Chapter 622: Marcello was fine

"Hey," Elliana held Marcello’s hand as she sat in the chair beside his bed, making the man blink his eyes softly and look at her.

"You are finally awake. Do you really have to scare me like that? I already didn’t like you from the beginning for my Glow and now you are going to be like this? Do you want to be kicked?" Elliana asked.

Though she was joking, anyone could feel the genuine care for him in her voice, and the man smiled softly.

"I am sure you saved me because you didn’t have anyone to kick," Marcello whispered before he tried to look around to see where his woman was.

"She is not here. The doctor is running checkups on her to ensure everything is alright with her," Elliana explained, and the man sighed in relief before looking back at his savior, a teardrop rolling from the side of his eyes.

"T-thank you for saving my family," He whispered, his voice trembling at the last word.

He had never felt so helpless in his entire life.

They had only taken their marriage certificates with Sasha, Donald, Jason, and Jennifer as their witnesses.

Since they had taken responsibility for the wedding ceremony the next day, they left early while he took Glow to the nearby restaurant to dine and treat her.

After some time, Glow said she wasn’t feeling well. She said her Intuition was telling her that something bad was about to happen. She was more afraid about something happening to her boss, Elliana, and thus, when he noticed the worry on her face that was bad for their growing baby, Marcello decided it was for the best if he took her to where Elliana was resting.

He asked Glow if she wanted to inform Elliana beforehand, but the woman denied it.

However, she said Elliana was resting and she didn’t want to interrupt her healing time because they knew the girl would use her magic to come and check up on her if the girl found out her favorite vampire lady was feeling uneasy.

However, who would’ve thought that as soon as they stepped out of the restaurant things would go haywire?

The witches didn’t beat him in front of everyone. Rather they first used their magic to seclude them from the rest of the public before they took action.

Seeing Prince Angelo standing there, he was afraid that guy might end up hurting Glow badly for his evil intentions and needs.

At that time, Marcello could only pray to the moon goddess to let Elliana somehow find out about it and let his family be safe even if he perished at that moment.

He saw Prince Angelo slapping Glow while the witches and vampires beat him. He kept screaming for that prince to stop, but to no avail did he show any mercy to his own sister. He was truly pathetic for hitting his own sister. That was probably one of the only times in his life when he felt so helpless.

Marcello clenched his fists softly as he thought about all those things, making Elliana sigh.

"Stop thinking about those things and hurting yourself. I need you to take care of Glow once you are alright. In fact, I want you to move out of this place for some days. Will you be able to do that?" Elliana asked.

Sebastian, who was standing at some distance and heard her words, immediately understood what she was trying to do.

A displeased glint crossed his eyes, but he didn’t say anything because he knew at the end of the day, this was the only solution that could keep them safe and away from trouble.

He wanted to suggest the same for Elliana too. For her to vanish and hide somewhere until he handled all the things, but since the witches were also after her, they would try to find her even in hell.

Hell... Sebastian’s eyes widened when he remembered something and he looked at Elliana, who turned towards him when she felt his gaze on her.

"What is it, Mr. Marino?" Elliana asked, and the man’s gaze shifted to the people around, making her understand that he wanted to use the mind link to talk so no one else could hear them.

"Let’s discuss it later?" She asked, and he nodded.

They needed some time with each other to discuss this matter thoroughly, and probably the permission of her father too.

"I will be outside," Sebastian said, and Elliana nodded at him with a smile.

She sighed. If it hadn’t been for her husband, she didn’t even know how she would’ve faced herself if anything had happened to Marcello. She was really thankful to him, not for saving Marcello’s life only, but for saving herself from her own guilt trip that would’ve eaten her alive.

"Can you thank King Sebastian on my behalf? Also, I would like to have a little chat with him in private. Can you arrange it?" Marcello said as soon as Sebastian left, not daring to say anything in front of the man everyone was afraid of, since he wasn’t sure how he would react to his request.

"He didn’t do anything special. He just saved his sister’s husband. If you had just been a Duke, we hadn’t thought so much, but now things are different," Elliana said.

Marcello - "..." Well, that’s really very heartwarming.

He thought, knowing all too well that she was joking with him.

"So what plans do you guys have?" Marcello asked.

Elliana quirked her brows, unsure what exactly he was asking about.

"About what?"

"Prince Angelo," he murmured, not being able to hide his hatred for the prince. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com

"It’s complicated, Marcello. You know how things are in the royal palace. We can’t just punish him. And I know it sounds wrong in so many ways because he hurt not one, but so many people. Yet, I am sure that they will plead for mercy and another chance for him...and... Mr. Marino, my husband, who was never given any chance... I don’t know how he will handle that," Elliana confessed.

Marcello squeezed her hand back, making the girl smile before she stood from her place. She had more important pressing matters at hand.

"You take care. I will send Glow in as soon as she is done with her tests. I have to leave now. Some witch guards will be guarding your place from now on until you recuperate," Elliana said.

Marcello nodded in understanding as he watched the back of the leaving girl, hiding the secret that he heard those witches talking about.
