Transmigrating from a zombie world to become the mecha kings wife-Chapter 628: Hot on her heels
Chapter 628: Hot on her heels
The deity of death was doing his duty, accepting new souls and sending them on their last journey before reincarnation. As always he had to confirm the identity of the human lest the wrong person be sent away before their time.
One of the gatekeepers approached him and whispered, "Traces of Scarlet may have been found."
He turned to the gatekeeper and temporarily ignored the soul waiting to be attended to. He even closed the book of the dead temporarily and stood up. If necessary, he would go in person to bring her back.
"Where?" he asked.
"A small forgotten world called Nolly, someone cleared out all the demons, wiping them out of existence completely."
The old deity opened his book and the pages turned on there own in search of the world named Nolly. They stopped and a world revealed itself. In the book, images of the world moved, showing him what it looked like at the moment and what it used to look like in the past.
"The head of the gatekeepers said that they have not received any demon souls and yet all the demons have been wiped out. We don’t know whose doing it is but the energy left behind is hers." The gatekeeper continued reporting.
"It’s her." The old deity spoke so surely. He was sure that it was her because she wanted the bracelet of kin gone. She had in no certain terms told Lythia that if they didn’t help her take it off, she would find a way to do it herself.
She must have found a way to have it removed. She had even blocked her thoughts from them to prepare for this plan of hers.
Why she was wiping out demons he didn’t know. As soon as he thought of that he recalled the special power of her flame and his eyes widened. She was absorbing the souls. That’s why she wanted the bracelet gone, she was seeking power!
"How long ago was this?" He asked fiercely.
"Two days maximum but she is already gone. There are no creatures left alive there to give us answers." The gatekeeper told him.
The old deity turned the page back to the list with the names of the dead. If she was already gone then she was gone. They could only track her when she was teleporting. If used a space ship then they couldn’t trace her.
"Tell them to continue searching. Since she has been to one condemned world then she might visit another so search every condemned world. Tell Lythia to lend you a few shadows to help. And make sure that you come to me first when you find her."
The gatekeeper bowed and walked away.
The old deity looked at the soul of the dead woman and then the book.
"Lana Chatsworth, age fifty six. Died from over eating."
He looked up and shook his head. What a ridiculous way to go.

In the human world, on the continent of Vi-poral, Scarlet had already started her training, again. The pits that Apheitos mentioned were actual pits, deep underground. They were dark, cold and smelly. Burning fire was used to provide light down there.
Scarlet was fighting a gigantic tiger whose claws could rip anything apart with one swipe. She had never seen a tiger of this size before. It was quite humbling that something like this just naturally existed. It was fast and intelligent, it constantly avoided her touch so she could not burn it easily with her green flame. It was good at dodging the flames she threw out and landed on the stone walls, melting whatever they touched.
"When you roll in the air use your power to catapult you, don’t just dodge it’s claws." Apheitos bellowed.
He had not stopped shouting out instructions since the fight started.
"Don’t just rely on the flame, use your weapons as well, make them part of the flame. Your ropes should be green, not gold." he bellowed again.
"You are distracting her." Severus told him.
"I am instructing her." Apheitos replied. "We have at most a week on this world before we will have to leave, I told you that those who are tracking us are hot on her heels."
"I know, but she can figure these things out if you just stop yelling." Severus told him.
His instructions were confusing Scarlet. When she was about to make one move, he would yell and she would then change her plan mid-way.
"Why isn’t she using her wings?" Apheitos asked Severus. Then he yelled, "Use your wings, not to fly but to blast the flames."
"Have you seen those ten foot long claws?" Severus asked him. "She is doing the smart thing because once the claws get a hold of her wings then it’s game over for her."
"She is a grim reaper, she can’t die." Apheitos responded.
"If she weakens in any way they will sense it and Lythia will be on to us faster than we can escape. Give her a chance to figure this out, she will get it." Severus argued.
Scarlet and the gigantic tiger both climbed up the wall rapidly and one leaped while the other roared before leaping as well.
"Turn your flame into a weapon, it can cut as deep as a the sharpest dagger in the world." Apheitos bellowed.
Severus groaned. He thought that he had managed to get through to Apheitos but his words had not even made a ripple in Apheitos’s instruction plan.
"Do your job as I do mine." Apheitos told him.
He lifted his hands and a section of the wall moved. From behind it, another creature flew out. This one had wings and Severus came to recognize it as a dark harpy. It was all black and had curved horns on it’s head. This kind of harpy was a failed creation that could not morph into female form.
It was aiming directly for Scarlet who had not seen it coming as she rained blows on the tiger, breaking one of it’s legs.
Severus growled and teleported himself into the pit, landing on top on the harpies back before it could get to Scarlet. His sharp, strong claws gripped and then ripped into it’s back and then it’s wings. The harpy screeched loudly in pain and flipped around.
Apheitos used his power to pull Severus out of the pit. The unhappy hound growled at the deity.
"Send me back," It roared.
"This is not your fight." Apheitos told him sternly. "If this was an actual war, you would be fighting your own opponents and she would be fighting her own."
"My job is to protect her." Severus growled out. "She is in danger."
"Do you really think I would let her die? The one who sent me to her would....." he stopped talking. "Let her fight Severus, she will come out of this battle stronger."
Apheitos opened another section of the wall and twenty more creatures dashed into the pit. He would make her tap into her full potential by force if he had to. There was no time to waste.
