Transmigrating from a zombie world to become the mecha kings wife-Chapter 629: Defining weird.
Chapter 629: Defining weird.
As it turned out, the decision made by Apheitos was the right one because it took Scarlet five days to wipe out every monster in the pits. Not only did she wipe them out but her soul completely merged with the green flame. The two months were not up, and she was two weeks ahead of schedule.
Scarlet could not believe it herself but she had done it against all odds.
Almost everything about her had changed. Her hair was now dark green, permanently. Her eyes too, one was grey while one had turned to green. In a way, she looked as mysterious and freaky as an actual deity even though she wasn’t one.
Apheitos could not assign what she was exactly because she wasn’t all grim reaper. She was something else now, something more powerful and definitely something new.
The other humans assumed that she had made all these changes cosmetically on this world. Adler for one didn’t like it. Justin thought her eyes were cool, Lora said she looked like a bounty hunter. Scarlet thought she looked beautiful. The hair and eyes were a sign of the hardships she had endured. fгeewebnovёl.com
With the mission completed, she slept for one full day and when she woke up, she decided to finally got a chance to explore the largest market in Vi-poral. She stepped out with everyone since they all wanted to explore the market.
It was an open market, not caged inside a building but sitting on open land. The vendors came with their own stalls which they could fold up at the end of the day and keep away. They had storage bags which were tied around the waist like belts. It was familiar and yet different technology from what the humans had.
Another thing that they had in common with humans was the use of star dust spice. While it was rare among humans and used for illegal or research purposes, here it was sold out in the open. The glittering powder was called wanderlust on this continent and it was very expensive.
This continent also had food, a lot more than any of the empires in the star alliance did. Their lands were fertile, growing everything that could be eaten and that which could not be eaten. This was something to envy about their world.
Scarlet was already purchasing all sorts of seeds for different edible foods and herbs that they didn’t have at home.
She was just making her payment with gold which was acceptable here when noise at the next stall attracted her attention. It was quite comical for her to see fully dressed animals walking around with shopping bags.
"They seem so human." she said.
Her eyes were glued to two plain white goat like creatures. One was a mother and the other her child. They were purchasing fruits from the stall and the child was jumping and down, demanding and pointing to a different stall. It was behavior so common among humans.
"Don’t stare, they don’t like that." Adler whispered to her.
"They stare at me too." Scarlet replied, her tone very defensive.
Adler stared at her briefly and shook his head like he was vey befuddled. "Because you look so....I can’t describe it. I mean you are still beautiful sis but those two eyes, just change it back to grey."
"Nope." she told him. She looked down and said to Justin, "Look baby, that baby goat acts just like you."
Justin pouted. "They are not called goats mommy, they are called Belarans." He informed her with a know it all kind of attitude.
"Wow, what else have you learned in a few days?" she asked him.
Justin nodded eagerly and happily shared with her. "The different species have different names but all end with ’ans’. Catarans, Belarans, Quezarans."
"Hoo.., look who has been a good student." she ruffled his hair, praising him.
"Come on, let uncle Adler take a picture of us inside the market. When you go back, you can show it to all your friends at school." she told him.
She bent down, picked him up and carried him at the side of her waist. Adler snapped a few pictures for mother and son as they tried different poses.
While they were taking pictures, others were also taking pictures of them, especially of Lora.
"What gives? Why is everyone interested in her?" She whispered to Adler.
Adler gently knocked on Scarlet’s head and said, "Is this what they call pregnancy brain? Lora and Tion have been fighting in the pits everyday. They have won a few fights which earned them some star status. You were there for some of the fights. How could you forget?"
She had not been there so she definitely didn’t remember. This was a reminder that she needed to speak to Apheitos about transferring the memories of that phantom to her.
Scarlet scratched her belly gently and looked around, confusion on her face. She would lean into the pregnancy brain excuse for now.
"Mommy, look, glass lollipop."
Scarlet saw him a different stall, one that sold sweets. She had no idea when he had let go of her hand after she put him down but seeing him running around on his own scared her.
"Alexander Justin Wu!" she called him in a chiding tone.
A red cheetah passed by Scarlet and said, "Oooh, I know that tone. Just two swats on the bottom and you will have no trouble."
She gave unsolicited advise and kept walking. Scarlet assumed that she was a mother too and she had a few misbehaving cubs of her own.
Worried, Scarlet reached Justin and grabbed his hand. "You cannot run off on your own little mister. Have you seen how big this place is? What will I do if I lose you?"
"You see that Oren, even the weird looking creatures don’t let little cubs walk around on their own." Someone a stone throws distance away said.
Scarlet definitely had to look and see who it was because there were no other weird looking creatures in the market with the exception of the humans. It was the mother goat, or Belaran as Justin said they were called.
"They think we are weird." Adler whispered to Scarlet. It was more of an amused questioning statement than a declaration.
To them, the creatures on this continent were the weird ones.
"Weird is decided by the majority and right now we are the minority and they are the majority." she told him.
Then she looked back at everyone and announced loudly.
"Let’s just keep shopping. We should buy souvenirs for everyone back at home. I am sure that they will be happy to receive them. Also, this is our last day on this planet so make use of it and wrap up your activities. Tomorrow we are going start our journey to Xeno. I did promise princess Carana that I would visit."
