Chapter 656: The ultimate decision

"What kind of solution?" Azura was the first one to step forward and Misha looked at everyone warily.

She knew what she was going to say might get her a serious backlash, but as the siren queen who once destroyed herself for the sake of nature, she was ready to take the backlash once again, especially when that one person she respected the most despite her age was in so much pain.

Elliana wasn’t a bad girl, nor was she turning into an evil soul. She was just terribly wounded.

And who better than Misha could feel the pain she was feeling since their powers were interlinked?

"The revival. Wasn’t Azrael going to use my siren powers for the same? Rather than the former vampire king, we can use those powers to bring Sebastian back," Misha said every word carefully, her gaze shifting to Elliana, who was looking at her earnestly.

"However, I won’t be able to do this alone. I need one more person to help me with this," Misha said, her gaze shifting to where Azrael was sitting with the poisonous dagger in her hands.

Everyone followed her gaze and looked at Azrael, who looked around, unsure. ƒreewebɳovel.com

"M-me?" She asked, and Misha nodded.

"Don’t tell me you don’t know how to do it when you practically started a war against us just for this. You are the only person here apart from me who knows the art of revival using the siren powers," Misha said, and Elliana looked at Azrael earnestly.

If she saved her husband, Elliana might hold herself back from killing the lady so brutally. There was no way she would allow a witch as toxic as Azrael to roam around freely, but she wouldn’t kill her so brutally either.

Azrael looked at the girl and didn’t know what to say.

What Misha was saying was true. She knew how to perform this ritual. But she was confused as to why Misha wasn’t saying anything regarding the sacrifice that would be needed for the revival. And that Elliana’s chance of survival after this would be even less than 5%.

Azrael looked at Misha, trying to decipher what was going on inside the siren queen’s head.

These people might not believe her, but for once she actually wanted to think in their favor, and for some reason, she was afraid that rather than thinking about rejuvenating what she broke, Misha was trying to benefit herself.

As if Misha understood what exactly was going on inside Azrael’s head, she sighed.

"You might be thinking that I am here thinking about myself because as soon as this revival process is done, the siren powers will come back to me, but believe me or not, I actually care for Elliana more than anyone here. I have seen her highs and lows my entire life, living under her jurisdiction by acting mute for more than three years. You have no idea how much I know and how much I love her," Misha explained before looking at Elliana.

She walked ahead and held the girl’s hand. Though Misha was younger than Elliana for obvious reasons, her soul was far older than hers.

"There are some consequences of this revival. I know you won’t care about any of it, but even after that, as the lead ritual performer, it’s my duty to tell you the truth," Misha said.

She looked around herself, her gaze stopping at Elliana’s parents for more than a few seconds.

Why? Because she knew what she was going to say next would be opposed by them the most.

"You might die," Misha didn’t sugarcoat her words.

King Eros immediately stepped forward, but Nathaniel held his hand.

"Let her finish," Nathaniel said.

He didn’t like what he was hearing either. But with the kind of anger Elliana was showing, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that she would kill herself either way. The siren powers that looked like they were working with Elliana’s powers were actually helping Elliana destroy herself by aiding her wishes of destruction.

Thus, he wanted to hear the full deal first, not to mention how Misha used the most unpredictable word ’might’.

"What’s the worrying part?" Elliana asked with a calm expression.

Now that her anger was starting to dissipate since Misha said they would be able to bring back Sebastian, she was thinking more rationally than before.

"If you survive, you guys will forget about each other completely. He won’t remember any part of you, the marriage, the moments you shared, everything would be gone. The people around you might remember things, but partially only. The chances of everyone forgetting anything you guys related are higher.

Also, if anyone tried to help you guys remember anything, one of you would die for sure because it would be going against nature’s law," Misha said.

Elliana took a deep shaky breath.

It was almost as if there was a water well on one side and a ditch on the other side. No matter what she chose, she was bound to die either way.

"Can you make him forget about me even if I am gone?" Elliana asked, and Misha looked at the girl, her eyes brimming with tears.

Even when she was practically telling the girl that she would die, this fool was thinking about his pain rather than herself.

"I will," Misha said, and Elliana took a deep breath.

She knew she was being selfish by deciding this for herself.

She should be thinking about her mother, about her father whom she finally met after eighteen long years and finally got the chance to have their love. She should be thinking about those people dependent on her, but she couldn’t.

It was hard for her too. Elliana knew she wouldn’t be able to live without him. It was something she wasn’t capable of doing. At the end of the day, everyone would learn to live without her, but what about her? Her heart died the moment Sebastian took his last breath.

Besides, her parents didn’t know about her for 18 years, so they were able to cooperate easily, and regarding her teams, they were intelligent enough to live a good life.

She was just their leader after all.

Elliana looked at her parents, who were looking at her with hope. They were hoping for her to think of them too and decide against the idea, but they could see in her eyes that she had made up her mind and there was nothing they could do other than pray to the moon goddess to keep their daughter alive.

Elliana walked to her mother and hugged her.

They didn’t exchange any words.

She walked to her father and did the same before stopping in front of Nathaniel.

"Don’t cry," She whispered and Nathaniel squared his jaws before pulling her close and hugging her tight.

"This is so unfair," he whispered, and Elliana nodded.

"Life is unfair and unpredictable," She whispered before she pulled back and kissed his cheeks.

"Take care of mom and dad if I don’t make -"

"You will make it out alive. You will have to!" Nathaniel said resolutely, and she smiled before humming.

Elliana looked at her wolf team before bowing to them in apology.

"I am sorry, but I guess we were destined to have this collaboration till here only. Thank you for helping and trusting me with your life. And I apologize for all the casualties," Elliana said as the wolves started to howl in agony and pain, breaking everyone’s heart, before she turned to the vampire’s team.

Her gaze met with Lucas and Ambrose, who were looking at her in shock.

They had so many things to tell her, to say to her, but was it of any use? Could they really ask their future queen to not revive their king? Of course not. They would be the happiest people on Earth if that happened.

But they didn’t really want that to happen at the expense of their princess’s life.

Lucas walked ahead, using his vampire speed, barely able to hold himself because of how his body was reacting to the ache in his heart before he fell to his knees in front of her.

He held her hand before kissing the back of her palms.

"I have vouched for my eternal loyalty to you. Even if our King forgets you, I won’t forget you. Every cell in my body will remember you even if my mind forgets," Lucas said before he pulled out his dagger from his pocket and sliced his palm, letting the blood drop to make a promise to her.

He then wrote her name on his hand with the tip of the dagger.

Everyone was shocked as to what he was doing, and to what extent he was going to show his loyalty to her. Then again, they also knew that this name would heal soon and it wouldn’t be on his hand.

However, what happened next, shocked everyone even more as Lucas took the lava on the tip of his dagger and placed it on his hand to make the name permanent for once and all.

Elliana’s eyes brimmed with tears at what she was seeing and she clenched her hands before placing her hand on his head, caressing his hair.

"If I get to live, I will remember you too," she said before turning around to look at Misha and nodding at her.

She was ready.
