The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride-Chapter 657: Dying in his memories
Chapter 657: Dying in his memories
All the witches started to leave the battlefield one by one. The process wasn’t supposed to take place on the battlefield where Sebastian’s body was.
Why? Because if it worked, Sebastian wasn’t supposed to see Elliana or have any recollection of her.
"It’s a good thing. Despite the destruction she caused, she placed the ultimate shield on Sebastian which saved his body from the aftermath, and it will heal faster," Misha said before she turned to Lucas and Ambrose.
"You guys stay in front of Sebastian’s body. No matter what happens, how much he struggles in pain, no one shall be allowed near him or touch him, okay? Whether Elliana stayed alive or perished, you won’t be informed about it either.
Once Sebastian is in moving condition, take him back to the kingdom. Your lives will go back to being normal,"
Misha explained the little details to Lucas and Ambrose who nodded their heads, looking at their princess, who was standing there with her head on Nathaniel’s chest.
The guy was still not ready to let her go.
They might know that he was her half-brother, and their relationship might have changed, but it won’t change the fact that he loved her with all he had his entire life.
"Let’s go," Misha nodded at the witches, and Azura held Azrael’s hand.
"I know you hate my daughter and us for never being there for you, but can I trust you on this? If you want, you can take your revenge on me, but please save my daughter," Azura asked, hoping her sister would save her daughter by hook or by crook.
Azrael looked into her sister’s eyes before nodding.
"You saved my life. Even after everything I did, you saved my life. I will repay you," Azrael said resolutely, even when she was still confused about what was going on in Misha’s head.
Both of them knew that a sacrifice would definitely be taken.
Was she thinking of sacrificing someone else? Or was she really thinking of sacrificing Elliana? She might have gathered knowledge about the ritual, but it was true that at the end of the day, Misha was the true queen, the true beholder of this ancient technique, and knew better.
Thus, it wasn’t like she was in any position to question her either.
All the other witches were asked to leave for their respective places, clans, and kingdoms while they reached the Golden Forests.
"Do you have anything that has Sebastian’s blood? I forgot to bring it," Misha said, all the softness gone from her face.
Elliana opened her fists where she was holding the locket Sebastian was wearing before he died that still had hints of his blood.
"Good. Now go and lay down in the middle of the circle on your back," Misha said.
"What circle?" Elliana asked, confused and Misha clicked her fingers, making a ritual circle appear.
Azura immediately held King Eros’s hand as her heart trembled when Elliana stepped into the middle of the ritual circle to perform the revival ritual.
Misha nodded at Azrael, who gave Azura a comforting look before standing at the other side of the ritual spell.
Azrael pulled out the stones that she had stuffed in her pockets. She clinked the stones together, making a black spark appear out of them that rejuvenated her Magna she lost during the match and she was going to use it while calling back her lover.
Azrael knew the risk that was going to come with this kind of ritual where the sacrificial person wasn’t decided and looked at Azura.
"If something happens to me, one of my witches will come to you and lead you to where I have captured Mom and Arizona. Free them," Azrael said before nodding at Misha.
Earlier she was sure that she wouldn’t die even after conducting the ritual because she was making her mother bait by using her bone marrow, and the soul that would appear back would need a body too.
And then there was Elliana too.
However, this time if she saw she could save the girl by sacrificing herself, she would do it. There was no meaning to her life either way. And she didn’t know if she would be able to live with the kind of sins she committed.
"Let’s begin," Misha said before she extended her hand towards Elliana and Azrael followed the same thing.
Blue-colored lightning-like lines started appearing from the hands of both Misha and Azrael that were targeted straight at Elliana’s abdomen.
Azura, who stood there, watching the phenomenon happening, furrowed her brows when she saw the lines going for the abdomen instead of her heart or her mind.
Then again, it wasn’t a ritual that was normally practiced or anything like she had seen before.
Meanwhile, Elliana, who was lying in the middle of the ritual circle and wasn’t the least bit afraid of what was happening because she had already accepted her death, smiled as the memories of her time with Mr. Marino started to cloud her thoughts.
The pain in her abdomen was increasing, and she clenched her fists on her dress as she thought about all those times.
The first day they met and he was so cold to her. Even though he was cold, it was admirable how respectful he always was. She still remembered her interaction with him when she had almost fallen on top of him and he had teased her.
He didn’t allow her to see his face for three months, but he showed her the real self on day three only.
He used to claim to dislike her, but he was the only one who would end up scooping her in his arms every single time, worrying about her health, about her mood, especially her naivety.
He gave her into her emotions and made her feel at home. It was he who taught her it was okay to be expressive, it was okay to be shy, and more than that, it was okay to know nothing and everything at the same time.
Mr. Marino didn’t bring joy to her life, rather, he taught her it was okay to live, and that she deserved it all. Never once did she regret meeting him or becoming a scapegoat for her sister that day.
He was not her husband only. He was someone she respected, someone she cared for, her best friend, her mother, and father at the same time. That man was the first and only love of her life.
Elliana’s body jerked in its place as blood dripped down from the corner of her mouth, but she didn’t scream.
Screaming would only mean she was in pain, but she wasn’t. Rather she was happy. She was happy that her powers were finally used on one person she would lay down her life for, the person she cherished more than anything in the whole world.
As soon as her body started to rise in the air, Elliana smiled and imagined herself being lifted by her husband and she trusted him to not let her fall.
He never let her fall. Yes, there were ups and downs, mostly because of the misunderstandings between them, but he never let her fall.
Her mind was becoming fuzzy. Elliana knew it was time to say goodbye to these sweet moments. The excruciating pain in her body was only increasing. A tear rolled down the corner of her eyes as she smiled.
’I love you, Mr. Marino. Never ever think I loved you any less. This might be the end for us, but it’s the beginning of a new era for you. I wish you a happy life,’ Elliana said, the message she had recorded during the end of battle when she thought she would be dying, echoing in her head.
The message was useless now. She wouldn’t ever be able to have him listen to what she wanted to say.
Azura and King Eros, who were standing at the sidelines along with Nathaniel, couldn’t take it anymore.
"I... I am leaving, honey. I am sorry but I can’t see my daughter being killed slowly like this," King Eros said as he saw the blood dripping from her body on the ground and dissipating into nothingness.
Her body was turning completely pale as if the soul inside it was leaving slowly.
King Eros closed his eyes before he left to help his father clean the battlefield area. He needed to clean the lava mess with his friend too.
He knew he was being a coward, but he was ready to be called one. However, seeing the part of him that he tried and worked so hard to save, killing herself like this, he just couldn’t bear it.
Nathaniel was about to walk to his stepmother to hold her and tell her that everything would be fine when Elliana’s body suddenly fell from the sky with a loud thump, making them shake in their places.
"Elliana!" Azura shouted in horror as she rushed to the circle to hold her daughter one last time.
Nathaniel who was facing the other side, stood there frozen, his heart trembling at what he would get to see.
As soon as King Eros reached the battlefield and saw the movement in Sebastian’s body, tears brimmed his eyes and Lord Ahriman walked to his friend, his eyes moist too.
It was hard to believe, but it was what it was. Their daughter was gone.
