Chapter 650: The Sacrifice

"Elliana!" King Eros and Azura immediately stepped in front of their daughter to protect her.

Elliana too, placed her hands in front of herself to create a shield that could protect them from Azrael’s attack.

Everything went still for a couple of seconds.

The onlookers and the people who participated in the war, stood there, watching what happened on the west side as a big light shone from where Azrael attacked Elliana.

Lord Ahriman stood from his place to look at what happened more clearly.

Azura and King Eros, who had also extended their hands in front of them to strengthen the shield created by Elliana, making it impenetrable, breathed a sigh of relief when they saw Elliana’s powers along with theirs, countering Azrael’s attack.

The Magna of their powers engulfed each other like two snakes wrapping themselves around each other to win. The stronger powers were bound to win, but at least this countering would dissolve a hell lot of the attack intensity and wouldn’t hurt Elliana that much.

Azura looked at the five elemental powers and nodded at them, a clear indication that they needed to stay ready for the worst and defend them if their countering attack lost.

"Don’t worry, baby, we will win. She won’t be able to do anything to us. We have countered this greatly," King Eros comforted Elliana, who kept looking forward.

She didn’t say anything. There was no expression on her face.

Why? Because something was amiss.

If this was really Azrael’s final attack and the ultimate attack that the five elemental witches were talking about, she wouldn’t have been standing so calmly and watching their powers fight. She would’ve added her powers to make the attack even more powerful.

Despite the fact that she needed to save her Magna if she wanted to bring back her lover and use her Siren powers of reincarnation, Azrael would’ve done something.

However, she wasn’t. The witch was just standing and watching everything as if it intrigued her but didn’t interest her at the same time.

And Elliana wasn’t the only one with the same thoughts.

Nathaniel also looked at the machine closely. The five elemental witches said that it was the machine developed by him, no? And as much as the model of the machine looked the same, it didn’t feel the same at the same time.

He could’ve believed that Arizona might have made some changes to the machine to make it more deadly, but she had little to no idea of how it was formed.

He had used many dark spells that were forbidden to a white witch like her, and no dark witch would’ve been able to help her either because of the level difference.

Could it be that Azrael just used the replica of that so-called machine and made a machine just like that to catch them off-guard? So that she could use their energies at a different attack and when she would be performing her final attack, no one interfered with her?

As soon as the thought crossed his mind, he looked at Elliana, who was already looking at him.

Both of them had the same look of understanding in their eyes. King Eros and Azura, who had no idea about what the machine looked like but saw the expression on Nathaniel’s face immediately understood that it was just a faux attack.

But if this was a faux attack and it had this kind of intensity where their magna was battling with the energy ball and still not able to win, just what kind of energy did that machine really store?

Azura’s heart trembled at the mere thought and she turned to her husband, who had the same thoughts as her.

"We will protect our daughter with our life. No matter what happens. We failed as her parents and didn’t protect her when she needed us, but we won’t shy away from the responsibility this time, yes?" King Eros asked Azura, the indication clear in his eyes.

They were ready to embrace death this time.

The five elemental witches saw the resolution in their eyes and knew what was coming next.

Everyone could feel the shift of emotions in their team suddenly. Even their usually full-motivation princess was standing there with tears brimming in her eyes.

Sebastian and his team who were continuously fighting because they didn’t want the humans and rogue vampires to aid the witches and hurt their witch’s team too, took a momentary pause when they saw that their magna won.

Elliana’s powers along with King Eros and Queen Azura’s magna won against that damned machine.

"Sir, they did it!" Lucas looked at his boss with a beaming expression.

"Ambrose, you saw that, we did it!" Harry also mimicked Lucas’s expression, and they were about to holler in laughter and happiness when they looked at their boss, their smiles faltering immediately.

Sebastian didn’t smile, nor was there any happiness in his eyes.

Why? Because even after they won, for some reason, he could see the disappointment in Elliana’s eyes.

What was going on? Wasn’t this their ultimate win? The machine Azrael was talking about? Sebastian looked around themselves to find out if they were missing something. However, he couldn’t pinpoint anything.

Azrael looked at Elliana’s defeated yet resolute eyes, the motivation to take whatever blow was intended for her, clear in her eyes.

She scoffed.

These people really underestimate her a lot, don’t they? Do they really think they will be able to save the target she was intending this attack on?

"I warned you," Azrael whispered to Elliana, calculating the distance between everyone who would take this blow on themselves for each other before she raised her hand, and as soon as she did that, an even bigger machine that had always been present in the field but hidden behind the invisibility veil, appeared right in front of everyone.

The energy circle formed at the launching area of the machine and Azrael raised her hand before pointing it towards where Ari was standing.

Elliana, who had promised Ari, would protect her with her life if she helped them and pulled out her demon powers when needed, looked at Ari with wide eyes.

Ari’s eyes widened when she saw the attack was intended for her. Does that mean she would die before saving her mother? Her heart thumped as she turned her head and looked at Elliana instinctively.

The fear of death was clear in the girl’s eyes and Elliana clenched and unclenched her fists. There was no other choice.

Without wasting a single second, Elliana used her teleportation and appeared right in front of Ari.

That was the least she could do for a woman who kept her alive for 18 years. She would be repaying Arizona for everything with this one sacrifice.

Even though her life wasn’t all flowers, she was glad just to be alive. At least, because of the witch queen, she was able to meet her mom and dad in this lifetime, but more than that, she was able to meet a loving man like Mr. Marino who protected and loved her like the best husband in the world.

He gave her 18 years worth of love in these 5 months, and it was more than enough for her to die peacefully.

"Elliana!"

"Elliana!"

"Elliana!"

The collective sounds echoed as they saw her standing in front of Ari to take the blow that was bound to tear her to shreds. freёnovelkiss.com

There was no saving her anymore.

’I was bound to leave after one month anyway,’ Elliana smiled as she closed her eyes.
