The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride-Chapter 641: Reverse counterattack
Chapter 641: Reverse counterattack
"Princess, why would you -" Sebastian felt as if someone stabbed his heart when he heard her words.
However, the tears that were rolling down her cheeks were even more hurtful. The beast inside him who had taken over him earlier to show his dominance, immediately calmed down as they looked at their wife with worry in their eyes.
’Why is she crying, Sebastian? Why is our woman crying? What did you do?’ The beast inside them asked, and Sebastian, who didn’t know what exactly happened, shook his head in confusion.
"Leave," Elliana whispered, and Sebastian’s men immediately left the hall without a second command. That was how much they respected their lady boss.
"Princess, talk to me. Look at me. What did I do wrong? If I am your culprit, hurt me. Slap me, punch me, but just don’t cry. You know I can’t see you crying like this," Sebastian said without caring about his reputation, his eyes turning the softest as he raised his hand to cup her cheeks once again.
However, before his hands could touch her face, she swatted his hands away, making his heart ache again.
She raised her gaze to look at him, the pain in them breaking Sebastian’s heart into a million pieces.
Prince Stephano and others, who should’ve gone to see if Victoria was all right, looked at the girl, who was breaking and didn’t know what to say at the moment.
They have never seen Elliana acting so emotionally.
"Do you know where I am coming from?" Elliana asked, wiping her eyes furiously.
"I am coming from the sacrificial clan," Elliana said.
Sebastian froze in his place when he realized what was the root cause of what was happening. He didn’t need to be told what made his princess so sad.
His pupils dilated a bit, panic immediately settling in his heart as he shook his head at his wife.
"Princess, I can explain. Listen to me first. What happened -" Sebastian started as he tried to hold Elliana’s hands again, but she just jerked him away.
"Don’t touch me. I am not your wife! We are divorced, aren’t we?" Elliana said.
Sebastian shook his head again, barely controlling his emotions from leaking.
"Please don’t utter those words, Princess. You are killing me every time you say you are not my wife. I am your husband. I don’t care about anything else and -"
Elliana scoffed through her tears.
"My husband? You are not my f*cking husband!! My husband promised me he wouldn’t hide anything from me. My husband had said he wouldn’t do anything that would break my heart to this level. What did you do? You are a self-centered person! How the hell did you dare to think sacrificing your beast will help me live longer and I will be able to live peacefully?" Elliana pushed Sebastian away with each sentence.
And the man let her do as she pleased as long as it meant she would calm down.
He knew what he did was wrong, but he was just contemplating those things. He was yet to initiate that process.
The family members, who heard what it was all about, looked at Sebastian in utter shock.
They knew that their brother loved his wife a little too much, but loved her to this level where he was ready to end all his power and beast, which would probably turn him weaker than an average vampire. It was beyond them.
Why? Because even the thought of it made them shudder.
"Do you think I would be happy to hear that?" Elliana pushed him back.
"Do you have any idea how painful it is for me? I am already dying in two months. All I want to do is create good memories with you. Why are you hurting me like this?" Elliana asked, covering her face as she fell to her knees.
However, before her knees could hit the ground, Sebastian held her in his arms before picking her in his arms and walking out of the hall, straight to their room as his woman cried in his arms.
He didn’t want his woman to cry in front of those people who would never understand her pain or their love for each other.
He gently placed her on the bed before looking at her.
She didn’t stop crying. Seeing her sniffing like this, Sebastian didn’t know what to do anymore and since he was left with no more choice, he resolved to the last method he could.
"Princess, stop this drama," Sebastian said, using reverse psychology, his words shocking his beast.
’What the hell, Sebastian? Have you lost your mind?’ His beast asked, horrified at his human counterpart.
"This drama? Do you think my love for you is a drama? That I am faking this pain?" Elliana asked, and Sebastian hummed.
"Just because I am not saying anything, doesn’t mean you get to say whatever your heart desires. How did you find out about my sacrifice plan? Those witches don’t invite someone on their own. Why did you go there in the first place?" Sebastian asked, leaving Elliana tongue-tied.
She wiped her eyes and looked away, but the man in front of her wasn’t going to let go of this matter so easily.
"Tell me, Princess. I am waiting for your answer. I am sure you didn’t go there to ask them to participate in the war because they are rogue witches and we have little to no control over them. What were you doing there? Or should I ask Leila about it?" Sebastian asked.
Elliana sniffed as she looked down at her hands, feeling wronged that she was caught.
Her heart still ached, but was she really allowed to complain when she was caught like this?
"I didn’t go there to make any sacrifices. I just wanted to know if any kind of sacrifice would be able to help us," Elliana mumbled the truth, and Sebastian sighed before sitting beside her.
"And did they say I initiated the sacrifice? I was also there to ask them in general. However, you must know that it wasn’t my decision. It was my devil’s decision," Sebastian paused before he stood from his place and walked to the other side where he had asked Ambrose to place some red roses for his wife.
"Our entire life, we yearned for someone to take care of us, to understand us and love us as we deserved. And you have given that love to us. My devil says the love you have given us is enough for him to be sacrificed peacefully. He will always be a part of me because it’s a part that I can’t cut off easily. That devil is the part of the curse, his powers will just die inside me. He will be just like another powerless soul inside me," Sebastian explained to her.
Elliana looked at her hands when she remembered the witch’s words about the war taking the sacrifice on its own and it would be someone very dear to her.
"We both will survive this war. Nothing will happen to you. I will ensure it," Elliana said.
Sebastian sighed before walking to her and placing the roses in her lap.
"I don’t want you to worry so much, Princess. We both will tackle this together," he said before placing his head in her lap.
"Never ever say those words to me again. You are my wife, my one and only family member that I cherish more than my life. I don’t care what those divorce papers mean. If you want I will get our marriage certificates. But don’t you dare say I am not your husband! I would rather die -" Sebastian paused when Elliana placed her hand on his lips.
"I am sorry. I thought you took the devil to sacrifice yourself for me once again even after I told you not to do something like that. My emotions are all over the place these days," Elliana said before she told him everything that the five elemental witches told her about the machine and those sacrificial witches said too.
Sebastian moved his hand through his hair.
He couldn’t say everything would be alright. After reading all those reports and weapons that were going to be used against them, he didn’t know how to console his wife.
It was true that their weapons were on par with the humans and their witches were also on par with those dark witches, but it was the bloodshed that he was worried about.
There hasn’t been a war where they don’t end up losing their family members.
He couldn’t share his feelings with Elliana because she was already so scared, but he was scared too.
He lost his mother in one such war. That day when he lost his will to live and saw that heart-wrenching site in front of himself was the time when he was described as a monster.
He doesn’t think he would be able to live with it if anything happened to his wife this time.
He would burn this entire world and wouldn’t care if he was the prophecy kid anymore.
