What Do You Mean There Are Other Transmigrators In My Harem Fantasy?-Chapter 1026: When You Have Off-Worlders In Your Wagon
Christos invited his wife to introduce her to us and she seemed like a nice enough lady.
She seemed quite wary of me at first and I didn't understand why until I introduced the rest of my party and Lisa went ahead to blurt out that they were my harem.
She took one look at the girls and her attitude basically did a one eighty and was really friendly to me after that.
It took me a while to realise that she was worried I would seduce her husband but now she knew I like girls instead so there was no threat of that happening.
The night thankfully passed without any incident and we were back on the road again.
One thing that changed very significantly was that our wagon became quite talkative unlike the first day where we just stayed silent.
Although I guess to the others we were still silent because I had to create an air wall around us so that our wagon driver couldn't hear what we were talking about.
Just in case, I got Eins to hide outside the wagon so that she could warn me in case something was happening and we didn't hear it.
Incidentally, it seems like Christos and his wife had no intention of hiding who they were to their children so they were fine with them listening in.
"Oh, so you're reincarnated here, Miss Aster? So you've been here for a while then."
I nodded, "Close to two decades already to be exact."
Jenna gasped, "Eh? I thought for sure that you were in your twenties already!"
I shook my head, "It seems like for this race we mature faster. I was already an adult a few years ago."
"Ah, that's right, you said you weren't human."
"Mahun," Kabir corrected her. "Calling yourself that is one way to out yourself as an Off-Worlder to someone you just met."
The mage girl scratched her cheek in embarrassment, "Right… Sorry. I only just came to this world for a few months…"
Yeah, the mage girl was technically the 'youngest' here as she only just recently 'dropped in' into this world.
The couple and Kabir was also transmigrated here but they have already lived here for a few years, though not as long as me.
So ironically, in terms of age in this World, I was actually the oldest amongst them here.
"I still find it funny that five Off-Worlders are on the same wagon at the same time," I admitted.
Christos nodded, "I will freely say that this is my first time seeing another Off-Worlder aside from my wife. Although… I guess I might have walked past one without even knowing they were an Off-Worlder the entire time."
Kabir nodded at that, "I've met one or two over the years. Didn't really keep in touch with them though and it was more of me realising they were Off-Worlders than them admitting to it." freewēbnoveℓ.com
Jenna turned to look at us with a serious gaze, "Umm… Could I just ask… What are your plans in this life? Because… To be honest… In my previous life I was just basically just an office worker so… Err… I mean… I've heard about stories like this before but I never really read one."
Kabir turned to her with shock, "Wait what? You've never read or watched an isekai story in your life?! Those were so popular!"
The mage girl looked a little embarrassed, "I… Didn't really have time to read much since I was busy with work all the time…"
Kabir looked at her up and down, "And you seem to have gone for a mage build from what I can see."
"I said I didn't read them, not that I didn't know about them."
"Fair enough."
Christos let out a chuckle, "I know what you mean. My wife was the one who knew about this other world thing while I was the one that was clueless about it. I thought I was being dropped into hell or something at first until I woke up with her. Thankfully, I had her to explain everything to me so I adapted pretty quickly!"
Penelope nudged his ribs with an elbow, "You tried to gather wood by punching a tree."
"I thought it was that type of world ok?" He protested.
I know exactly what world he was talking about and seeing how Kabir was also nodding as well, he probably also knew what he was talking about too.
The father of two continued, "Anyway… As I had mentioned earlier, I'm a woodworker working at Dragon View Trade City. We're going to Latipac City for a short vacation. Well… They are, I'm going for work."
Kabir raised an eyebrow at him, "And you're happy with that sort of life? I thought you would want to be out exploring the world."
Christos gave him a pointed look, "You almost died today. Do I need to remind you of that?"
The traveller grimaced, "Point taken. But well, we had the chance to live a second life in a world that only existed in fantasies. I'll be damned if I don't at least go out and explore it a bit."
Well high five because that's what I was thinking too.
Unexpectedly, Kabir turned to me, "That's why you're working as a Mercenary right? You even adapted to this world's rules and got yourself a harem. Damn am I jealous."
I decided not to comment on that and simply shrugged in response.
Jenna gave Kabir a look, "So what do you do? Are you just travelling around or something?"
He puffed his chest up proudly, "I'm trying to introduce my culture's food to this world and I'm currently on a journey to look for the spices I need to do that. You could say that I'm a travelling chef!"
That's pretty cool.
Penelope then spoke up, "What about you, Miss Aster? Are you really just living as a Mercenary? Are you not afraid of getting hurt?"
"To be honest… I just haven't really thought about it. My main goal is the same as his, you see," I answered, jerking my thumb in Kabir's direction. "I basically grew up with the fantasy stories and dreamed of living them. Now I actually have the chance to live in one, I wasn't going to give that chance up. I want to see what is out there in the World and write a book about it."
"A book? A book… Aster… Aster… No wait!! You!! It can't be!!" Penelope suddenly cried out, pointing a finger at me.
Everyone turned to look at her in confusion, wondering what was wrong, although I did see my companions reaching for their weapons subtly.
"You published 'To Tear Over A Tear'?! Did you?!"
I didn't expect to meet a reader here…
I grimaced, deciding that denying it might not be wise here since she clearly figured it out because of the name.
"I did…"
Honestly, I was expecting her to start pushing one of my book copies on me to ask for autographs or something but then she unexpectedly became furious and jabbed an accusatory finger in my direction.
"You stole that work!! You didn't write it!! You're a fraud!!"
I blinked at her before I realised what she was accusing me of.
She must have also read my book back in our World and thought that I was stealing my ideas and publishing them here for profit.
To be honest, I'm surprised that no one actually did that with the popular books of our World but I guess they either don't know how to publish or they weren't as popular in this World.
I scratched my cheek, "Err… I know this might sound a little like I'm making excuses but… I was the original author back in our World… I'm just republishing it in this World…"
She paused for a moment before speaking again, "You… You're the original author? As in… You wrote that book back in our World?"
I nodded, "Yes…"
She paused for another moment and everyone else was practically looking at us while holding their breaths right now.
"Prove it," She finally asked.
I made a face at her, "How am I supposed to prove that I wrote it? It's not like I could just take my original manuscripts and show them to you."
She went over to where her kids were and it was only now that I realised that they had been reading one of my books this entire time.
She pulled out another copy of my book and handed it over to me, flipping it over to the cover page.
Ah… I guess she wants me to sign it so that she can check if my autograph is the same I guess? Although my name is different now…
Alright, alright.
I looked through my Bangle of Folding to take out a pen before I went ahead to sign my autograph on the book.
I even signed off with a short thank you note addressing Penelope to make it more personal before handing it back to her.
She looked at what I wrote and there was silence for at least a minute while she stared at the page.
Then she suddenly fell to her knees and started crying without any warning.
Err… What? What did I do wrong?
