Chapter 647: Humans’ death

"King Sebastian," Gambit smirked as he was faced with the vampire king.

The man around him, looked at the man in front of them with a little wariness as they didn’t expect the king to come to them directly.

Sebastian didn’t even feel the need to greet that one rogue human who has been making things hard for them and collaborating with just and all kinds of people to take them down.

At one point in time, Sebastian even believed that it was related to some kind of revenge because of what some vampires might have done to him, then again, when he got intel on him by having some of his men spy on Gambit’s whereabouts, there was nothing.

The man just hated the vampire species and wanted them below them.

"You guys really believe you are above us, don’t you?" Gambit said when he saw Sebastian standing there and doing nothing.

He didn’t waste a single second and pulled out his pistol from his pocket, pointing it straight at Sebastian’s heart who was only a couple inches away from him.

Sebastian looked at the little pistol that looked nothing less than a toy to him. The beast inside him chuckled at the weapon.

"Funny," Sebastian’s beast whispered, and before Gambit could even blink his eyes, the weapon was taken away from his hand and crushed into tiny shards, the bullets dropping on the ground one by one as a smirk appeared on his lips.

"My people have suffered enough under your tactics and I think we have given enough of a chance to what we call a peace treaty. It’s about time we finally establish the reins that always belonged to us," Sebastian said, and he was about to attack Gambit when he felt a sudden force that pushed him backward.

Sebastian looked to his left side where three witches were standing, glaring at him.

A mocking smile appeared on his face.

The witches, who had intended to hurt Sebastian, looked at him, confused when nothing happened to the man. Since he was wearing a mask that covered his entire face, it was hard for them to judge and know who he really was.

But then again, they could’ve easily judged and felt his aura. Thus, for them to make this kind of mistake, was negligence at its best.

Sebastian looked at the three witches with a smirk.

"Fools," His beast said, and without wasting a second, he used his vampire speed before smashing the heads of those three witches who were trying to protect Gambit.

Azrael saw Sebastian killing her witches like a mad fire spreading in the forests because the magical powers have little to no effect on him, and pressed her lips into a thin line.

Sebastian’s powers were no joke.

Currently, he was the only man on the field in this battle who was the strongest of all and the real deal.

Nor was there any witch who could hurt him with her powers because of the curse on him, nor was he a victim to the rogue vampires because he drinks vampire’s blood and eats their hearts.

And humans, they were nothing in front of him.

Sebastian jerked his hand, his hands dripping the blood of the witches.

"You monster!" A few witches rushed to him, using their best attack technique on Sebastian, who just stood there with his swords as if he wasn’t at the receiving end of those attacks.

He didn’t waste any more time on the witches and went straight to Gambit. With one swoosh, Gambit’s head flew into the sky, horrifying all the humans, especially those who came from the hunter bloodline.

The rogues who were earlier fighting with confidence, stepped back and looked at the witches for help, but could the witches really help? fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com

He was a force not to be reckoned with, someone who could be tamed by one person only. And that person was the one who initiated this war.

Sebastian and his men spread among the human rogues like wildfire as they started attacking them.

Many vampires got attacked and hurt brutally by those humans because of them using weapons like guns.

Seeing the weapons hurting their team brutally and vampires falling limp on the ground because of the marksmanship of the humans with guns, Sebastian turned around and nodded at Coleman, who immediately pulled out his flare gun and raised it in the air.

Shot!

The thundering sound echoed in the environment along with a green color that was a clear signal for their weapons-holding team to step forward.

The snipers, who had been trained earlier, immediately took their positions, and the troops who had been hidden under the ground on the side locations immediately came forward on wolves who had volunteered since they didn’t want to use horses and increase their loss.

Immediately the new team started firing at the humans, countering their attacks with an even more brutal force.

The sounds of rapid shooting as the vampires brought out their machine guns and asked the vampires from their team to retreat so that their people don’t get hurt, echoed in the area, and Elliana, who saw the third phase of the war starting already, sighed.

Sebastian, on the other hand, raised his hands in the air to signal to his people to stop firing. The first round was successfully over and they could see a very heavy impact on the other team.

Dead bodies sprawled everywhere. It was a disgusting sight. Then again, a war was never pleasant to begin with.

Marla, who was further behind the enemy’s team and heard the tragic sounds of soldiers crying in pain and the machine guns firing, looked at her people.

Hesitancy was clear in her eyes. Though it was their bloodline’s rule to not let women fight in the wars, she was here. She was here to fight for her daughter who died a very brutal death. The kind of death that she probably didn’t deserve.

What was her fault? She hated the fact that her father cheated on her mother and she had to live her life with the living evidence of that betrayal. She tried her best to stay in the light, so her father wouldn’t have to look at his other daughter.

Marla knew how much pain Madeline really was in, how much she used to seek validation from her father. Though she never said and always appeared confident, it was she who heard her daughter’s silent helpless cries.

What they did was indeed wrong. Any sane human wouldn’t do that. But the fact that they saw the King trying to build a new and even better accommodation for his bastard child enraged them.

What’s more, the person he cheated on her with was none other than her cousin’s relative, which makes that woman her sister too.

It was all because of that, they were standing here. Nor has her husband cheated on her, accepted that bastard child, has her married in the vampire Kingdom, nor anything like this would have happened.

Marla closed her eyes and took a deep breath, accepting her fate. Of course, it was their fate, or why would the king suddenly fall terminally ill?

She was always proud of her brother being an emperor and thought he would help her too, but he denied it at the last moment. Though he sent some troops to help them and strengthen their army, was it really anything in front of his presence? The council denied their involvement too because they strongly believed in the peace treaty.

Aditya, the one boy she thought would side with Madeline, was the one who collected all the evidence against them.

According to that evidence, it was clear that it was the humans who instigated the vampires first by trying to kill Elliana again and again, and that was the reason behind Sebastian’s retaliation.

Thus, it was seen as a breach of the peace treaty from their side, and the council stayed on the neutral side.

When she confronted Aditya, the boy said that he committed a mistake once by not believing Elliana when she was innocent, he won’t stand by the evil again. Madeline was wrong. Despite her jealousy or reason behind the actions, what was wrong would stay wrong in his eyes.

At the end of the day, Marla was left alone to avenge her daughter’s death. And though she knew she would meet her end today, at least she would have that end after fighting for justice for her daughter. No matter how wrong her daughter was, in her eyes, she was just a little kid who made mistakes.

Dying while finding justice for her daughter was far better than living the wretched life, the life where her daughter was dead, and her cheater husband was on the verge of dying. Though no one says it to her face, it doesn’t mean she doesn’t know about the rumors and gossip everyone shares about her.

"We are ready to fight," Marla whispered, and as soon as she did that, she saw a group of vampires rushing towards them.

Her hand on the sword tightened. She raised her sword in the air to counter-attack the attack from the vampire in front of her, who happened to be Ambrose.

Ambrose, remembering all the times their princess cried because of this family and how brutally this woman had tried to harm her when she had visited them, closed his eyes when he saw tears of helplessness in the woman’s eyes.

Normally he doesn’t raise his hand on a woman, but right now in front of him was a culprit who tried to sexually assault their princess, tried to burn her, hurt her, traumatized her for more than 12 years and she deserved death.

Ambrose raised his hand and with a swoosh, plunged his hand straight into her chest, pulling her heart out, making her gasp and have her dead body stumble back before it fell on the ground with a thud.
