Chapter 649: The death machine

Azrael wiped her tears.

"You guys are so bad," She said, her sudden change of emotions confusing everyone.

"Only your love matters and mine doesn’t? What kind of sick logic is that? Do I not deserve any kind of love? Why should I stay away from love?" Azrael asked as she wiped her eyes furiously.

"Is what I am doing so wrong in your eyes that you guys are ready to start a war and sacrifice so many people just to stop me? What did I want? I just wanted my lover to come back so I could also have someone to rely on. What’s so wrong with that? I just want one person back," Azrael said before she looked straight into Azura’s eyes.

As soon as Azura noticed Azrael’s gaze on her, she mistook it for her sister trying to harm her daughter, and she hid Elliana even further behind herself as King Eros helped their daughter heal faster.

Their daughter was losing too much blood, and it wasn’t good for her magna she was already limited because of her sharing it with everyone to protect them from wicked lies and tricks, which was making her healing harder.

Azrael sniffed, hiding her face behind her hands.

"If our mother had allowed me to preach that in the beginning, nothing like this would’ve happened in the first place, but she didn’t help me. I asked her to support me and help me get that man, but what did she do? She killed my unborn child by locking me up in the name of me losing my mind.

And then my sisters didn’t support me. What was I supposed to do? I had to find a way too. You have no idea what it feels like to lose a lover, do you?" Azrael asked before she bent her body so she could look at Elliana.

"They are pretentious emotionless fools who don’t have what it takes to fight for your love, but tell me Elliana, if you had been in my place and someone had taken Sebastian away from you, wouldn’t you have lost your mind too?

That night I didn’t only lose my lover but my baby too. None of you standing here can understand what my loss feels like," Azrael said.

She was about to add more when Azura scoffed.

No one here could understand her pain.

Was she for real? Her daughter wasn’t even born when everyone started planning against her. As soon as her daughter was born, she was taken away from her and her husband was declared dead when in reality both of them lived away from her.

For eighteen long years, she suffered in pain, living the life of a dead body with no soul because she lost the meaning in life and was alive only to take care of the Kingdom, and her sister dared to ask if anyone shared her kind of pain.

For 18 years King Eros had to stay locked up in a maze because he mistakenly asked a huntress full of lust and evil intentions for help?

And what about her daughter who had to suffer for so long and was still suffering?

What about this vampire King who was cursed with this kind of fate all because of her?

"You know, Azrael, everyone here has gone through some kind of pain or other. Maybe what you suffered is worse, but that doesn’t mean what others feel is insignificant," Azura said.

Azrael didn’t mind Azura’s words. She didn’t want to concentrate on anything else but one person that she terribly needed to accomplish her dream of getting the former vampire king back to life. She looked straight at Elliana, waiting for her answer, who looked down at her feet.

"I would’ve rather killed myself than hurt so many people just to bring my husband back. I won’t sacrifice the lives of innocent people to bring him back.

I indeed love him the most in the world and there is no comparison of it with anything in the entire world, but... as hateful as it may sound, I wouldn’t want to become the reason for the death of thousands of people. Rather I would die in peace in hopes of being together with him in heaven," Elliana whispered softly, and everyone who heard her felt her emotions crystal clear.

She was scared. She was dreadful that something was about to happen to either of them.

Elliana clenched her fists as she coughed a little more blood while healing. No matter if they were winning or losing, the thought wasn’t leaving her mind. The thought of what the give elemental witches told her. The machine that Azrael had in her possession.

Azrael chuckled through her tears, the kind of chuckle that brought out the menace inside the person, the hidden agendas crumbling all the facades that person was bearing and wearing.

"You are right. Everyone suffered. So how about I end these miseries for everyone for once and all?" Azrael took the tear that rolled down her cheek on the tip of her index finger before jerking it away and looking straight into Elliana’s eyes.

"Little girl, you still have a chance. Come to me and help me get the love of my life peacefully. That’s how we can still save the lives of all these people present here. We won’t have to shed any more blood and this war can come to an end immediately," Azrael said.

Elliana, whose hand was held by King Eros as he healed her, looked around herself and a shaky breath escaped her lips.

Seeing their daughter contemplating her options like this, Azura was about to intervene when Sebastian, who had stopped in between when he saw the rogue vampires attacking his people and was still fighting, shook his head at her.

The indication was clear. They couldn’t back away after coming this far. Because if they did, the sacrifice of all the people who died would be useless, all the courage they were showing and their blood on the field would be useless.

No one will remember her sacrifice as much as everyone will remember how they had backed away from the war and Azrael had won because, at the end of the day, she got what she wanted.

Elliana gulped.

Seeing the hesitancy in the girl’s eyes, Azrael smiled.

"Well, if that’s what you want. Don’t say that I didn’t warn you earlier," Azrael said before she clapped her hands, and 10 witches appeared from the farthest part of their team, bringing what looked like a large machine that was hidden inside a white cloth.

Elliana’s heart thumped before it started beating furiously.

No. No. There was no way it was the same machine.

Nathaniel, who had also heard about the machine gulped and looked at it with wariness. Was this the same machine that has the evilness stored of so many dead souls?

Azrael walked to the machine and removed the white cloth from over it.

She didn’t give any chance for anyone to retaliate.

"Attack!" Azrael hit the machine, and a large energy magna circle came out from it.
