Elliana?" Prince Angelo asked with a smirk while Elliana gritted her teeth.
